United Republic Grand Senate - Union City, Anagonia

Dunan Ruu stood on the main podium before the newly reconstructed Grand Senate Building. After the terrorist attack on the Chief Governors Manson, Anagonia basically rebuilt the Capitol Building and went ahead to reconstruct the Grand Senate Building. Thereafter more room was added, including new spaces for additional seats for Senators. The Senatorial Desks were manufactured with built-in computer screens and keyboards for ease of access. Included were other necessary computerized components for private communications among Senators and whomever else should be on the call list. Dunan noted that there was two levels that shared both Anagonian Senators and other Senators from her Provinces. On both walls, and behind Dunan whom stood on the main podium where he resided as Grand Senator of the Senate, were large displays to show the happenings of the Senate. These displays could change function at will, which allowed for better explaining of issues at hand.

Dunan Ruu struck his gavel on the podium, the Senate coming to order as the screen behind him displayed the most important Article to ever come to the attention of the Grand Senate. His age betrayed his youthful outlook on this Article, his gray hair neatly combed back. He wore the usual two-piece suit that most Senator's wore, elegantly motioning towards the screen. "May I have the attention of the Grand Senate?" Dunan listened as many Aye's came from the large Senate Chamber. "Then shall I call to order the issue of the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation. That thereafter shall this Article define how the United Republic of Anagonia properly Governs and Regulates her provinces outside her Nation. That therefore shall it keep Anagonia from becoming a Tyrant Power."

The Senate in its entirety rose as one, "We shall hear this issue."

Dunan nodded in acknowledgment. "With us today are Senators from the nations of Fictions, Greal, Santheres, and Greston. All of whom represent these respected nations unto this Senate." He motioned towards where the respected Senators sat, "That they understand the laws set forth by the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation place the proper politics and diplomacy in the hands of the Anagonian Grand Senate, that therefore should it govern with respect to their Sovereignty."

The Senate in its entirety sat as one, "We understand this issue and acknowledge the presence of our Brethren."

Dunan once again nodded in acknowledgment. "Let it be put into motion this Article of the Anagonian Confederation. Let it therefore be put into motion that all Provinces are accepted by default. Let it therefore be put into motion that all motions are one motion stated henceforth in this session." He struck his gavel, "Commence the debating."

For the next two hours Senators debated the issue at hand. Considering it would majorly impact the United Republic as a whole, everyone considered and debated the implications from the People they represented and the Nation they were assigned to. Eventually, a consensus was reached, and despite a few votes against the Motion passed. Dunan struck the gavel three hours later and the Anagonian Confederation was born.

ARTICLES OF THE ANAGONIAN CONFEDERATION
To establish the Rights and Laws of the United Republic over the Provinces under its domain

PREAMBLE

For the act of expansion through peaceful territorial control it is prudent to ensure that said territories, henceforth known as Nations, remain Independent and Sovereign from the Governing Laws and Control establish within the United Republic of Anagonia, henceforth ensuring said Sovereignty of said Nations is not comprised and the Freedoms and Liberties enjoyed by the People of Said Nations, including the Right to Government, are not restricted.

ARTICLE I - RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY
Henceforth it is declared that the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces, are Sovereign and Independent with no exception made to the Governing Authority residing in the United Republic of Anagonia, that therefore the United Republic of Anagonia has no RIGHT and/or Legal Jurisdiction to impose Laws and Restrictions upon the Member Provinces within the Anagonian Confederation that restrict the RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY.

ARTICLE II - RIGHT OF GOVERNMENT
Henceforth it is declared that the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, have absolute control over the Government which Governs the Nations aforementioned with no exception made to the Governing Authority residing in the United Republic of Anagonia, that therefore the United Republic of Anagonia has no RIGHT and/or Legal Jurisdiction to impose Laws and Restrictions upon the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation that restrict the RIGHT OF GOVERNMENT.

ARTICLE III - RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE
Henceforth it is declared that the People residing in the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, and therefore to be considered legal citizens of aforementioned Nations, have the RIGHTS and LAWS of said Nations, with respect to ARTICLE I - RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY that said People should not be dictated by the RIGHTS and LAWS within the United Republic of Anagonia, that therefore said People should be governed and freely govern if said Governments conform to said governance the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation.

ARTICLE IV - THE GRAND SENATE
For the purpose of proper representation of the Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, it shall therefore be enacted that the proper Assembly for Diplomatic and Political Affairs relating to the Nations aforementioned be the Grand Senate of the United Republic, that therein the Nations aforementioned send a delegation with a minimum of one Senator per State or Province within said Nation and two Senators per City within said Nation, that therefore said Senators shall act as the Voice of the People and Governing Assembly of aforementioned Nations thereby ensuring fair representation within the Grand Senate of the United Republic.

ARTICLE V - ECONOMY OF THE CONFEDERATION
With respect to ARTICLE I - RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY which therefore preserves and protects the RIGHT of Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, to maintain an Economy with no relation to the economy of the United Republic of Anagonia, henceforth does ARTICLE V - ECONOMY OF THE CONFEDERATION establish a United Economy of the Anagonian Confederation that shall act as a Unified Trade and Economic Establishment that shall merge the Economic Value and Power of aforementioned Nations with the Nation of Anagonia, which shall therefore be separate from the National Economies of aforementioned Nations, to encourage prosperity and economic superiority via competitive trading and therefore add to the Economic Value of aforementioned Nations, henceforth establishing the Anagonian DENAR as the superior recommended currency without compromising the accepted currencies of aforementioned Nations therefore complying with ARTICLE I - RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY.

ARTICLE VI - MILITARY OF THE CONFEDERATION
Henceforth it shall be established that the MILITARY of the United Republic of Anagonia shall therefore be the MILITARY OF THE CONFEDERATION, acting therein as overall protector and peacekeeper to Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therein being Member Nations choosing to be Member Provinces of the Anagonian Confederation, therefore allowing said MILITARY OF THE CONFEDERATION to assist in National Development of Infrastructure and Construction within aforementioned Nations, assist in training the MILITARY of aforementioned Nations, therefore being responsible for patrolling and protecting all territories of aforementioned Nations, that therein said aforementioned Nations may contribute to the MILITARY OF THE CONFEDERATION according to their respective National Interests with no order of compliance forced upon aforementioned Nations concerning ARTICLE VI - MILITARY OF THE CONFEDERATION.

ARTICLE VIII - CONFEDERATION EXPANSION
Henceforth should the event arise wherein new Nations desire to become Provisional Members of the ANAGONIAN CONFEDERATION it shall therein be left to the decision of the United Republic of Anagonia for acceptance of membership into the United Republic so long as said membership is not within the bounds of war and/or aggression, that therefore new Nations shall comply with these ARTICLES OF THE ANAGONIAN CONFEDERATION in full, wherein should said form of expansion encompass further expansion such decisions shall be left unto the United Republic of Anagonia at aforementioned Nations discretion, that therefore any member of the ANAGONIAN CONFEDERATION can withdraw at will with respect to ARTICLE I - RIGHT OF SOVEREIGNTY, that therein all Rights and Privileges of said Nations attained through the peaceful expansion of Territory on behalf of the United Republic of Anagonia shall be fairly and justly represented through these ARTICLES OF THE ANAGONIAN CONFEDERATION.

POLITICS: Fictions Joins Anagonian Confederation

After a speech last week in which our Leader, Nita Ellison announced that Fictions was officially a protectorate of the United Republic of Anagonia. Our representatives attended their first ever meeting at the Grand Senate of the Untied republic along with representatives from nations such as Greal, Santheras and Gretson who have also formed similar agreements. During the meeting a formal Contract was drawn out and Fictions, along with the aforementioned nations, are now official members of the new 'Anagonia Confederation' Which Gives member nations protection as well as leaving them with their full right's to sovereignty. As was stated at the press conference a few weeks back, accepting this offer and becoming part of this confederation is the right choice For Fictions and is the first step in re-building our nation.

History was made today during the ninth session of the Grand Senate during February. Grand Senator Dunan Ruu, whom is widely acknowledged as the Hero of the United Republic for his roles in leadership as Chief Governor, headed the Grand Senate in an unrepresented show of international cooperation and unity. What was on the agenda, you may ask? Typically the Grand Senate deals with the internal affairs of our wonderful Republic. From quelling disputes between the Three Main Provinces of Anagonia, Nodea Rudav and Drekamythia, to agreeing on the yearly budget that the government runs on, the Mandate in question was by far the most extreme since the days of Stoklomolvi. Senators from the nations of Fictions, Greal, Greston, and Santheres joined the Ninth Session of the February Congress in agreeing to an Article of Anagonian Confederations which outlines the role that the United Republic should play in dealing with its provinces. Left from the agenda was the Provinces of Nodea Rudav and Drekamythia, which are already governed according to the age-old Unification Agreement.

The session lasted for about five hours with two intermission for debate among Senators. The final judgment was an outstanding 55 to 6 vote, with the six senators coming from Drekamythia opposing. Senators from the nations outlined within the Article of Anagonian Confederations agreed without a nay vote, therefore placing the Article into law and action. Citizens from all over Anagonia enjoyed the day and the Office of the Acting Chief Governor announced a new Holiday of "Confederation Day" celebrating this wonderful achievement. Overall opinion seems to be in favor of the move, although a percentage from the Imperial Province of Drekamythia seem to favor a more stricter approach to governing foreign territories.

With this new Confederation under its belt, the United Republic of Anagonia officially has four new territories to add to the textbooks. While the Nations are completely Sovereign and can choose to leave the Confederation at any time, it is widely assumed that most will stay due to the outstanding percentage of economic and military support provided under the Article. Anagonia's economy rallied with the news of four new economic ties that would solidify an already Frightening economy.

Adding to the benefits of the Article of the Anagonian Confederation, this document proves once and for all that the United Republic is unbiased in its approach to dealing with foreign powers. Accepting, giving, and peaceful, it should be noted that not one hostile remark or weapon was fired during this process of territorial gain. Peace, as the United Republic has so truly found out, is the best way to expand ones influence and support in the International Community.

Greali Police are out in force to protect the Senate Building after protests. Despite protests, polls show an overwhelming number of Greali support the agreement with Anagonia.

SASHA, GREAL - Greal representatives for the first time ever, were in the Grand Senate of Anagonia, following the controversial agreement, which has brought puzzlement to the general public of Greal. However, polls shows that the eighty one percent of the Greali public support the protectorate agreement, while seventeen percent oppose it. Greal, together with Fictions, Santheres, and Greston to become members of the new Anagonian Confederation. The agreement, which also gives Greal the right to leave the Confederation if it feels inclined to, was negotiated for a month between diplomats of each country. Hundreds of people showed up in front of the Senate building, protesting the "sell-out" to Anagonia, Greali police were able to prevent them from entering the building and no injuries have been reported.

For most of the people of Fictions, the news was received with apathy, there may have been mild resentment but that was overshadowed but the simple fact that the population had has enough of war. They did not want more deaths, they did not want to live their lives in fear of an attack and they most definitely did not want a repeat of C.Espias... Not all citizens took this stance, some citizens felt sold out. They wanted to see Fictions strong, they did not want to see Fictions under the control of foreigners who, not so long ago, had proclaimed the wish to wipe out every inhabitant of the country. These people tried to make their voices heard, protests and riots, but they were quickly disbanded. The government had decided that this was the right choice, but it was perhaps the fact the protesters were for Fictions and were loyal to the nation that spared their lives.

"This looks like something we could consider. We'd be under Anagonian protection, but wouldn't have the sort of obligations that a normal alliance would entail," Lau said.

"No. Never. Remember the goals of neutrality - be everybody's buddy, but nobody's friend. Friendships are ties, ties we can't afford," David replied, shocked. He thought Matahir knew why the Confederacy was neutral. How could we sell to the world if we tie ourselves to just part of it?

Lau, for his part, was suprised at David's vehement reply. Did he not see the guarantees of national sovereignty that Chen had highlighted? Besides, if you're going to piss everyone off, you get nowhere. You have to have friends. There's a reason the richest criminals are organized criminals.

But concerning your question, Anagonia would not interfere with your dealings. So long as you didn't nuke another member-province of the Anagonian Confederation, we'd be fine with it. According to the Articles of the Confederation, what you do is your business.

In a move to begin the responsibilities of ensuring the future of its newest Provinces, the United Republic of Anagonia acting in accordance with the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation began to deploy troops today to the member-provinces within the Anagonian Confederation. Military officials were quoted as saying that the deployment was "a sign of the advancement of relations and the promise of our commitment to all our newest allies". The Office of the Chief Governor announced the move in advance of economic and government advisers shipping out to assist in the finalization of the Anagonian Confederation.

Chief General Oscar Vladinchi, Anagonia's Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, held a press conference to properly detail the mission of the troops being deployed. During the conference, press from all of the member-provinces gave hard questions concerning the recent deployment. The Chief General assured the free press that the move was in accordance with the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation and that the ground forces would assist in all reconstruction and security measures currently taking place within the member-provinces themselves.

Chief Senator Dunan Ruu stated publicly that he did not see any violation of the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation. "In fact," Dunan Ruu said today, "It is stated within the Article that military forces should be present to ensure the continued security and assist in all things that would further the growth of every member-province." He went on to assure the public by saying, "(That) all member-provinces continue to be Independent and Sovereign. This troop presence does not lesson that Sovereignty. In fact, it ensures it according to the Articles of the Anagonian Confederation."

Acting Chief Governor Caster Oblivion was not available for comment at the time of this press release. Though a formal Address to the United Republic is expected.

Reconstruction works in City Majovul

LIFE: Reconstruction Begins

The war is over, Stability is returning and life is beginning to get back to normal however there is still the matter of re0building our great cities many of which had been severely damaged in either of the wars. Until now the country had been considered too unstable to allow for reconstruction projects to begin but just yesterday, the government gave clearance for re-building to finally take place. With help and funding from The United Republic of Anagonia, Massive reconstruction projects have begun. The process will take a long time to finish and will cost millions but we are confident that when it is finished the cities will be back to their former glory, perhaps even better.
