The Republic of Aentarikik was a young nation, eager to meat it's new neighbors. What better way than a neighborhood block party?! In the ice and cold and snow of the Northern Capital; a small city with several buildings all interconnected by a series of board walks stood in the shining light. With the blizzards subsided it was finally time to let people in. The Foreign Chairwoman, The Prime Minister and the President were all preparing for the party. Keeping the kitchen running making tables, preparing for everything. Mi-Rhee Ling and her husband Bang Ling (The President and Prime Minister) were checking down their lists of what needed to be done.
Their daughter Meisha was feeling a tad left out. It was her birthday today of all days and she felt like her parents all but forgot. With four other brothers and sisters all doing their part, she also felt completely useless. Meisha was 13 and blind as a bat. Having to use her cane for guidance and her sort of "sixth-sense" all she could do was listen and be silent. Afterall, her nation needed other nations and what could she do about it. "Hello Meisha." Her guard Yoki greeted. "Hi." She said smiling. "Do you know where Ma and Pop are?"
"Busy in the Kitchen, I'm afraid."
"Yeah figures."
"Do you need something?"
"Well....No -- nothing."
"All right. Oh Happy Birthday."
"Thanks." She walked on down the hall. "Glad someone remembered." She sighed softly. "Come on Meisha, be greatful, some kids don't get a birthday...They go to war or something. I have it good." She reminded her self.

At the south border near the airport and sea harbor the snow cars and mobiles were getting ready. Flags were marked for the guests. Big welcome banners were created for the occasion.

Aentarkik Airport
A lone C-45 transport aircraft descended towards the airport. It bore the seal of the President of the Beatus. The aircraft will old, but had been the favorite of His Holiness, Edwardo Listless, the late revolutionary leader of the Beatus, who led the nation out from under the oppressive rule of a monarch. Since than, no one dared change things he instituted, right down to the Presidential plane. Moments later, the small aircraft's landing gear touched down on the could runway. It taxied to the appropriate spot, the door opened, and President Devin Fogarty, appeared at the top of the stairs, dressed in his finest white suit, with a white fedora, a black tie, and black sunglasses.

Cicero sat back in his chair playing chess with one of his aides. This meeting was important one Imperialis was small in populace but large in spirit allies were needed. Technologically advanced they had much to offer and friendship was their goal. All of these things rolled through his head as he moved his pieces. Cicero moved his bishop and his victory was sealed. The ship came to a halt they had arrived. Their ship was one of the newest vessels in the fleet. Produced in a few days with their technology the number of ships their fleets possessed was limited only by funding and man power.
If an alliance was struck the new Tempest class cruiser with satellite weapon unlink technology would be their own and judging by the port's appearance it was superior to their vessels.
They left the ship via the gang way. The first minister with his guards waited for the representatives of their hosts.

Aentarkik Airport, The Republic of Ark Ivira Government Jet
The Small, Private Jet of The Republic of Ark Ivira slowly began descending rapidly as it approached Aentarkik Airport. It was little more than an airstrip and various buildings scattered around the premesis, with white snow covering all but the runways and taxiways, which remained a relativley snowless grey tarmac.
Other than a lone propeller aircraft and multiple Snow and Airport Vehicles, no other transportation was in sight.
As the aircraft touched down, the noisy drone of engines began to slow and dim before tuning to a low rumble for ground movements, and the cabin lights brightened.
The Aircraft taxied slowly in next to the only other aircraft, and as the cabin door opened to present a Tuxedo clad Leonard Dirvinet and the other sharply dressed staff members, the slow whine of the engines was ever present.
Airport stairs were rolled up to the aircraft, and the Staff safely exited whilst the aircraft then taxied quickly towards a hanger near the other end of the airport.

Isabella Cullen was sitting in the private jet that she was given along with the titles and the powers associated with the post of Consul and was dressed in one of those expensive winter outfits that complimented her voluptuous figure and which was certain to get plenty of attention. This, though, was never her intention. She was known for her fiery speeches and her devotion to her work but she had never once, at least publically, ever thought about procuring a husband or even a lover from which she could get some romantic if not carnal enjoyment. Beside her was Leah Miller who was dressed in an equally expensive outfit that also complimented her looks. Leah and Isabella, if one looked at them, were two mighty fine women but neither of them really cared for the attentions of men. Around them were several emotionless bodyguards who looked pretty well trained and built because, if you wanted to apply for a job as the bodyguard of the Consul and his or her ministers, then you had to be well fit.
"We should be there soon," Leah said as she went through the information on Aentarikik that she stored on the laptop she always carried around. It was her link to everything that was going on the work, or rather, one of many links which was generally considered to be the most convenient. Isabella smiled. She was quite happy to be on her first foreign excursion as Consul. She just wanted to enjoy herself and let Leah do all the work even though she doubted that this would be so. "Excellent, Leah. Do make sure you speak with as many people as you can."
Leah nodded. "I'll try my best but whether a diplomatic venture is successful can never truly be ascertained unless by experience alone. Let's just hope, at the very least, that we return to Foreland with some pretty good results." She closed the laptop and adjusted her dress for a moment. "I just hope that what I say gets more attention then how I look."
Isabella giggled. "Women have always got to expect a meeting with some lewd man who wants to get into their pants. I'm sure, though, that we won't have much problems with them. Especially with our bodyguards around. I wouldn't mind some dancing."
When the jet finally landed at the nearest airport or the nearest designated landing site, Isabella and Leah walked out of the jet with their bodyguards trailing behind in a fashion befitting a president's Secret Service as their hands were in their pockets as if prepared to blow someone's head open in defense of the two ladies. They walked to what looked like one of the host's welcoming entourages and smiled. "We are Isabella Cullen and Leah Miller of the Free People's Republic of Foreland. We are hopeful that you may escort us to the dinner party your nation is holding tonight."
Samantha Butler gracefully disembarked from her plane, having it cruised in lightly at the small airport. The cold blasted her, but hopefully it didn't affect her as much as the rest of the delegates. I have grown up in the north, after all... she reflected, hopping onto a snowmobile that had been left for her use. OK, we're heading for this point. She entered the co-ordinates into a convenient GPS unit Samantha brought for this purpose, and headed for the party. One hour.

Astrid sat back in her chair, thouroughly tired of watching the terrible in-flight movie. She couldn't help but laugh at the whole thing thinking of this. "Why does a Government jet have an inflight movie anyway?" Still chuckling, she turned to the primer that the boys down at Foreign Affairs had whipped up for her and her entourage.
The first thing that struk her about it was it's stark sparseness of information. She twisted around in her seat, beckoning on of the other diplomats over. "Roger, come here for a minute," she said in a preoccupied manner.
Roger, who was on the verge of stepping out into the world as a full-fledged ambassador, rose with a groan from his seat and made his way down the plane. "What is it Helga, I was watching the movie."
Astrid appraised him scorningly. "Like hell you were. Nobody's watching that movie, it's absolutely dreadful. Take a look at this."
Roger looked blankly at the sheet, pursing his lips slightly in confusion. "It...looks rather nice, madam," he said slowly, unsure of how to proceed.
Astrid rolled her eyes. "You don't think it looks a little empty?" she said, tapping the paper in emphasis.
Roger thought for a minute. "Well, now that you mention it, it is a little blank. I'm fairly certain the Defense Corporations one was longer, and that was a weapons company."
"Right," Astrid said, pleased to have made her point. "It makes no sense. You'd think they would have some cultural information on here or something."
Roger shrugged in a I'm-going-to-say-I-guess-but-really-mean-not-really sort of way. "Well, they are just coming out of very deep isolation. Look at it this way," he interjected upon seeing Astrid's face, "the blankness here just means we need to learn as much as possible about Aentarikik. They're new on the world stage, give 'em a chance," he put in a little too heartily.
"Pfff!" Astrid said unconvinced. "Well, we'll see when we get there, I suppose. Never judge a book by it's poorly written prolouge. Hand my that blindfold," she added as she leaned back in her seat.
Roger complained passing it over wordlessly, if grumpily. The hell with her, he thought with a snort. He, for one, looked forward to meeting the new guy on the block.

A few hours later, the plane touched down at the airport. A groggy Astrid made her way down from the plane and onto the runway, along with roger and three other diplomatic understudies. The next transports arrived at the Capital and they were shown inside the room.
"Welcome to the party. We are happy you could make it."
President Zigana Saáry looked at the six members of the Ursavian White Spear. They were experts in mountain combat, snow warfare, and VIP protection. They were silent though, and their military builds made Zigana have to avoid stiffling a small laugh: square chins, buldging triceps and biceps...black suits with white button-up shirts and ties. The small aircraft, which despite having been small enough for the airport, was still mostly empty save for the pilot, co-pilot, the four soldiers, and Zigana herself as they touched down on the runway. They knew they were late for the party but affairs of the state were far more important than dinner parties. As the aircraft touched down all five people donned warm coats (with all five of them all wearing Ushankas: all light gray to confuse snipers in a crowd) and went down the steps where they already had prearrived transports in the form of a Volvo Tracked Over-Snow Vehicle painted generally white save for the bright orange roof, hood, and doors: bright enough to be spotted if one was determined enough but not if the vehicle was moving too fast. Zigana and the soldiers loaded in while the driver started up the engine and started for the location of the party.

Cicero left you ground car his aide in tow. He pulled his pipe from his pocket and lit it, a little tobacco was what he needed after the long car trip to settle his uneasy stomach. The ground car containing his five bodyguards arrived. They were all dressed in business suits like his own this was trip was for business not pleasure they had a mission to accomplish.
The bodyguards surrounded the first minister as they waited. One thought crossed Cicero's mind why did the emperor want an alliance with this nation there were many like it but why this one? He was young and brash but not stupid. Representatives approached Aentarkik and Cicero greeted them in a friendly Imperialis manner.

Isabella and Leah walked calmly into the ballroom with their eyes scanning their surroundings in the search for possible officials to talk with before they took their seats at one of the tables. Eventually, after some light conversation, Leah decided to find the wine table, wondering if the host nation made any wines of their own, while Isabella sat alone at the table, open to any prospective suitors and foreign leaders, thinking about her plans for Foreland.

Isabella smiled as she noticed Cicero walking towards her and decided that she would talk to him. He did look like one of the foreign representatives and, thus, he'd be a pretty good person to talk with. Besides, she was the leader of Foreland, and she didn't really view being antisocial as a desirable trait.
"It's nice to meet you as well. I am doing quite well. I am Isabella Cullen, the Consul of the Free People's Republic of Foreland. Who might you be?"
Leah, meanwhile, was sipping the wine from her glass while demurely watching Isabella and Cicero; a grin came upon her face as she watched. She wondered if she'd be talking to any diplomats from foreign lands or from the host nation. Either would be good in her mind. Perhaps she would soon be called over so she could introduce herself to Cicero. She wouldn't have minded that. This was a social gathering, after all.

Astrid carefully steped down from the snow-car and wrapped her coat even tighter around herself. If she had thought the country was a chilly as possible already, riding headfirst into the wind had given her a suitably different perspective.
She gently opened the door to the hallway, where she and her fellows took off their coats and hats. After taking a moment to fix her hair from the abuse of the elements, she and her understudies turned the corner and emerged into the ballroom.
She couldn't help but be somewhat impressed by the sight. The room was, in fact, well furnished and classily designed. Perhaps I did judge them too soon, she thought with a shrug. Noticing the wine table, and the few guests already gathered there, she decided to make for it and have a go with what she presumed to be Aentarikik's finest wines.

The Snowcat, after traveling the distance to the party, pulled up to the appropriate area and came to a park. All four White Spear special forces soldiers got off first followed by President Saáry herself. Then, in black coats and light gray Ushankas they all headed for the the main door. There they were greeted like any other foreign political figure and then headed inside where they took off their coats and hats. The four men were nearly bald and didn't have anything to worry about when it came to hat-hair but Zigana promptly pulled a comb from her pocket and combing her hair straight before fixing it in to it's usual pony-tail. Then Zigana headed in to the ballroom with the four men following her: watching anybody nearby through sunglasses that hid their eyes from said people.
Zigana headed for the wine table while looking at all the other foreign nationalists that filled the beautifully designed room.

Leonard Dirvinet and his group were slowly escorted to a large snow car by the aids, taking in their surroundings as they went.
The trip was short and fast to the Aentarikik Northern Capital, where the party was being held, but the scenery was amazing. Much of the surrounding terrain was covered in a huge blanket of snow and ice.
Leonard made sure to brief his staff members on what the party would entail, although he was quite unsure of what it would look like himself.
Finally, the snow car pulled up around a large circular drive to the main entrance into a large, ornate ballroom.
Upon exiting the car and striding through the large doors, The Ark Iviran Group was warmly greeted and taken of their overcoats.
"Ok, here we are," Leonard said to his staff "Feel free to mingle and chat."
As the rest of his group began to scatter he quickly pulled them back for a final word.
"And please, whatever you do, try not to sour international relations. Were rather new on the world stage and it would be a shame to upset anyone this soon."
With that, Leonard began to move away and chat with some of the other diplomats it the room.

President Lin was finishing her dressing in her quarters. Her daughter Meisha sitting on her bed. "I bet you look pretty ma, you always do."
"That's sweet of you dear."
"Are you wearing the presidential seal?" Meisha asked.
"No, I want to go incognito for a short while."
"Why?"
"Well, you never know who the two-faces are in the crowd. You always want to see who's really here for relations and who's here for something else."
"Ma, you don't think..."
"No. But it's a rough world."
"What would we have to be exploited. We're a country on a giant-ice cube."
"Yeah, your right. Meisha, are you okay, you haven't said much today."
"I'm fine."
Mi walked over and felt her forehead. "You feeling all right?"
"I'm fine ma. Go on, go mingle with the guests."
"Alright, if you need anything, you can send for me, sweetheart."
"It's fine. Go on."
Mi kissed her daughter's head and left to go talk with the guests.
Meisha stood and began her usual walk-to-think around the grounds.
(Meisha can also interact with any guests. As well as the rest of their children. Prime Minister Lin will come soon)

Leonard was surprisingly enjoying himself. He wasn't usually one for parties, but this one seemed to have a nice atmosphere.
He took a small sip of his glass of wine and looked about.
A woman had entered across the room. She looked to be Aentarikik, and Leonard wanted to learn more of the culture.
Leonard walked toward her and introduced himself.
"Leonard Dirvinet, Deputy Foreign Minister of The Republic of Ark Ivira." He said politly. not sure if it was proper ettiquette to hold out his hand, he simply decided on a slight nod of the head.
Leonard looked around again.

"It's my desire as well that we end up being close friends. As for technology, I think we'd like an assortment of it if you get my drift. As for a formal conference, I think that would be a pretty good idea. Leah can represent Foreland while you, Cicero, or someone else could represent your nation."
Leah nodded her head. "I wouldn't mind visiting your nation. I haven't really been outside Foreland and I've only been recently appointed to the post I have. That's because Isabella just recently won the election we had some time ago."
Cicero was quite pleased that his nation and he had made some new friends in the world. "I will put together a package of technologies that you will enjoy. I will represent my nation at the conference," Cicero said turning his attention to Leah. "If you wish to visit my nation you can come back with me if you want. Its a lovely place this time of year. If you wish you can stay at my residence, it would be nice to have some company besides the staff I am alone there".
Cicero then noticed the scuffle. How dare that man threaten that woman and her nation. They think they can just come into this place of peace carrying weapons. I should teach them a lesson that the pen is mightier than the sword. Those child with nations. Cicero than remembered his own time in the Polaris war. The horrors returned which he quickly suppressed. He wrote something quickly on a piece of paper. "My friends I will be back in a moment", Cicero said bowing to Leah and Isabella.
He walked over to Brent and Al-Asad who were discussing smuggling of arms to destabilize that woman's nation. "Gentlemen you think you can walk in here dressed in your uniforms and bearing your arms. Well guess what today you shall learn why my pen here is superior to that assault rifle there",Cicero signed his paper and gave it to Samantha. "That is a letter stating that she will receive military aid years ahead of whatever you have. Also it contains a nice little section on how we will give a full military alliance if she so wishes it. You there (Brent) if you ever threaten a Woman in my presence ever again you shall regret it," Cicero said his rage building.

Leah grinned at the thought of staying at Cicero's residence; her mind instantly filled with the assumption that he had some romantic motive behind his proposal. "I believe that it wouldn't be a problem visiting your nation, Cicero, since we could probably get the diplomatic conference immediately over with after this party here. Wouldn't you agree?"
Isabella nodded. "I believe that sounds like a good idea. You would be more than welcome to visit Foreland, Cicero, when you are able to do so - it would only be fitting to reciprocate the generosity."
Al-Asad spoke to Cicero in a more respectful, quieter tone that he had been using that evening. "I have no interest in starting a war with you or the woman. I simply overheard an old comrade of mine speaking of smuggling, a, how do you say it, past time of mine." Al-Asad took a seat. He placed his glass down on the table gently. "There is no need for a war to start because of my friend is a little drunk. Please, sit. Tell me what technology you can offer my men." Al-Asad motioned at Cicero to sit.

Cicero, you're more than welcome to visit Foreland after the conference if you would prefer that. I'll make sure all the necessary arrangements will be made for such a visit."
Leah grinned while speaking in a rather demure tone. "That all sounds pretty good to me, Cicero, and I'm very hopeful our nations can become solid friends. Foreland is always willing to make friendships with other nations; the Free People's Republic desire to know everything it can about the outside world."
Leah noticed that Cicero had a non-political interest her but didn't seem too concerned by the notion. She was a single beautiful woman who had risen to the post of the Foreign Minister of Foreland and she hadn't really made plans to settle down. Even if she was to get hitched with Cicero, she thought, who knew if he would really be all that good. Nothing is ever certain.

Leah was convinced that Cicero was acquiring a romantic interest in her but she couldn't just jump to conclusions with this so, instead, she decided to give him what he wanted. "As the Foreign Minister of Foreland, it is my responsibility to represent my nation whenever I am called but, when I am not working, I generally devote my time to a variety of interests including researching the history of my beloved nation and the usual cultural pursuits which many posess."
Leah demurely smiled. "I don't have anyone to share my life with if you've been wondering about that, Cicero, but don't go thinking I'll become your wife or anything like that. I'm not that sort of woman. When I'm ready, I'll find myself a sturdy man who can provide for me and who can love me for who I am rather than how I look. People have said I'm a voluptuous woman plenty of times."
She suspected Cicero probably had the same opinion.
