The Bridge of the Valiant was in absolute Mayhem. Sparks were flying, smoke was filling the room. Injured officers were lying on the deck in pain.

Bloodied and bruised still stood Captain Langley, a rock of calm in a sea of mayhem.

"Captain, we're twenty seconds from a warp core breach!" Commander Nostrum yelled as she ship shook again.
"Options!" Elizabeth asked.
"Dump the core" Nostrum suggested.
"We can't do that, we'll be stuck out here with no power" Elizabeth said "We need to drop out of warp"
"We can drop out of warp, but we'll take heavy damage" Nostrum yelled "Ten seconds"
"Do it!"

The Valiant dropped out of warp. As she did she began to keel over as she lost main power and began to drift.

"Breach adverted, but we've only got back-up power and systems" Nostrum reported
"Scramble the repair squads" Elizabeth ordered "Send a distress call on all frequencies"

This is Captain Elizabeth Langley of the UHS Valiant, something has happened to our ship and we have taken heavy damage, requesting immediate assistance

A distress call awoke the Reliant's computer from its digital sleep. It thought to itself for a few microseconds, and sounded the General quarters alarm. The lights came up in the control room as crew members flooded in. The ship dropped out of hyperdrive, and got a fix on the distress call's location. The ship jumped back into hyper. ETA one hour. A message sped ahead of the ship. This is the USSPP Reliant. We're on our way.

Gliding Talon had seen a lot during her service. As the only surviving ship of the Unification War a decade ago, she had fired the final shot that would ultimately end the brutal civil war. After that, she had been responsible for the defence of Virmire Station, the colossal space station in orbit of Palaven that had helped save the Hierarchy from complete disaster. Once the fleet had been rebuilt to acceptable levels, the Gliding Talon became the flag bearer, and her captain, Velin Zukarnak, hero of the Unification War, was promoted to Admiral. With the home fleet now capable of holding its own against any external (or internal) threat, the legendary dreadnought was placed on extra-territorial patrol duties, flying the flag in unclaimed space.

Admiral Velin was actually disappointed with the new mission of the Talon. He would have preferred her to be placed into the prestigious role of Flagship of the Home Fleet, but that privilege went to the newest dreadnought in the fleet, Might of the Turians. Which made sense, for the latest class of dreadnoughts had main guns capable of defeating the barriers on the older Talon in any one-on-one fight, but with the honours accorded to her, she should have been heading that first fleet rather than being sent on a pointless flag bearing mission.

Still, he was a dutiful turian, and went about his mission with the utmost of professionalism. He kept the ship in pristine condition with ruthlessly efficient maintenance schedules, and conducted regular combat drills to ensure his crew was the best in the fleet. Turians believed that inanimate objects had spirits, and for a ship such as Talon the culmination of all who served aboard her made for a powerful, honourable spirit indeed. Keeping her in mint condition was the least he could do for the ship which had seen so much and even saved the Hierarchy. She was like a living, breathing person in her own right, and Velin made sure she was treated as such.

His ruminations on the past, and its impact on the present, continued as he made his way into the massive combat information centre of the ship, a hustling, bustling hub of activity from which almost all ship operations were typically conducted. Bathed in dim blue lights, and accompanied by multiple orange holographic monitors, it was a clean and orderly place, belying its age. As per usual, today was proving to be another routine day, with Talon making FTL jumps of one hundred and fifty lightyears with an hour break between each, as they carried out their pointless patrol orders. Unlike their last stop, however, he was interrupted on his way to his seat on the aft platform of the CIC by one of his subordinates.

“Admiral!” Lieutenant Opus Larak called out as soon as he caught a glimpse of Velin walking by. “As soon as we exited the mass corridor, a distress signal was detected.”

“Point of origin?” Velin asked, virtually skidding to a halt and changing course to stand beside the Lieutenant.

“Twenty-three parsecs corewards,” Opus said. “A ship called Valiant, her captain sounds human but I can't find their registry information in our database.”

“So we have no idea who it belongs to,” Velin said with a decisive nod. “Open a corridor and take us there, best speed.”

“Aye sir,” Opus said.

***

Not long afterwards, a large dreadnought streaked into view before returning to normal space. Her sensors immediately reached out and touched everything nearby before focusing exclusively on the damaged ship. Her barriers were raised, but her weapons remained discharged, and shortly after she arrived a communication was sent out on broadband.

“This is the Turian Dreadnought Gliding Talon, responding to a distress signal from this area. We come in peace, and place our full resources at your disposal. We are curious to know what happened here, and if any threat remains in this area. Over.”

“Well that was a waste of time,” Opus snorted as the channel was muted. “They don't need our help.”

“Lieutenant, Turian Military Code dictates that we answer distress calls,” Velin corrected him. “I suggest you read up on it again.”

“Of course, Admiral...” Opus nodded.

“We answered the call, and they were alright, our duty is done,” Velin said, tugging his navy blue and gold jacket straight. “And now we're going to exceed that mandate...”

Opus sighed. “With all respect sir, this is not our concern, the victim is receiving aid now.”

“Lieutenant, it is our duty to identify any potential threats to the Hierarchy and eliminate them,” Velin explained. “And it is our mandate to establish peaceful contact with any nations which are not threats, whether due to capability or intent. To say nothing of the fact that this is a flag bearing mission we're on.”

“Understood Admiral,” Opus said. “I suppose it beats patrolling an empty expanse at least.”

“Justify it however you wish, Lieutenant,” Velin sighed. “Put me back on.”

“You're connected, Admiral,” Opus nodded

“UHS Valiant, we're glad to hear that you're in good hands,” Velin spoke loudly, his metallic voice emanating authority. “I am Admiral Velin Zukarnak, in the service of the Turian Hierarchy Armed Forces. Forgive the active defence barriers, but we were unsure of the situation and were concerned about hitting any debris at superluminal speeds. If you wish it, Talon can remain in the area to provide extra defence while your friends assist in bringing your ship back to serviceable conditions. A show of good faith from the Hierarchy, if you will. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with any sensory data you may have taken from the offender, so that we might keep an eye out for them while we are in this region of space. Over.”

“Lieutenant, please sound alert condition beta,” Velin nodded. “Get that data into the mainframe and see if you can determine a positive match on anything in archives.”

“Yes Admiral,” Opus said. “Running a correlation search now.”

Velin rose to his full, impressive height and rotated his broad shoulders uncomfortably. It was interesting to see how his officers reacted to a change in alert status; after all of the drills they had performed during their uneventful few weeks cruising the cosmos aimlessly, along with their own extensive combat experience during the Unification Wars, every single turian aboard seemed to react instinctively to the changing lights, the sirens and the automated announcements. Datapads were dropped as their holders immediate shifted to different duties, and a multitude of extra holographic terminals flashed to life as additional crew staffed more stations.

“Admiral,” Commander Perok Kasvegen called out. Perok was Talon's executive officer, and had served alongside Velin since before the war, and they were good friends. Now, they were both deadly serious. “All departments confirm alet status beta.”

“Good,” Velin said. “Disengage all non-essential systems, you are now authorised for full weapons activation.”

“Understood Admiral,” Perok nodded, and set about coordinating the significant task of bringing every single one of Talon's weapons online.

“Lieutenant Opus, we need to establish a perimeter around the Valiant while she is out of commission,” Velin said quietly to Opus. “Not just to engage any enemies before they enter weapons range, but also to alert us to approaching weapons before they enter our sensor range.”

“To effectively double our sensor range across an equal radius from the Valiant, we would use virtually our entire complement of scout interceptors,” Opus said.

“Arrange a rapid launch of however many ships you need,” Velin nodded. “And put the Valiant back on.”

“Yes Admiral,” Opus said.

“Valiant, thank you for the sensor information,” Velin said. “We are in the process of creating a defensive perimeter around your relative position, with the intention of detecting any craft before they enter sensor range. This should hopefully give your rescuers sufficient time to focus on completing repairs to your ship. Talon has your back, as humans might say. We are prepared to engage any aggressor which might approach until you are able to get underway, over.”

As the channel closed again, Velin looked up at the senior officers who had now gathered around him. “Honour, duty and discipline. No surrender,” he said simply.

Shortly afterwards, several unusual vessels emerged from Talon's belly, unusual half-circles with forward-swept wings. Scout ships, with short-range FTL drives and extensive sensor arrays, yet minimal armaments. Using IES systems to mask their heat and energy signatures, and their own drive cores to reduce their apparent mass, they began shooting off into space as they created a circle around the Valiant towards the edge of Talon's sensor range.

Somewhere deep in space, not that far from the Valiant, the deploying Scout Interceptors of the Gliding Talon would detect another vessel approaching at high FTL speed. It was not long before it was on the scene of the incident. It was over 700 metres long, and, judging from the weaponry along it's sleek silver hull, it was a warship of some kind. Neither of the two ships in the area would recognise the vessel, for it was not of any race that either had encountered. The vessel was the Alversian People's Starship Foxfire Rose.

"Sir, We've detected another vessel ten lightyears off our port bow,"

The Operations Officer reported from the bridge of the vessel, a Marshall-Class Heavy Cruiser of the Alversian People's Army. The Officer himself was a Kitsune, essentially a human with the ears and tails. He also bore yellow, slitted fox-eyes, all of these contributed to superior vision, superior listening and superior balance. He was about five foot seven inches, with a strong build. He wore the black uniform of the APN, with a katana hanging from the black belt along his waist. His ears and tail were covered in a dark brown fur while his skin bore a pink hue. He looked to the Captain with his vulpine eyes, awaiting the orders from the Captain.

The Captain was a tall Alversian female, who looked suspiciously like a human, though there were enough differences between them to class them as seperate. They were all tall, this Female was over 6 feet of height and slenderly built. She had long brown hair above a slender and attractive face, with full red lips and sparkling blue eyes. She wore the black jacket and trousers of the APN, with a knife tucked into her black belt. She stared at the viewscreen, showing both ships, one of whom was badly damaged and another which appeared to be in assistance.

"Commander," The Captain stated thoughtfully, staring at the viewscreen, "Send a hail, see if we can help"

A message was sent from the Foxfire Rose, which had dropped out of transwarp and was now hovering near the scene,

OOC: Well I am going to post my intro, and if BH wants to he can tell me to retcon it... which i shall without complaint.

There are very few who had lived through experiances like what was about to occur, for there was very little defence against it. The small 6 ship contingent was not familiar to any group who had been on site. Infact the same could be true for the contingent. They had never heard of the nations all these ships belonged to, they hadn't even heard of the Valiants world till just 3 days prior when an annonamous contract had been sent their way. Motives were unclear, but for a mercenary that was really not a concern. Only the completion of the objectives and the recievement of payment. What would they recieve? raw goods, raw metals and expensive particals, all necessary in the rebuilding of a fallen empire. Few in these parts would have ever heard of the Kingdom of Tarsonis, run by a political group known as the Sons of Tarsonis (nation deleted 2 years ago) and that was true even at the height of their power, before the Catacalysm that left billions dead, and only a handful of survivors struggling to keep the blazes of patriostism alive. Using the former kingdom's secret weapons production planet as a base, the only planet to survive the purgings, the survivors realized that they could do "odd jobs" to recieve materials crucial to their redevelopment. As was the case here.

It was doubtful that there were any ships in the quadrent that had the ability to detect the contingent. For they used advanced form of cloaking known to some as an advanced phase cloaking. They moved not through space but through the lines between realities. They saw our universe but as the generators were on, they did not exist in our reality, only silent observers hidden from sight. They had been hired to take out the pitful HMS Valient, but in a clever ploy the ships captain had ejected its FTL generator, dropping it out of FTL travel, causing the contingent to over shoot by over 50 light years. Now they had made their way back only to find more groups had gotten involved.
The main group was in reality only 5 ships, 2 were 600 meters long, but were designed to battle super dreadnaughts, the Scout Class (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/scout_renders.jpg), nicknamed Shipslayers were specifically equiped to deal with ships 20 times it size. with a crew of only 6 the ship was completely devoted to weapons capablities. The same could be said for the 3 Corsairs (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/corsair.gif) that remained, roughly the same size and with almost the same capabilities, the Corsairs were teh predecessors of teh Scouts, but with the dimished capacity of the fleet, any ship was worth its salt. The final ship, was the alexander Class Battle Cruiser (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/BC.jpg), an impressive 6 KM long with weapon systems to boot, though its anti ship capabilites were some what dimished of old, its main function now to prey on the smaller class ships for it was out gunned in 1 on 1 battle with dreadnaughts. but to a tiny fleet of 6 corvetts or so it was deadly. also carrying a contingent of 500 wraiths (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/terran_wraith_complete.jpg) and 100 Valkarye (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/vf-2ss-fighter.jpg) fighters which had soldier mode (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/VFsoldier.jpg) capabilities the BC was equiped to be both Combatant and Marauder. Some would say the group was overkill, but Tarsonians knew to well the strength of numbers and couldnt afford to lose any of their own.

"Sir we are reading around 5 extra ships, all various factions, some simple frigates others look like dreadnaughts, were reading only one ship at an actual combat ready with shields activated."

Captain Marius stroaked his new growing beard his mind troubled. The situation had escolated and needed to be put down quickly. "Instruct both scouts to hit the combat ready ship, use Ion cannons and target shield generators i want that ship disabled not destroyed. The rest... have at them normaly."

Thousands of years in the future when such battles had become legend, people would tell of the Birds of Fire, who would strike with such forocity, and disapear again, that one would question if they were really there at all. But that is story telling for another time. For the those that had riden to the rescue of the HMS valiant, would soon regret it.

Simply put the ships were not there, all was peaceful, and then suddenly they were there. Weapons ablaze. Both Scouts had appeared upon either side of the Battle Ready cruiser from the Heirarchy, and she was being broadsided before her crew knew what hit them. Lucky for her, the ships aimed to disable not destroy, the others wouldnt be so lucky as the corsairs appeared in perfect attack position and unchecked fire smashed into unshielded bulkheads. The BC howerver was never sighted in the first minutes of the onslaught. As quickly as the ships came they were gone. And a lull settled on the battlefield, but it was short lived, for the ships came for a seccond attack their fire finding purchas of enemy ships. However this time shots were returned making purchase on the Shields of the attacking ships. and then they were gone again. this time leaving a message probe behind. Broadcast on every frequency was a simple message. This matter does not concern you, leave or be destroyed. When it was all said and done the only details the sailors could remember of the ships was the Electric Blue Birds of Fire, known to some as the Pheonix, emblazoned on the sides.

OOC: true, but usually threads like this are precursers to galactic conquests. note to all others, since no one posted ill just imply the damage being dealt yall can make up your own minds to the exact extent.

Captain Marius leaned back in his chair, observiing the battle through the view screen. The other ships in his contingent had performed magnificently, suprising the enemy and using that as an advantage. Red lights flashed around the bridge, a signal that happend when the ships were at combat alert status. Other captains claimed the found this distracting, Marius on the other hand prefered it. It sharpened his focus, forcing adrenaline into his veins.

"Take us out of phase cloak" he said, "inform the other ships to stay hidden."
"aye sir." was the reply from the ships tactical officer.

The relatively massive Battle Cruiser entered our space, dwarfing the other ships that had arrived. If there were any noise in the vacum of space the sound would have been deafening as matter was forced outward. Observing the damage to the other ships in the region, some having stood the attack, others listing and spining, dead in the water, Marius's eyes settled on his prey. The small ship could have easily fit inside the hanger bay and for a moment Marius concidered just taking hostages. But he could not, the contract had been made, and he was bound to it.

"Hail the captain of the ship." He said nodding to the communications officer.

"channel open sir."

"I appologize in advance for the travesty that is about to occur, I have no idea who you are or what you have done to deserve such a fate, but buisness is buisness, you have my sympothies."

And with that he nodded to the Tactician officer, and the ship powered ups its many weapons. Antiship cannons turned in their mountings and took aim, torpedo bays were armed as the ship turned starboard bringing all its port side guns to bare. This hardly seemed like a battle, but rather and execution.

"Fire!"

OOC: i thought your warp core was ejected? but no matter.

Captain Marius lept to his feet as the salvo hit nothing but the cold vacume of space. "What?" he cried in disbelief? "Sir we have the ship on sensors, seems they're making a run for it. Using their FTL drive to leapfrog through space."

Marius quickly collected himself, and chuckled softly. "It seems the game is afoot again, instruct our other ships, to hunt it down and destroy it, keep it on it until its is finished."
" Aye sir."

Suddenly there were 5 ships around the massive battle cruiser. Quickly the ships accelerated, like wolves pouncing down on their wounded prey. As the sihps came in range, they opened fire, preparing for it to jump again.

Marius watched with amusement always one to enjoy a good hunt.
"Sir" the ensign at the communications array intterupted the moment " the captain of the Reliant is questioning what to do in the event that the Valiant surrenders." Marius stopped to ponder this. Their contract had been simply to destroy the ship, like a Marauder attack without warning and destroy it, but these men lived by a strict honor code. A captain who lays down his weapons to superior might, was to be givin full quarter, and taken prisoner. They weren't monsters after all.

"Keep to the code" was all he replied. The captain of the Reliant would know what it meant.

"Aye sir."

"Lower the shields, power down the weapons" Elizabeth ordered "We'll have a better chance fending them off in a close quarter battle"

The valiant lowered what was left of her shields and her weapons. Additionnaly the Commincationa array 'spontainisly' exploded.

The sudden change in battle tactics supprised the attacking ships that they soared clear past the Valiant before being able to react... However their dullwittedness was quickly lost as they arce around coming to face the Damaged ships.

Captain Darius of the Reliant cursed as he missed the ships and quickly ordered the turn around. "whats the Valianst status ensign?"

"Sir they have powered down their shields and weapon systems."

"Thats odd. Have they signaled a plea for surrender?"

"No sir. I dont think they can their Communications array exploded for unknown reasons."

The Reliant taking point flew towards the Valiant and then stopped a few hundred kilometers away in a classic meneuver known as "looking the enemy in the eye."(quote startreck nemesis) The other ships took up flanking positions ready to pounce on the damaged warship.
"Exploded comunication aray eh, " Darius commented, "act of defiance or damage from battle... Just what is this man playing at..."

Captain Darius stared down the significantly smaller craft. "Prepare Marine (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/marine.jpg) devisions 2 and 4 and scramble the Mornarian (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/souleclipse01989/Hunter.jpg) tell them to prepare to board enemy craft just in case."

"Aye sir" the message was sent. Marines scrambled to get into their exosuits and grabbed their heavy assault beam rifles. both devisions numbering 30 men each then moved the shuttle bays of the Battle Cruiser. The Attack ships had no room for crews so it fell upon teh Battle chruisers to carry the boarding parties. . The Mornarian Detatchment, Psyonic Human beings, only 12 in all, loaded up with their special weapons, pistols, beam sabers, knives and special rifles in minutes they were good to go and three shuttles carrying the boarding parties were seen leaving the BC heading for the engagement.

"Very good," commented captain Darius, "though i do believe that would be playing into their hands....maybe we should just blow them out of the water. Ensign have we informed Captain Marius about the situation?"

"Yes sir, and we just recieved his reply, we're to offer terms for their surrender, if they refurse we are to board them, see what we can steal and salvage, and then blow it out of the water."

"Very well ensign, open a com.... This is captain Heratio Darius of the Reliant, I see you....even now your ship crumbles beneath your feet... however my Men are not without Honor, quite the opposite,... as such we shall give you this one chance to surrender....you are dead in the water, and heavily out matched...there is no need for you and your men to die today... we know you cannot respond by communication, if you agree to surrender signal with your outboard foreward lights, 3 times for your consent... we await your reply."

IC:

The kinetic barriers on a turian dreadnought, and indeed any turian ship or soldier, were designed simply to stop particles as though they had hit a brick wall; the particular charge of the particles made little difference to the effectiveness of the barriers themselves, which were not conventional shields with generators but were rather a literal barrier generated by the element zero core of the ship itself. Since the idea of trying to use electromagnetic pulses and - for some reason - ionised particles to disable a ship quickly was as old as space travel itself, it was rare for a ship to be unprotected against such assaults. If nothing else, a simple Faraday cage would stop them.

Instead, the assaults simply vanished in a muted blue glow as they reached the invisible bubble surrounding Talon. Her multi-kilometre frame required a powerful drive core, and generated powerful barriers as a result - in practice, it took a concerted assault of brute force against a localised portion of the barriers to penetrate them quickly.

"A small flotilla of vessels has been detected," Perok announced promptly, and almost immediate afterwards the tactical monitors indicated positive hits on the barriers. There was no shaking, and no consoles exploded, for turians had inertial dampeners and fuses. "They have opened fire with ionised particle weapons. Minimal damage to barriers."

"Tactical analysis!" Velin snapped, irritated that anybody would dare to assault a Hierarchy flagship, a legendary one no less.

"Five ships," Perok continued. "They match the sensory data obtained from the Valiant. A firing solution is available via all starboard main guns."

"Enage the enemy, by all means Commander," Velin said. "Give them an equal spread."

"Aye sir," Perok nodded. "Main guns firing now."

From the outside, little appeared to occur; the main guns fired at relativistic speeds and there was nothing to see. But the dreadnought, like most, was accustomed to dealing with ships of its own size, and while there were no pretty fireworks to act as a visual indicator the end result was still impressive - or at least, it would have been impressive had the aggressors not all disappeared at the very moment the guns fired.

"Negative impacts on all shots, Admiral," Perok called out. "That's a negative impact on all shots. Enemy ships disappeared as quickly as they appeared. Some kind of advanced stealth technology I figure."

"Full scanner sweep; re-acquire those targets," Velin shouted. "Talon always has the final shot... always..."

Once more the monitors displaying the status of the barriers flashed with positive contacts, this time turning yellow in several spots.

"We are being fired on again," Perok called out. "They're using something with a bit more punch behind it this time; moderate integrity loss on our starboard side barrier. Some particle penetration."

"Firing solution?"

"Negative Admiral, they've vanished again."

"This is beginning to get frustrating," Velin said, remarkably calm. "Can you predict their re-appearances?"

At that moment, Opus was taken aback as Valiant, their quarry and their sole reason for being here, suddenly shot away at superluminal speeds using a type of space warping technology they were unfamiliar with. So fast was the ship that it disappeared from sensors altogether for a brief moment, though several seconds later it appeared some distance away.

"Looks like the Valiant wasn't as wounded as we thought Admiral," Opus called. "She's just shot off at FTL speeds. They've dropped to sublight a good distance away from the engagement area now."

"Smart," Velin said, somewhat sarcastically. Leaving the protection of those who came to their aid. Velin wasn't sure about the other friendlies, but Talon couldn't pursue at FTL speeds without dropping her kinetic barriers and rendering herself vulnerable.

"I don't think they can hold that speed," Opus said. "They stopped after a few seconds sir. They're open to attack now."

"The enemy contacts have re-appeared," Perok announced. "They are warning us off and... yes, they have given chase at FTL speeds."

Velin squinted his eyes, flapping the fins that covered the sides of his beak-like mouth in a manner that indicated thoughtfulness. Unidentified contacts had engaged them in unprovoked attack, a decidedly one-sided one at that, before telling them to keep to their business. At the same time, the ship they were protecting had left the immediate area in a failed attempt to run away, and now sat vulnerable and alone. Were Talon to open a mass corridor over there to arrive virtually instantly, they too would be unshielded and open to attack, but their sublight drives would take minutes to reach that location - by which time Valiant would undoubtedly be defeated.

Were he not a turian, instilled with military discipline since birth, he'd be punching the bulkheads in frustration by now. Turian lives, particularly those of his crew, came above the lives of aliens, especially when he had no idea what the fight was actually about. His decision was easy.

"Engage sublight drives and pursue at best speed," Velin said. "Re-constitute the barriers on the way. And signal our own warning to those ships. Opus, issue a status update to High Command."

Once Talon had managed to accelerate her significant bulk to maximum sublight speeds it would still take time to reach the new destination. While Velin hoped it wouldn't be too much time, realistically there was little the small ship could achieve on its own against such insurmountable odds. But he wasn't going to take his ship into the battle without barriers, sacrificing more than one thousand turian lives for a causeless fight. Were Valiant to be destroyed before they entered effective weapons range, the battle would be one of honour.

Bridge of the STSS Pegasus Alexander Class Battle Cruiser

Marius sat ammused watching the batltle from affar in the conforts of phase cloaked. The shuttles were on their way and the Valiant looked much like a cat in a corner, knowing its end had come from the huntings of the big bad wolves, but wasn't ready to quit just yet. It was then where Marius had offered the chance of surrender, that the existence of other ships in the are came back to his attention.

"sir the dreadnaught ship was not disabled"

Marius spun his chair around to face the tactical officer. "And why not corporal?"
"The ship is using an advanced barriar shield technology, its...kinnetic energy based. As opposed to the Potiential energy which is basically creating a solid, wall of matter and particles, Kinnetic means the shields are constantly in motion energy constantly cycling through the shield array, it has one weakness though, unlike potential energy which creates a sollid shield that you have to crumble the whole thing, the kinnetic shielding you can pinpoint and essentially open a hole in the shielding."

Marius went over his options, "they already know were here, I find it hard to believe he would just ignore us, but we must keep our ship slayers protected... accelerate to light speed get us in between them."

The Pegasus learched forward, its new subspace rift engines straiing the inertia dampeners as it quickly accellerated. With out tthem, the ship would have been flown into pieces. Quickly it passed the Taurian vesel and as it did the phase cloak disengaged bringing the battle cruiser into real space. It stood larger than the Dreadnaught but not by much. As it made a relatively safe distance the Battle recruiser began to decelerate and turn to starboard much like a car skidding on the road, bringing its starboard guns and torbedo bays to bare against the Dreadnaught. As it finally stopped wraiths and valkaries flew from the ship like Wasps ready to defend the hive.

Marius stood up from his chair walking towards the view screen watching as the Dreadnaught came ever closer showing no signs of slowing. "Open a channel to the ship," he said calmly. " inform them we do not wish to engage in hostilities with their nation, but will be forced to if they interfere."

"ay sir message away."

OOC yay for StarWars Episode 4.

"Sir the dreadnaught isnt slowing down sir."

"thankyou ensign." Marius commented observiing full well the truth of the fact.
"Corporal yous said concentrated can puncture the shields. Open fire, forward batteries concentrate on weapons aft batteries concentrate on engines....torpedos...fire a salvo at their bridge."

If sound waves could travel through the vacum of space it owuld have been deafening as the Pegasus's guns opened fire. Plasma and torpedo's streaked toward its targets in a brilliant light.

"Now fade away head for the Valient. And ready cargo bay 3"

"Sir?"

"Were gonna eat it ensign, were gonna eat it."

ON board the valient.

The stationed troops gaurding the shuttle bay would soon be rewarded for their vigilance for as one of the Tarsonian shuttles docked sparks could be seen from behind the door as fusion cutters began to cut through. The Tarsonian Marines checked their rifles preparing to dive through the door as soon it was opened. "Yeah i saw this movie," one said to the other. "first guy through dies." then the door was open and the Marines surged through a hail of fire meeting their entry. The first marine laughed as the phaser fire hit his exosuit to no effect, but a side shot cut through the metal silencing the man in side.

The battle raged how ever....the crew of the Valient would be suprised.. as the other 2 shuttles circled around. On the bridge everything was calm but with the Valient's shields lowered, they were open to anything. Instantly 30 marines materialized on the bridge opening fire on the crew residing there the shuttles Transport system working effectively.

The decks of the Valient had effectively become a battle ground as the crew was now being flanked from 2 sides. But the battle was effectively a feint. The 5 other ships had pulled away flanking out to engage the Turian dreadnaught as it approached. For the STSS Pegasus, Massivly dwarfing the ship that was only a 30th of its size. ITs underside began to open tractor beams locking on....pulling the Valient into its maw. As the Valient cleared the doors they closed trapping the Valient inside. Hundreds of marines streamed into teh Hanger surrounding the ship.

The marine Sgt laughed after the men had secured the bridge...."Class 5? Hardly, your measily ship probably couldnt generate a size 2, and as for your self destrcut.....theres ways around that. Command Juice the ship."

The tactical comand officer on the bridge flipped a few switches, and in the hanger generators decended from the ceiling. As they powered up and fired, the whole shieled hanger was juiced with a massive EMP, the ships lack of shields would make it vulnerable shorting out every piece of electrical equipment in the ship. However it was a gamble because likely teh main computer was physcially shielded against such tactics.
