The former nation of Intelligent Neighbors (can't post on that as revived nation & jolt interaction issues), now ruled by the fledgling city of Ert has announced to the world the introduction of the Revenant MkIII MBT.

"Most military encounters in the present climate fit into two categories. Firstly, close quarter engagements in built-up terrain, ie urban warfare, or large-scale engagements at distance in open terrain. Whilst there are many heavy duty, high-tech tanks that excell at warfare in the open, where their superiour armour and armaments count for something, they typically fall short when presented with confined spaces where attacks may be launched without warning from any direction. The Revenant MkIII (RM3) was designed specifically to fulfil the role of urban armour.

In order to survive and dominate such a situation, a vehicle must be able to cope with incoming attacks once they've hit and retaliate quickly and with enough force to prevent any further attacks. As such, the RM3 features less in terms of defensive computer systems, favouring better post-strike protection instead. Also, the weapon armament of the tank is lighter than expected, the need to fire at long distances with deadly force is not as important as a fast rate of fire and adaptability."

Please see http://www.bottle-cap.co.uk/NS/revenantmk3.html for more information regarding this design.

Attn: Revenant MkIII MBT

Our Division would be interested in acquiring a small number of these tanks for testing and development purposes. Our scientists are highly interested in its designs and specifications. Should it pass our trials, we are looking to form one armour company using this as the MBT.

For your action.

the republic of tubaui is making an order for 36 Revenant Mklll MBT's
this is to replace the aging chieftain mk5's of our first armored regiment.
if they prove to excel in this regiment, then we will procure another, larger amount of Revenant's.

according to our calculations this order comes to $432,000,000

thank you, money will be wired upon confirmation

OOC: That's quite a bit of protection all-round for only 62 tonnes. You have simmilar protection to tanks far heavier in armour. I can't see how that's really done.

Edit: In fact, I might recommend taking it over to the NSDraftroom. I'm not sure your armour scheme will work much better then modern DU reinforced concepts.

OOC: Not really for NS modern/close post modern tech. Check out some of the other leading tank designers' posts (Macabees, Doomingsland) and you will see that this is pretty much spot on. Don't forget the armour values are including ERA, the armour is mostly composite, the amount of ammunition carried is comparatively small and the lack of mortar system. Secondly, the composite armour is well recognised to provide strength equivalent to hardened steel at a much lower weight. Coupled with ceramics and other materials the strength is great indeed. Please can we restrict further debate to TG's? Either this nation or "Intelligent Neighbors". Thanks :)
