Versilese Civil War
It was raining that night on the nation's war torned capital, what seemed like only a dream at first actually happened. We were unaware of the growing rebel resistance, yet we saw the warnings but did not see it as actual threat to our growing nation. For years the government has always struggled with corrupted leaders trying to change up things, we've known this but we were people of absolute freedom and never gave up hope. If anything, we never gave up that dream of one day having the perfect president to lead us into a new direction. That all changed... about two weeks ago, President O'Donnel, a young yet brash politician from the Bureaucratic Action Party, was sworn in as our new years. The people was inlove with this man and his ideas, they were different from previous leaders, the rebels viewed him only as a puppet working for the much advanced nations of the world, but that's outrageous. As the president was about to deliver his speech, an RPG was fired directly at the new president and some innocent bystanders, killing the new president and atleast 110 people who were in the way that could not escape further damage. That's when the invasion began, as soon as that RPG was fired an army of rebel troops stormed from the forests into the capital opening fire on anyone moving and also on government troops who were instantly deployed to take care of the situation. The government troops proved no match as they were forced to surrender, some were taken prisoner others were killed on sight. This battle between the rebels and the deterring government troops continued for almost a month now since the attack on the capital. The remaining cabinet for the USV government relocated to a more secluded part of the island to further take care of this problem instead of collapsing.
The island itself has four states and two are already under rebel control, leaving our weakened government with two. We still somehow managed to have a somewhat strong economy due to choices made not only by the government, but by the people. However, since we were short on troops... the government had no choice but to issue an immediate draft for military service. Almost immediately, all wanted to join to fight the rebel force that were threatening their freedom. The cabinet would later issue this address of plea out to other nations of the world, hoping someone will ally with us.
"Leaders and people of each nation, I don't really know how to explain this but we really need some allies here. Our devastated island has suffered enough, our men are putting their lives on the line just so freedom can prevail. Isn't there anyone out there that has the decency and courage to help us regain our freedom?"
This address was repeated on international television, some countries didn't seem to care but others were seriously thinking about helping our troubled nation out. About four weeks after that televised address, the rebel group who finally revealed themselves issued an address out to the world as well.
"For years now, we've struggled with this corrupt government. Never promising change, never promising a more bright future for us peasants but only for the rich and wealthy. We are the Versile Independent Movement, our goal is simple, to reinstall a new and better government without capitalist ideals corrupting our glorious country. Anyone who decides to aid with the Capitalist regime will also feel our wrath. Don't take this as a threat, we've all lived under a corrupt regime once in our lifetime. Why should history repeat itself? If you understand my cause, world, then maybe YOU will aid our cause. If we win this war, we will only focus on the people and not on government needs. Our people is what makes this nation powerful, not the government itself. Without the will power of people, there is no functioning government. For equality and justice!"

OOC Well if its never ending then its not hard to wonder how long its going to last :p
Hmm, so the islanders can't even handle a group of rebels eh? That masked man, he speaks with such nobility! He really must want a better way of life.
The Premier of the Federation of Delvira said, blowing a trail of smoke from his Cuban cigar.
I believe we can make help out our revolutionary friends in the once United States of Versile. Corruption is a vile thing, no?
Said the Premier, looking over at one of his chairman of the politburo.
Oh yes, of course! Shall I give orders for our Special Forces to depart to the rebel strong hold?
Hmm..
The Premier stood up, his military uniform baring many badges from previous wars glistened in the dim light, turning his back. The Premier began to think, admiring the view outside this capital building.
Yes, send two units. Send, one of our finest... it's about time they experience battle. Besides, from what I've been observing. The government is nothing more then a child's play toy. It will be too easy to liberate this island!
With that being said, the order was made. Two units of the Delvira's special forces would enter this hot zone just to liberate the island from the grips of the USV government. The premier and his politburo always had an odd view of "freedom".

In the interest of restoring the stability of your nation and preserving the lives of your citizens, the Ministry has decided unanimously to provide peacekeeping forces and defend your government.
Though we do this of our own free will with few expectations, we hope that, in an act of friendship, you will defer to us following the deployment of our troops. This may be the beginning of a fruitful friendship and one might do well to consider that we would be a gracious ally should our sensibilities not be offended.
It is estimated that the House Coalition will provide only a handful of soldiers. Elements of the Gendarmerie will, therefore, be the primary force deployed and are more than capable in both military and civil duties.

"Another day...another civil war in some backwater hellhole." Baron Stanislaw Karini groaned as he read over the latest international reports on his desk. He was a late riser, and he hated being woken up over such trivial and common things as wars. He put the report flat on the desk and demolished the last of the ham and eggs on his breakfast plate. He was just finishing the last dregs of his meal when a knock on the door stopped him dead in his tracks.
"Come in!" He yelled, annoyed at yet another interruption to his morning schedule. The person who had knocked was clearly nervous because it took a few moments before the door opened. Finally, a man in the characteristic black and gold uniform of the Royal Patriotic Guards entered Karini's study. The man bowed deeply before advancing toward the Baron's desk.
"My Lord, Grand Duke Kavinkov is inquiring about what you are planning to do about the recent developments in Versile. I trust you have read the report sire?" The man said as he saluted and stood directly in front of Karini's polished oak desk.
Karini thought for a moment, gazing occasionally at the piece of discarded paper to his right that was the report.
"Tell the Grand Duke that we'll send two Wervilk death squads to Versile immediately in support of the nation's government. If he wants anymore then he'll have to take it up with the VGS." Karini finally responded.
"Of course sire." Responded the Patriot Guard as he saluted and walked calmly out of the Baron's study.
Just before he went to bed, Chen Law pulled up the video again in his mind. Whoever this Delegate Gamma was, at least he still had ideals. Silly, probably hopeless ones, but ideals nonetheless. Chen had lost his own idealism years ago. I was probably the last one, he thought, the last idealist in the Confederacy.
OOC: Neat opening. Quick question - if O'Donnel was 'beloved', why is VIM popular enough to hold so much territory?
Some of the major cities in the USV controlled area were devastated, along with the population. Since the fighting started, people were killed left to right. Some were killed by the rebels because of political views, most notably, capitalist ideas that the VIM hated so much. Most cities were gated up, for the people's protection, strangely enough the people tried to continue their delay lives... trying to forget about the war, however it was hard when troops were at every corner guarding for potential rebels in hiding. You could barely trust anyone anymore. The USV cabinet remained underground, this cabinet was part of O'Donnel's party so therefor, they shared the same basic ideas. That very day, that's when the cabinet received a message from an encrypted source.
"Atlast! Someone to help us! Hmm..." Said one of the cabinet members, reading the message thoroughly, adjusting his glasses. "I see,"
the cabinet member stood up, observing the other 3 cabinet members. "They won't send up troops, but they did enclose a catalog for us... but this is useless! We're losing more men by the day!" he said in distraught voice.
"We have no choice, we might as well bargain with them.. we need more jets and tanks. That's something the rebels don't have!" said one of the cabinet members.
"Very well! Let's reply with our demands shall we?", with that they soon sent a reply. With that, they kept their hope.

Re: Re: Rebels
Thank you so much friend, you have no idea how relieved we are. We'll we did have a strong economy but now it is deteriorating because of the war. We're losing more men by the day, you don't suppose that you could send us a few tanks, jets, and carrier planes would you? If possible, PLEASE, PLEASE, send us some troops. If not, please negotiate a deal with your government on our behalf. We'll do anything in return.
With that, it was done. Now all they had to do was wait...
Mean while, deep in the jungles of the Versile island, Delegate Gamma sat in his dark office, reading up things on the world wide web. He's amazed that this civil war has already made it to the news. With that, he just merely chuckled. "Capitalist scum, how easy for them to call US terrorists... when infact we are the liberators! We are going to free this country!", slamming his fest on the table with a bit of rage present.
"What's this...? A message?", on alert he oppened the letter quickly reading it as his eye balls moved from line to line. It was quiet now, the Delegate just sat there for a minute.
"Looks like our luck has changed!" with that he laughed happily. If this was a sign of luck, then looks like this war would end sooner then anticipated.

Send me all you got, in return I'll pay with gold and other valuables that we've conjured up during our battles. My agenda is simple, I plan to free my country and replant a new, better government! A government that my people can trust. Hopefully someone like you can understand my cause. This will go down in history and I will forever be remembered as a hero, a patriot!
Delegate Gamma was not only brash and young, but also very arrogant. He's been getting arrogant by the day because of each victory on behalf of his loyal troops.
OOC: Simple really, you see since the USV government was corrupt there were a few members of the government who were for the VIM also worked for the government to gather intel. Also, some of the states were against the USV. It's an evened out power struggle really.
OOC: Just curious, who supports who? Do the rebels support democracy?
Leaders of the world, as you know. The island of Versile, is facing a bit of a dilemma! Due to the poor, corrupt government, rebels have decided to stand up against this tyranny and what is right. My country and myself DO NOT support capitalist pigs who only care for money instead of it's own people. These rebels, I admire their ingenuity... their ambition! I've admired it so much, that I have decided to ally myself with the Versile Independence Force! Starting tomorrow, I will deploy my best soldiers to help bring down the tyranny that is of the United States of Versile. I, Juan Caranza, General of the Federal Delvirian forces AND premier of the proud Federation of Delvira deliver this message not only to those watching... but to other rebel forces who wish to overthrow a corrupt regime. My friends, you are not alone! I support you and I congratulate you all for your struggles!
That, that was the speech earlier today delivered by the Delvirian premier himself. A very arrogant man who always dressed in appropriate military suits, donning his medals to the viewing crowds. You could see the blissful ignorance in him, he was a tall well built man for his age. With a tan complexion, he looked a bit like a middle aged Che Gueverra. Not too many nations liked the Federation of Delvira because of their arrogant view on policies, they try hard to act like the policeman of the world when infact their economy is weak due to poor government spending. Juan Caranza's speech was televised in every nation, some say he's a radical, some also say he's a revolutionary, and the rest? Well, the most civilized nations would consider him as a mere mad man.
OOC: The USV government supports democracy, even though it's government has had trouble in the past due to corruption. The rebels support communism, a Maoist type of communism if you will.

We would also like permission for Cathay Cargo (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=580152) to purchase a hangar and helipad at your two largest airports, and for it to begin civilian cargo service to and from Versile, once the war has ended.
OOC: See my factbook (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=578541) for details on how your missile factory would be run.

We humbly accept, if we are to win this war. You will be but a great ally and friend to us, together our nations can work together peacefully to bring about social order in distraught regions such as the one we're in right now. We've heard that the Federation of Delvira has sided with the rebels. This action greatly offends us and what our government stands for, we have never harmed or taunted the Delvirian government to say such things about us. How could they say such things if they've never arranged talks with us? It is vital that they do not set foot on Versilese chores. We are not strong enough to fight another nation's army. As for the House of Coalition's decision to provide is with troops is most generous as will need help restoring order.

The fierce wind buffeted the Volzgradien aircraft now flying low over the war-wracked remains of Versile. They had been flying for almost 8 hours now, and had traveled hundreds of kilometers from Venkov Military Airbase where they had departed. Of these aircraft, 3 carried heavily armed Wervilk troops from the Royal Patriotic Guards. The two squads of 20 were roughly split up between the three light transport aircraft. The remaining cargo planes were loaded to capacity with arms, equipment, and logistical supplies destined for the remnants of the Versile Military.
Patriot-Captain Pawel Gussef took the last, good puff of his Cuban cigar before throwing it onto the planes steel deck and crushing it with the black armoured heel of his boot. Through touch alone, he located his gas mask pouch on his backpack of kit and removed it with expertise taught only to Volzgradien Military personnel. He quickly draped the gas mask over his head and clamped it tight onto his matte black steel helmet. Beside him, he could see his Patriot comrades-in-arms doing the same.
Pawel took a deep breath of the stale, recycled air of the plane and gazed at the wall in front of him. He had gotten used to the gas masks limitations on his senses long ago, you had to if you ever hoped to be considered a soldier of the Volzgradien Imperial Army. A man beside him coughed and anxiously glanced at his wrist watch.
"We'll be down in 2 minutes." The man said nervously, clearly fidgeting in his bulky greatcoat and body armour.
"Take it easy Tarienovski. Just remember you're training and have faith in your squad and our Lord God." Pawel said. Tarienovski was a new inductee to the Wervilk and he was naturally nervous about his first true combat mission in foreign territory.
"Yes, of course sir." Tarienovski replied as he made the sign of the cross. He seemed more confident, but Pawel could still sense a bit of anxiety in the young man.
"ETA 60 seconds. All units ready for immediate landing and disembarkation. LZ is not confirmed clear, be ready for hostiles on the ground." The intercom blared suddenly as the plane obviously lowered altitude. The large steel cargo bay doors at the end of the plane began to open, revealing a night sky and city riddled with fire, explosions, and mayhem. Pawel checked his gear one last time and took the safety off of his DSR-95 Assault Rifle.
The plane touched down with a screech as the wheels made contact with the concrete of the airfield. The plane continued moving for several more seconds before coming to a complete stop. In an instant, Pawel and his squad mates were free of their seats and clambering down the exit ramp of the aircraft. Pawel was relieved to see that all the other planes had touched down safely as well, and he could already see the other Wervilk squads securing the area.

That is fine, anything to repay for your generosity. However, we can only give facilitate you to purchase only one major airport from us. For now atleast, we want to make sure if things run okay with your presence on our land. If all goes fine, they toy may immediately use our 2nd major airport. Free of charge. We also demand that we create a military base on a desired part of your nation. You may pick the spot, our military base would be yours to use as well. To supply your nation's troops.

We can arrange for you to maintain a base in the Sabah Testing Grounds. Please note that all these arrangements will only be made once the war is over.
Cara! SilĂȘncio!
Yelled a young Captain of the Delvirian Federal Guard, he was about 20. Straight out of Cadet School, this young men received great medals and certificates for excellent service to his country.
Once we're on this plane, men. We are off to war! Most of you have never fought in a war but remember who we are. We are the best of the best in Delvira! Remember our creed!
Walking down the line of 20 faced, battle ready soldiers in their tan colored military fatigues. Basic communist based uniforms of course.
Our mission, is to free the Versilese people from the tyrant government and instal the promising rebel faction as the new head of the nation!
We will not loose! MEN! CARRY OUT! TO THE PLANE! GO GO GO!
With that final order, all 20 of the first Delvirian Federal Guard ran onto the plane, taking their seats. Halo jumps were necessary for this mission. Delvira's intent was to remain incognito, because they did not receive orders from the world government to declare war against a crumbling nation in need of help. As soon as they were on, the hatch of the plan slowly closed and when it did. The engine began to rev, starting up, and once it did. This Delvirian plane would make lift out to the USV.
Make me proud, and especially... make your country proud.
Exclaimed Juan Caranza as he stood, watching the plane taking flight into the air. He continued to watch as the plane took off, deep into the pacific region where his men would make contact with the island of Versile.
"That must be them!", one soldier of the USV said. A group of 9 soldiers from the Regular Army of the USV were ordered to await for the arrival of the Volzgradien aircraft. They were to escort the Volzgradien soldiers to the USV underground base hidden deep within the dead forest area. The leader of the rag-tag group, Lt. Colonel Vincent of the 3rd USVRA (USV Regular Army) Regiment Unit approached the aircraft the greet the Volzgradiens.
"I wonder if these guys will end the war for us." whispered on soldier in the group to another.
"I dunno, but I've heard stories of that unit... you know the Wervilk troops. I've heard stories of them being hard to kill. I doubt the rebels will last.", the soldier replied.
Vincent looked at the other Wervilk troops scurrying around the area making sure that it's secure.

With the tenseness of the landing now gone, Patriot-Captain Pawel Gussef lowered his rifle and deftly switched the safety back. With his troops now arranged in their respective squads, they could now get down to business. Pawel nodded in approval and smiled underneath the gas mask as he saw his troops form into two column formations of 20 each and begin marching in step to where a trio of USV regulars were indicating. Pawel turned on his heel and walked calmly to a USV soldier who he guessed was in charge.
"Patriot-Captain Pawel Gussef, Wervilk Platoon 3, Squad 1," He said smartly as he offered his gloved right hand to the USV officer "I take it you are in charge of this section?"
Vincent and his men were amazed by the sheer power of Patriot-Captain Pawel Gussef and his platoon. Truth is, the USV military has never seen combat which would explain why they were easily beaten during the first rebel attack. Vincent and his men wore outdated military gear, mismatching desert camo pants with regular green camo body armor. The attire itself was similar to the American attire used back during the Vietnamese war. Vincent nervously but quickly exchanged a dirty left hand covered in dirt and tried mud to shake with Patriot-Captain Pawel Gussef. "Wow, I've heard so much about you guys before. Boy we're lucky you guys are here!", Vincent exclaimed as he laughed lightly.
"I'm Lt. Colonel Vincent of the United States of Versile Regular Army, 3rd Regiment,", Vincent looked back at his men. They were unorganized, and not ready for battle. Infact, they didn't seem like the type to be worthy of being a soldier due to poor combat training. Feeling a bit embarrassed he replied, "So what are your orders? We have ours, we're to take to our underground base. The Cabinet members of O'Donnel's party have been waiting".
"Oh yeah, and it's been confirmed that the Federation of Delvira deployed troops and are expected to arrive soon... what are you to do if they come here?", Vincent asked one more time, gripping onto the barrel of his M16.

Verdona was usually the place to be if someone wanted to spend a night out with one of the country's most elite of courtesans, or gamble their paychecks away on games of cards and roulette. But this was only so long as the local divisions were not readying themselves to deploy. Then, it was as though life in the metropolis froze: the frequenters of the brothels and casinos returned to their bases ... even some of the courtesans and pit bosses left their jobs to tend to their duties to the military. Those who would not deploy took the time to see their friends and loved ones, their customers, their employees off.
While the naval deployment could simply divert to Versile, the airborne troops had to come directly from the Santherese mainland. Still, they would reach their destination faster than the flotilla would. The deployment was small by the standards of many of those currently happening around the world, small even for Santherese expeditionary forces -- certainly small for what they could afford to send out on a whim. But Verdona was comprised of a dozen military towns, and in many ways the heart of the Santherese military complex. When the call came from the Ministry of Defense, everyone reported in, no matter their current circumstances. Of those hundreds of thousands, few would leave but that didn't matter.
The air fields around and within the city were alive, quite unlike the sky cities and manufactory centers of Verdona. From there, enough transports to carry in a half a thousand Rangers and their IFVs would soon leave for Versile to establish a foothold in the region and hold out against rebel incursion until the fleet and its firepower could arrive off the foreign coast.
Good at their jobs, the Rangers were more than likely to be enough to handle the rebels -- lacking artillery or armor, however, they were at a bit of a potential disadvantage. At that, it would be a logistical nightmare if the fleet was very late. Used as they were to such circumstances, running out of ammunition wasn't exactly a fantasy any of them were having.
Besides, not one of them knew what the Delvirans might be putting into action, much less what those would be capable of. At least, though, they had their classic sense of superiority that would never accept foreigners from undoubtedly poor and base nations as approaching being equals.

"A pleasure to meet you Lt. Colonel Vincent." Pawel replied as he shook the man's hand. Most of his men were now out of sight, lead to the frontline by the USV soldiers. Only Pawel and his adjutant, a stocky and grim Corporal by the name Rodnovsky, remained on the airfield with Lt. Colonel Vincent.
"The supplies in our cargo planes are ready to be unloaded by the looks of it, though it appears your ground crews have already gotten the message." Pawel said as he noticed countless USV troopers unloading the heavy crates of weapons and ammunition from the cargo planes. He checked his watch. 1:00 AM, right on schedule.
"As to your question Lt. Colonel, the Delvirans are an enemy just the same as the rebels. If we find them, we kill them. Simple as that." He said grimly. "My men and I are under specific orders to ensure the continued survival of the United States of Versile. No number of rebels or foreign operatives can stand in our way. I believe that is enough small talk for now, and I'm sure your commanders would be in foul moods if I came late." Pawel told Lt. Colonel Vincent as he and his entourage began to move out.

[ ooc: Sure, that work. Just inform my army's intel of your arrival. ]
"Sir, the Santherese have deployed their troops. Send them orders to land near our 2nd operational military base in New Kairos, just about 4 miles away from the secret base. Upon their arrival, I'll order the 10th Infantry Unit of the Regular Army meet up with them for further assistance.", said one of the USVRA soldiers working vigorously on outdated tracking, radar, and radio systems from about 2 decades ago.
Wow, what a shithole. That must be Versile down yonder. Alright men! Ready your gear and listen! In about 20 minutes we will reach our designated landing point. There we will meet up with the rebels, with us we will be using two soviet-made PT-76 light amphibious tanks. Of course, you will be equipped with modified AK-47s. Once we land, we are to secure the area... if you see any hostiles. Shoot without hesitation! Get ready men, we're almost there.
With that command, the young Captain of the Delvirian Federal Guard approached the hangar. Before opening the door, he placed on his essential equipment needed for the drop. A gas mask, a parachute, and as he placed on the gas mask he was sure to tighten it securely. The other soldiers followed suit.
As soon as that was that, the hangar dropped out revealing the island below. The captain and the others watched as large crate for their weapons and ammunition dropped from amother cargo plane down to the island, along with the two soviet tanks. The parachutes immediately went off as soon as both the tanks and the crates became almost tiny in view sight.
PROCEED MEN! GO! GO! GO!
With that, each of the 20 soldiers took their turn one by one, jumping out of the plane. About a minute later, the Captain was the last one on the plane and so he proceeded with the jump. As they got somewhat close, they pulled out the cord, letting their parachutes burst from their bag. They slowly started to land near the designated forest area where they would soon meet the rebels.
