2 Miles north of the Ursavan capital of Saáry
A farmer sits contentidly on his porch looking at the stars. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a match, lights it and uses it to light his pipe, creating his own little cluster of stars in the pipes end. All is silent apart from the soft lowing of his cattle and the creaking of his chair as he rocks backwards and forewards. A perfect end to another beautiful Ursavan day.

After several minuits the farmer stands and goes inside to fetch a drink and he misses the one thing that could have saved him. The huge black spot that shrouded the stars just as he entered his house. With a soft humming noise a brilliant white light bathed the farm and pulled several cattle out of the barn with a sickening crunch, the farmer fairing even worse as he too was pulled thrugh the roof of his kitchen and the roof of his house and into the black shape. The last thing he saw was a bull hurtling towards him from his barn.

D.E.S. Dragon wing- bridge
"Status comander?"
"Sampling complete, prepairing to move on"
"Tacticle, restore cloak, I don't want us to cause any more of a disturbance here than we already have"
"Aye sir" The tacticle oficer was silent for several seconds before his console started beeping and, shouting over the racket, he said "Captain cloak wont engage!"
"What? remodulate the shield grid!"
"No effect, shields are failing too! Weapons are going offline"
"Sparky whats going on?" the captain yelled into the intercomm and a humanoid figure buzzed into existance next to him and began to speak, twitching all the while, saying "I CANT tell! PowER core FaiLURE? Nooo! Power REALYS ruPTured? YeS!! PriMAERYs IN SeCtiON 10, Power DIstriBution!" The figure spoke stragely, emphasising words with spasms and a deeper tone "FTL FailING!" the figure said before fading
"SPARKY? Wher'ed he go?"
"Dunno sir, we're loosing systems rapidly"
"Try to get us to somewhere remote, we'll try and repair the relays there. NOW!

In the air above the now deserted and wreaked farm a 400m X 200m silouhet reapeared. Undoubtably the local people would soon detect the object, especaily as it was ocuping 800 cumic meaters of thier airspace

OOC: I think that calculation is right. In case youre wondering why 'SPARKY' is SPEakinG lIke ThiS its because Human-Phy breeds have 70% of thier brian active.. they go a little nuts

In orbit...
VTN Itopiel's Ship Log, current CO Aldo Vern Turner. On recon duty from Command. Mission dispatch, twenty-three point three. Current time, Varian estimate, oh-nine point twenty. Planet deteced, system designated X-991234 in Library Records. Civillisation detected. Non-FTL. Advise monitoring progress.

The ship sat in space, completely invisible. The Archon-class recon craft was one of the prides of the navy. Utilising stolen Chamelon Field technology and the latest heat sinks, the craft was almost undetectable when in stealth mode. It's scanners enveloped the planet below, recording every life form and adding it to Library banks. Eventually, the scanners reached a city called Saáry, and klaxons began to sound.

"Sir, ID'ed craft planetside! Registering as a Dragonan vessel. It appears to be inoperable. Shields and weapons are down, their stealth is deactivated."
The captain propped his head up on his hand. It had been a slow day.
"Aye. Another bunch of amatuers. Maintain cloak and sensor sweeps. Does the planet have any EMP defenses?"
"No sir. Looks clean."
"Can't have been that then. Must be using some outdated capicaters. Moniter the situation, and prepare a HEV pod. Standard Op in this situation is to destroy the vessel in question, and any evidence they have of them. Can't have anyone getting a cheap leg up to the galaxy, can we?"

"What the holy fuck is that thing?" One F-35 pilot asked to his four other wing-men.

"I have nu f'in clue." One replied.

The five aircraft had been on a standard training flight, earning hours until they eventually gained their own promotion, when the large object had suddenly appeared over a strangely torn up farm yard. After a brief radio conversation the object was deemed hostile given the condition of the terrain about it and the five aircraft, which would have passed the vessel at an angle, turned to face it and opened fire with four sidewinder missiles aimed for what appeared to be an engine of some kind or another. Meanwhile, phone calls were made and forces were being prepared including Democratic Guards and Naval Marines.

"Incoming warheads! 20 of em!"
"Shields?"
"Negaive!"
"Barzlun! ALL HANDs BRACE FOR IMPACT"
The missiles shot towards the tripple engine cluster in the middle of the ship (obviously I mean its on the back, but in the middle. I can't describe it better) and 6 of them hit it. The engines flikered and died as the remaining 14 pepered the rest of the aft section
"We're hit! Central engine cluster is down, aft repulsers are 36% intact, we cant keep the aft in the air, we're going down!!"
"Send emergancy distress call while we still can! All hands this is Captain Hun. Arm your selves and get to the emergancy protocal positions in your area, brace for impact!" the captain began to shout his orders to the computer, then the general crew and then, as the main bridge was being evacuated he entered routed as much power as possable to the aft structural integraty and ran after his fellow officers to reach the nearest armoured section.

The ship was, by now, begining to sink backwards towards the ground with a terable groaning as the remaining repulserlift emmiters attempted to keep it aloft. Almost as if in slow motion the secondery-engine-wings smashed into the ground, ripping apart fromk the intitial impact before thier remaning length buckled and allowed the main hull to smash into the ground, creating a considerable crater and dust cloud, not to mention a shock wave that shaterd several hundred windows in the city. The ship colapsed onto the ground, like a dieing animal, and was still, save for the sparking holes in the hull and massive flameson what remained of the aft sections.

"Sir, the ship is under fire."
"Suspected damage?"
"Missile fire from primitive air vehicles. Judging from the impact, I'd say that they've lost their engines. Yessir, they're going down now." An image appeared on the bridge's viewscreen of the craft smashing into the ground.
The captain sighed and stood up.
"Get William into the pod, I'll be there shortly. Contact NavCom, tell them some Dragonan's went down and we're attempting the standard clean up operation. Do we have any splinters on this planet?"
"No sir. At least none on record."
"Shit, they could have helped. Alright, no problem. Unlock ammo depot 252 will you? I need some heavy firepower." Payne walked off down the small corridor, heading for the armory/HEV room.

The pilots circled above the ship as it slowly moved out and the Democratic Guards came out from the city, pedal-to-the-metal for the crash-site. When they did approach, the CV-90s and HUMVs began to surround the area with guns pointed in the general direction of the behemoth. The Naval Marines were being prepared too and they arriced mere moments later to surround the smoking mass, meanwhile Major Botond Makai of the Ursaviani Naval Marines looked at the craft from behind two CV-90s with a disdainful glare. Major Botond pulled a plain cigar from his vest and began to light it up while, miles in to the city, Doctor Patrik Kárpáthy was analyzing info which was fed to him over cameras and by word-of-mouth over radios.

A highpitched keening began to erupt from a pile of scrap of metal not too far from Major Botond's position. The rubble shifted slightly before rising into a swirling coloum and scatering on the ground revealing a human floating slightly above the ground. The human twitched, screamed once and then colapsed, hit the ground with an omunous *thud* and lay still.

Should any of the assembled men look closely enough they would see several clamps attached to the humans head and spine and some black tendrils beginging to cohles around them.

Major Botond swore and he and his men all pointed their guns at the human who had come out of nowhere. The moment he hit the ground he was promptly surrounded by six men and Major Botond himself. Major Botond looked back to the ship for a moment before watching the body again as he spoke.

"Load this body up and take it to the nearest lab and get a team ready to board that ship." Major Botond ordered to the nearby men.

An ambulance which had been in a hospital in the city soon arrived at the scene, the 'human' had his pulse checked, he was treated (assuming he's still barely alive) carefully as his body was put in the back of the ambulance and said ambulance tore off towards the lab where Doctor Patrik Kárpáthy was waiting eagerly for the arrival of this strange new find from the ship. Meanwhile Major Botond Makai went back to the circle of vehicles and watched it while men armed with Steyr carbines, pistols, and other such goods were getting prepared to go in the ship while a team of engineers from the Democratic Guard was going to blast a hole in their hull if needed. After that it was a matter of seraching the vessel for any intelligent life or important finds, storing it away, and scuttling the remains of the vessel.

Another pice of rubble shifted as the ambulance drew off and a Half-dragon like form leaped onto the back of one man, riping his neack apart with its maw and leaping inbetween 2 more, implaing them with its talons raoring all the while in some strange language "loreat wux plythu-iri!" he screamed as he butted another man and caused his skull to cave in before turning towards the Major and scratching his foot againt the ground like a bull he prepaired to charge!

Meanwhile in Armoured node A3 Captain Hun finished feeling for a pulse in the last of the deceased from the bridge, ensign Fa from secondery engineering, as a proximity alert began to ring feebly alongside the several other emergancy alarms. Without further adoe the captain and the remaining 4 bridge officers set out in seperate directions to find survivers in the remaining armoured nodes. The captain, after checking node B4 made a detour to Phi-link room beta where sparky and Phybreed H-2341 were hooked into the ships bio-conduits.

When he reached there H-2341 was the only one alive, Sparky had been smashed in half by a falling roof plate.
"H-32, You all right?"
"I am fine captain. My symbiote is dieing thoe, I'm already loosing my link to the ships systems."
"Can you check the status of the brood?"
"Yes. 3 were damaged in the impact, but the stasis field stayed active long enough to preserve the rest.2
"Thank Y'noh. I'm gonna disengage the interface hold on" With a wave of his hand Hun deactivated the several link up pipes and allowed H23 to walk over to him. The phibreed's black coating retracted around his face, leaving a pulsing blue-glue-like substance in its wake, revealing his pink face.

OOC: Normaly when i say something ominus like 'the brood' I mean a bloodthirsty alien hive/ hord/ rape-fest. This time its the less intimidating batch of 100 Dragona eggs that are near hatching, hense the cows (they were food). I'm not a complete bastard now am I.

OOC: Very sweary today, ain't we Ih8u?

IC: Click.
The last grenade attached to his belt, Payne slung his Protoss MK 3 rifle (http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/9/8528/58623.jpg) across his back, the gun automatically retracting it's stock and barrel, before stepping into the HEV pod, where the other Marine, Iaao Williams, was already locked in, the metal harness strapped over him, similar to the ones on rollercoasters.
"Lieutenant." The man nodded to Payne as the officer's harness lowered. "Whats the SitRep?"
"One of those Dragonan scout craft went down on some pre-FTL planet, outside one of their civ's capitals. Some of their crew are expected to still be alive. We're going in to fix that. Remember, the primary directory on this op is stealth. Don't kill nuthin' you don't have to. Once we're down, we establish a base camp somewhere. We're going down outside the city, so it should be easy enough. From there, we scan for Dragonan tech and signiatures. Anything more advanced than the prim's that inhabit this rock is hostile. Ready?"
"Yessir."
"Bridge, fire it."

Under the 'nose' of the craft, a visible puff of steam was the only true giveaway to the HEV before it fired. Nothing happened for a few moments, then the pod would have appeared from nowhere, if anyone could see it. Again, staying still for a few moments, the pod's targeting computer made minute adjustments to it's course. Then a plume of green fire erupted from the back of the pod, sending it hurtling towards the earth. When it hit the atmosphere, however, something went wrong. The pod was old, being one of the V2 models (as opposed to the modern V6), and the heat generated around the pod on entry caused the targting computer to go haywire. Inside, the two marines did not notice anything, but anyone planetside would have.

The ball of fire that was the pod suddenly turned at a 45 degree angle, it's impact zone changing from the land outside the city to the city itself. It's retrorockets fired forward, slowing the craft down as it neared the ground. It missed an oncoming skyscraper by inches, it's engine superheating the glass window's it passed to melting point. It finally reached the ground, smashing down into a road, sending a car flying from the shockwave. The 4 doors hissed open, the two marines calmly getting up and looking out the door.
"Right, set up a com link with the shi- Shit." The two stood still for a moment while a number of terrified onlookers stared, then made a run for a manhole, ducking down into the sewer system.
