Terre Nationale

January 2nd, the first signs of infection had begun, sixteen had already been infected, ten of which were unaffected carriers which continued their daily lives without encumbrance. The six others were immediately diagnosed by their loved ones to have some kind of flu, only on of the six known infected was taken to a hospital to be taken care of, there the doctors were baffled and did not enter any kind of quarantine mode, and thus two doctors, three nurses and another patient had contracted the infection, only one of the doctors was a carrier this time round.

January 4th, around a hundred seventy people have been infected with the Virus known as RS-1b, Resistant Strain, first, second round of evolution. As all viruses this was incurable by any modern science, and thus the town was considered under quarantine. An armored division along with a mechanized division had begun setting up barricades, any civilians seen attempting to cross to the uninfected side would be shot on sight. Eighteen civilians had been killed with another sixty-one wounded by “warning” shots. Of the over hundred seventy infected nine were now carriers, the previous carriers had succumbed to the virus.

January 10th, over sixteen thousand had become infected of the over hundred thousand that called Jerdania home, four hundred had already died due to the disease, in excess of two thousand had also been killed attempting to cross to the other side. Over forty of the infected where carriers, the previous had again become to succumb to the disease, at this stage the virus could now longer be tracked as doctors and nurses fled to their own private homes.

January 16th, sixty-three thousand lives were now doomed to death due to the infection, another ten thousand lied all over the streets, in the houses, in the public bathrooms, everywhere. Ten thousand had attempted to cross the border at the very least estimates, it was unknown whether any of them passed, however the bodies led all the way up to two meters before the lines of the Collected Army’s main line. The two divisions had three more infantry divisions to support their blockade coming and would be there by tomorrow, as of now the divisions began to dig trenches. Carrier numbers where now unknown, however this number was absolutely unnecessary. The richer of the doctors had maintained LAN and other ground cable lines and contacted the Collected Government, which they used to cry for support and rescue, the doctors were also connected to each other using these same lines and the reports of the infected’s willingness to commit violence to save themselves was increasing, it was estimated that the strain was in its fourth round of evolution, and this was a conservative number.

January 23rd, it was estimated that at least ninety percent of the town had become infected; they were reaching levels of disparity unheard of in the Collected Country since the last civil war which left half the population dead and the remaining with nothing more than their families, ideals, guns and hands. At least fifty thousand where thought to be dead in the streets. The charges on the lines had ceased, except the occasional charge of a small family. The bodies of the tens of thousand were beginning to have a physiological and physical effect of the soldiers on the lines. Of the remaining lines from the doctors half hadn’t sent a message since the 18th and these were expected to have been found and quickly killed. Reports of cannibalism came in from remaining doctors, though these episodes where not at an alarming rate and were seen only as a necessity for survival. Possible infection sites had also shown up in Tazmania and Illoria of the same Area. Two infantry divisions where sent to deal with each city, however by this time citizens were already fleeing and the shooting had commenced, causing a mass outrage in the general public which deemed the use of force completely unnecessary, this movement was further dramatized by the use of pictures and other media outlets.

January 29th, the dead and infected numbers were innumerable. Jerdania was finally authorized for extermination the day before and the bombing runs were commencing on the 29th. In Tazmania and Illoria those infected and non-infected banded together and began to militarize themselves, citing the death of innocents and more than enough of a reason to do so. This combination and collection of such a mass did nothing but further perpetuate the disease, meanwhile the entire Area was becoming infected and small reports of Area 106 and Area 104 becoming infected on their shared borders with Area 105 was coming in. The divisions sent to Tazmania and Illoria were ordered to move in and begin extermination of the entire populace, the infantry divisions attached in Jerdania were sent in for a sweeping operation and would later be used for sweeping of other cities. The mechanized and armored units where moved to form a line across Areas 20, 21 and 22, which would effectively cut off the upper North region of the Collected Country from the Southern, Western and Eastern regions. The line would consist of over twenty million troops; ten million were being picked from draft rallies as the order came about.

February 8th, the near entirety of the professional army had been placed on the line, their trenches shallow and their artillery not set up anywhere near its potential. The infantry division in Jerdania killed the two hundred some remaining lives and then moved to Equatia, where they began sweeping, but encountered heavy resistance. In Tazmania and Illoria the infantry divisions had been completely pushed out of each city and they combined to set up an outpost as they were specifically ordered not to leave Area 105. Unknown to them some of their number had been infected during their encounter and the disease would soon destroy their camp. The civilians soon began to set-up communications with the surrounding Townships and Areas and city-states soon began to sprout up and form militias, however they showed a kindness to the infected, especially those who did not seem sick and this would be a massive mistake. The Collected Government began to prepare their vacuum bombs, biological/chemical weapons and they sent their navies out to blockade the coastal Southern, Western and Eastern Areas.

February 18th, it could easily be said that over two million had fallen to the disease and even more had become to be infected. The infection had spread to the Southern and Western regions, and the city-states there had already begun to crumble under the weight of their diseased populace, only now could they understand why the Collected Government responded the way they did to the disease, and it was too late for them. The Eastern city-states began to harden themselves and soon began to try and unify themselves under one banner. The infantry divisions that had set up an outpost where now completed whipped out with a combination of disease and a counter attack from the three cities they had tried to destroy, Equatia, Tazmania and Illoria. The vacuum bombs, napalm and white phosphorus were being condoned against the infection, though the Eastern city-states were spared the wrath of the arsenal. The Collected Government would have sent weapons to the Eastern city-states, but the major mining centres were in the Southern regions, which had to be abandoned. Twenty-six conscript divisions were being moved to the line, at the same time a massive land armada of flesh was marching towards the lines. The cities were beginning to become abandoned as the bombing had taken a massive toll again physically and physiologically, and now their only hope was to break threw the line, even the ones who had attempted to leave via sea had either been killed or returned with incredibly bad news.

February 27th, the dead were everywhere, corpses stank up not only the cities but the country side also, the scavengers were picking up the disease, but luckily they succumbed to the disease in a matter of an hour and none had made it to the Northern regions, as of yet, however the Northern regions were beginning to train hawks to kill anything flying from the South, though these would be shot as they returned. By now the first waves had crashed against the line, which had been renamed La Traversée de la Mort (lTlM), and a further million had lost their lives to the bullets of the Collected Army. The conscripts had made their home and the next batch was set for a longer training period. The Eastern city-states were becoming swarmed, but in less number than the North and were able to hold them off mainly, albeit loosing two cities. It was now known that the disease had progressed to a eleventh round evolution, where fifty percent of the infected became carriers, this came with at most a month longer time to live and a rather larger amount of rationality lost.

La Traversée de la Mort, .58 Collected Infantry Division

Leroy Smith held his Simonov SKS, aimed it down as another dumb ass tried to break threw the line by themselves. “Scat, these litty fekken retards keep tryen to get threw and we’ll have to start fekken using rocks to kill them.” They both laughed, but they knew all too well the reality of this, by the end of the latest wave Smith had his last magazine in his gun and it only had four rounds left, including the one in the breach.

A massive echo-ish roar, in multitude, came from behind Leroy, but he didn’t bother to turn around, everyone in the army knew it was just another barrage of weapons leveling some cities, some like Smith knew that one of those bombs would hit his town, but it didn’t matter his family was probably already dead, and what he had to do now was to maintain the lTlM. “How long huu give them until they try to pull that ole’ scat again?” His friend gave a shrug in reply, he wasn’t much for conversation, but damn he could shoot.

[OOC: So basically my nation is facing a massive epidemic that had already claimed about 62% of the Terre Nationale’s land mass. The “Collected Country” is in a state of self-imposed isolation, and the only way for the infection to spread now is threw animals, which die quickly after at this stage, and threw land, which the only part of the nation touching land would be the Northern regions. Anything flying over and trying to sail past the blockade will be shot at, but no official statements have been made; (albeit we are practically blasting our own nation into the stone-age,) only government officials can gain access to an internet connection. Land lines are still in use; however those connected to the outside world have been severed. I wouldn’t mind if a satellite caught glimpse though. This is not a zombie RP, basically people who are carriers delude themselves into thinking they’re not carriers and are trying to the lTlM to get safely away from the infection, and therefore death, however, unknown to them, they are infected. My nation’s raw copper, iron and other resources (excluding oil which is in the Northern region) are in the infected regions, and as thus the survival effort is severely hindered by this, and imports would be greatly appreciated, as we do have the refineries up North, simple raw materials would suffice. However, the only way to drop supplies would be via air, unless you’d like to RP my neighbor, although I don’t have a map now I’m going to make one soon.]

The Varangian Mercenary Force
We would like to offer you our services in fighting this infection. We have dealt with similar circumstances in one case and would be more than willing to do so again. All we ask is 1% of the profit of any resource we recapture for five years once you have re-established your nation. In return for this we will assist in the recapture of the infected zone.
