"Greetings to you my fellow beings of The Galaxies. Many of you have heard of me, but few of you know of me. Know that I am The Overmind, The Eternal Will of The Swarm, and I have decided to Serve Thee.
Many of your researchers have studied us, from afar none making it back to you for those attempting to study us in person, and all your researchers agree on a single point, The Swarm is perhaps the greatest example of Evolution and Mutation, controlled, Natural, or otherwise to be found anywhere. This is because we can read Genetic Data as easily as any of you can pick up and read a book, and just as you too can write one, so too can we create new Genetic Data, even if no examples exist previously.
So why then have I flooded all the Communications Networks with my voice so many of you have difficulty forgetting? I offer you a deal. The Swarm needs Biomass, and rather than take it in meaningless struggle, we shall attempt but once to trade for it peacefully. We offer in return for Planets, our powers of Genetic Manipulation, for whatever purposes you might need them for. Trouble surviving on a world with poisonous winds? We will Mutate your settler's Respiratory system to handle them. Aquatic world with no land? We will give you gills. Maybe you've found a world of ash and fire. We will evolve your people to withstand it's trials.
But likewise, maybe not everyone has peaceful aims in mind. Maybe you desire extended endurance well beyond your species normal constraints, or strength to lift mountains. Maybe you desire the secrets to manipulating weaponized energy through sheer physical might as some have witness from our many breeds and Hive Ships.
Whatever your aims and needs, we can fulfill it, for surely your needs and imaginations are far more twisted than my own.
And how much Biomass are we asking for? All Manipulations require that we take from our current stock of Biomass to process them, thus we must make back what we lose, and enough extra beyond that to justify the actions. Thus at the minimum, we require a small world ripe for the taking. Know that we have evolved the need to consume even rocks and metals, things beyond normal definitions of Biomass, and we will take the entire world leaving behind, nothing.
At the same time, we do not need children, or fertile young women or even developing Embryos to do the manipulating. We need only willing adult volunteers to do the manipulating, for we will devour their current bodies to read their Genetic Data, and sow their Consciousnesses into new bodies grown with the requested enhancements.
