Allaneans. Prestonians. Soviets.

Yes, I said Soviets. You heard me right.

For years and years, Allanea remained opposed to world socialism. It remains opposed to world socialism. This has not changed. Allanea is a capitalist country, and it will remain one until its people change their minds on the subject of their individual liberty.

But recently, events have taken place that forced me to reconsider my hard-line position against world socialism. As you know, Allanea is now being attacked from all sides by the Clandonian racist forces and their puppet-masters in Questers and Praetonia. The values of the Kingston Pact have been betrayed, the blue flag of the pact is now besmirched by the blood of innocent Prestonians and Allaneans, murdered by Clandonian traitors.

And why? Because they accuse Allaneans and Prestonians of wishing to spread 'racial communism' across the land. Apparently the idea that racial inequality is bad is 'communism'. Apparently the idea that slavery – still practiced by the Praetonians' buddies in Doomingsland – is evil – that is now 'racial communism'. Well, if that is communism, then I am indeed also a Communist.

Ladies and gentlemen, the idea of racism is, simply put, a form of collectivism more evil and more insidious than Marxism. Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to say that I agree with Karl Marx on one notion: racism is evil and stupid. The Clandonian, Questarian and Doomani leadership are evil and stupid. Frankly, I'd rather have the World Soviet Party as my friends than the Clandonian King William.

Let me restate it: if Capitalism means racial oppression, then I am happy to be a socialist. If capitalism means state-ordained segregation, I am happy to be a welfare-statist. If capitalism means the private ownership of other human beings, then yes, by God, I am a Communist, and proud of it too!

It is always shocking to see the titans go to war over a minor point of culture. It is not surprising, mind you, but the damage and the over-flow from such wars tends to fall on smaller nations such as ourselves.

Opposition to Slavery is NOT Communist. Caring for your Sub-I mean, your Citizens is NOT Communist. Communism is a corruption that enslaves all, and Slavery itself is inherently corruptive in nature, to the point that it poisons both Slave and Master, and leads only to a broader Tyranny.

That you recognize this, does you and your people credit.

We have little free to offer you, save moral support-we are currently engaged in a regional war of our own, but know that you are not alone, and that you are not a filthy red communist.

One might assume that Sultan Abu Saifullah Abdulhadi Wafi ibn Sabur al'Andalusi would have better things to do than dwel on the proclamations of some foreign bigshot. The Jeish Al'Andalus was fighting Crusader forces on all sides as the Taifa of Llión laid into a bomber wing and airborne invasion force inbound from the Empire of The Scandinvans, and Gharnātah's naval aviation destroyed infiltrating Doomani submarines in the Bab el-Zakat, to say nothing of the horrors unfolding in Manûrqa as its residents endured a tremendous missile bombardment.

But even the slightest hint of a possible ally of convenience, or of any making, was enough to ensnare the attention of the second Saburid Sultan of a united and very much endangered Al'Andalus.

Abu Saifullah made a point of expressing his support for Kazansky's sentiments, and airing his nation's plight to a new audience.

After the Empire of The Scandinvans had taken a hundred million non-Catholics into slavery and gunned-down twenty thousand Muslims in the streets of its own cities, the United Taifas of Al'Andalus had launched a punative raid on the city states of Ceuta and Melilla, burning down a cathedral and capturing Catholic community leaders. The intent, said the Sultan, had been to make the world take notice: no Christian nations had so much as openly criticised the Scandinvans for their actions. The world remaind as despicibly stupid as ever, though, and continued to ignore the historic outrage of a hundred million in chains.

But Doomingsland and The Scandinvans had launched into war with Al'Andalus, which was hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned, disrupting trade through the Bab el-Zakat (Strait of Gibraltar) and threatening The Coexistence in Muslim Europe, even as the Doomani Crusaders targeted Catholic civilians who voiced their opposition to the war and deployed weapons of mass destruction against the city of Barshiluna.

Gharnātah, then, was desperate to know if there might be any hope of relief in aligning itself with likely opponents of Scandinvan actions and the Doomani Crusade in Al'Andalus.

A young reporter from the Ancient Terran News Network raises her hand nervously and then stands, notepad at the ready. A colleague to her left has his hands frozen over a keyboard, ready to tap out a transcript onto his laptop.

"Melissa Ariya, Ancient Terran News Network. Mr. Kazansky, are you at all concerned that this sudden ideological shift will jeopardize your popularity at home or abroad? As you know from your fairly recent campaign to return to power, you have an enormous amount of support in the Republic of Ancient Terra through Political Action Committees and grassroots organizations. Whether serious or symbolic, don't you worry that your words will be misunderstood?"

She continued staring straight ahead, bobbing nervously on her feet while whispers hissed around the room.

A special packet is delivered to Kazansky by special courrier from the Taraskovyan embassy. Inside was a small bottle of 100gramms of the best Taraskovyan vodka and a small pot full of salted cucumbers, Russian style. Along with a handwritten note.

The Empire of New Chalcedon was heartened to hear your brave words regarding the evils of racial discrimination and segregation. We are prepared to offer assistance, in the form of trade pacts and treaties, to Allanea, in the hopes of keeping the torch of enlightenment burning brightly. One cautionary note: We advise that Allanea stay well away from socialism and its evils. Whilst frequently motivated by a sincere desire for human betterment, socialism has never yet resulted in true improvement of its citizens' lives. One can dislike conservatism and socialism equally, for equally valid (although different) reasons.
