History

The Acerian Federation started out as a small republic on the main homeworld Aceria. In 2008, the space age began when Acerian space shuttles began bringing the first colonists to the main moon of Aceria. The Empire began to expand into nearby systems. Eventually, after hundreds of years, the Republic began to collapse due to internal pressures, and Acerian civilians revolted against their government. Despite democracy, the government was brutal and managed to keep power out of the hands of civilians, military leaders were the most influential. The Civil War would change Aceria forever.

The civilians were backed by a few military leaders who had defected. The most well know was General Stylus. He defected his entire command and lead the rebels to victories over Republican troops at the key world of Edrra. That was when the Republicans themselves gave all the military and government power to a unknown general named Filmix. Filmix then reorganized the military and used the navy to nearly destroy the Council of Acerians. The rebels resorted to desperate measures. Plasma weapons utterly destroyed many planets during the twelve week period called "Hell Weeks". The death toll was appalling to both sides, but they kept on fighting. Stylus nearly defected back to the Republicans but he was convinced by rebel leaders to keep on fighting.

The ten month Battle of Eden begun. Eden was a strategic planet that had the entry way into the industrial planets of the Republic. The rebels regrouped and dozens of rebel Legions were transported to Eden. The Republican forces also moved to occupy it, sending its own legions to combat the rebels. Large battles on the ground erupted as rebel legions arrived at fight. Meanwhile, the Republican navy fought battles in space with the new rebel navy. On the ground, the Republican forces had left a gap in their lines and the rebels shattered it and seized Filmix and his entire command, which effectively was a rebellion victory. The Republican navy pulled out, despite that it was intact, now the rebels in control on the system.

For the rest of the war, which last ten more years, the Republican military was on the run, driven away from system after system. Eventually, the Republicans surrendered their remaining military to the rebels at Aceria, bringing the end to the thirty three year war that had killed billions and nearly brought the economy to a total collapse. The rebels were tasked with rebuilding the Acerian systems, and more importantly, a new government. The Federation was ruled by one ruler who had the support of the Council of Lords.

Now the Federation continues its predecessor's policies of expanding its area larger. As the empire expands, the Federation's massive merchant fleet becomes vulnerable to attacks by pirates. The Federation navy, tired of tolerating very little pirate activity, drops plasma missiles on one of the largest pirate moons, destroyed the surface completely, resulting in a one week war with the pirates who now call themselves the "United Coalition". The United Coalition is quickly crushed and its members scattered and forced to move piracy operations elsewhere.

Overall: Bossix is one of the most valuable systems in the Federation, it holds a larger percentage of industrial production in the Federation then any other system. Most of the population works at those factories, helping produce hundreds of merchant ships per year.

Military of the Federation

Ship Weaponry:

Mega-Pulse Phaser: A massive phaser capable of destroying capital ships in one shot. The weapon is also capable of glassing planets. However, it takes quite long to cool down before firing again. Mega- Pulse Phasers were normally used on large Acerian capital ships or in Fortress Fields.
Gauss Autocannon: A powerful weapon that is used to bring down enemy shields and wreak havoc on enemy ships.
Tachyon Beam: A powerful beam weapon that can be deadly against any target.
Heavy Blast Cannon: Very powerful against armor, though mostly ineffective against shield.
Auto Blaster: A fast firing blaster that is used against small craft or missiles.
Nuclear Lance Penetrators: A devastating weapon that fires a penetrator rod with a reaction mass of Uranium, Plutonium or some other radioactive element that collapses upon penetration of a hull and collides with more of the same element towards the end of the penetrator and reaches critical mass. This results in a nuclear explosion going off INSIDE a starship.
Graviton-contained Fusion Core Torpedo (GFCTs): This weapon literally throws a compressed fusion reaction (the equivalent of the core of a star) at a target. Needless to say, ouch. It is attracted to the gravitational signature of starships. Quite accurate. Great for trying to burn off the atmosphere of your favorite enemy.
Scatter-pack Missiles: Missiles that break apart into mini-missiles within the warhead that then engage their target at close range. This can be simulated by adding higher damage and more difficulty to intercept by point defense weapons. Used also as a defensive weapon against enemy missiles.
R.E.A.P.E.R Weapon: Ever wish somebody would just disappear? Well now you can make that a reality! The patented R.E.A.P.E.R. weapon affects targets at a molecular level, and comes in two settings. The “Implosion” setting (Setting One) forces all atoms inside any object, be it organic or artificial, living or not, to break their ionic bonds and spread out as if in a liquid or gaseous state, essentially causing the structure to collapse. The “Heat Death” setting (Setting Two) causes the maximum achievable entropy between the basic molecules at an atomic level though exciting the atoms so any friction causes an immediate degradation in the structure, meaning that the very existence of the target in reality will cause it to tear itself apart from the miniscule vibration of the atoms. The time elapsed between the firing of the ray and the destruction of the target depends on the spread used; focusing it results in the immediate neutralization of the enemy, but can only strike a single target, while the ray form requires several seconds of concentration, but can eliminate multiple foes. Visually, the firing and results of both Settings against a target look identical, although tests have shown that organics will suffer significant (if brief) pain when Setting Two is used in a spread against them. At this time the R.E.A.P.E.R. is recommended against static, slow-moving or individual opponents, due to the relatively slow rate-of-fire (one shot per second), and cannot penetrate most force fields or shields, though it is effective against unshielded starships. Obliterator class Battle Platform

Each Battle Platform consists of two main parts: The two-pronged pitchfork-like lower ship, and the larger dome that rests atop it, the higher ship. The lower ship is eleven point twenty five hundredths kilometers (seven miles) long, and is where the bridge, hangers, main engines, power core, heavy weapons, primary brig and sensory arrays are located. On the end of each “prong” is a main engine, with maintenance rooms, power cores, and sensory arrays along it, while the “handle” part is where the bridge, main weapons, primary brig and hangers are. The very front of the handle, after the armor, is where the power supplies for the main weapons are located, while the primary brig comes after that, then the bridge and finally the two hanger bays on either side. The primary brig is capable of holding a maximum of five hundred human-sized beings comfortably, and has been fully outfitted with security measures and facilities for the detainees.

The bridge is outfitted with a full video feed view over the entire ship, inside and out, and all systems can be controlled from here, either by biological operators or the resident KABAL A.I. The bridge is fully shielded and armored against EMP and Ion blasts, and has room for up to thirty officers, though the entire ship can be A.I. controlled if the option is so chosen. The main engines give the Battle Platform an impressive Hyperspace rating of 1.2, or .9 if all power is routed to feed them and the dome is unattached. The main weapons consist of a single Red cannon located inside the armor with a special containment field which vents near the Aries class engines, which can annihilate most, if not all unshielded ships with a single shot and do large amounts of damage to shielded vessels. Installed also is three thousand, seven hundred main Phase plasma cannons for anti-capital duties, situated at three meter (ten foot) intervals along the main part of the lower ship. The dual hangers can carry three hundred Probe Fighters each, and is fully equipped to maintain and repair them.

The higher ship is a hollow dome, situated on top of the main part, and serves as a detachable base. Eight point four hundredths kilometers long (five miles), the dome contains its own atmosphere inside a mile-long training field, as well as crew quarters, cafeterias, VR training stations, armories, vehicle compliment storage areas, twin protective shield generators, power supply tanks for exterior weaponry and a secondary brig, holding a hundred detainees, and auxiliary control for piloting the dome or in the event the lower bridge is destroyed or knocked offline. The dome can be set down on a planet, moon or asteroid to act as a mobile base for ground operations, or a small orbiting station. The dome is heavily armored and shielded, and has one Anti-Air plasma cannon every two and a half meters (eight feet), for a total of ten thousand AA guns covering the surface. The dome has no spatial propulsion system independent of the lower ship (though thrusters on the bottom allow it to lift off, move, albeit slowly, and land to a limited degree on the ground), and relies on the lower ship to move and reattach it in space and orbit. The dome is capable of holding and sustaining a maximum of two hundred and fifty thousand troops, and the storage bays can hold up to one thousand tanks, two thousand recon vehicles, two hundred artillery pieces and five hundred gunships.

Overview:
Established during the peak of the Korr War, Kyat Drive Shipyards sought to be contracted to build strike craft for the Kitsune Empire to corner the market on next-generation military craft. However, they were narrowly beaten to it by Nakamoto Dockyards, and turned to attempting to design a vessel to fulfill the need within the Alversian People's Navy (APN) for a Customs ship to pursue and capture smugglers. The craft KSI proposed, the Black Raider class, was, however, rejected by the APN for two main reasons: Purchasing and maintaining large quantities of the class would be far too expensive for the budget, and the standard Black Raider was too small for their needs, specifically to carry a full boarding party and compliment of heavy weapons necessary to take a enemy vessel by force using ship-to-ship combat soldiers. Undaunted, KSI withdrew its design and all but fell off the radar, channeling funds and personnel into the Black Raider project while producing a line of engines and sensors for sub capital ships. While the true amount it known only to KSI executives, it is thought billions, if not trillions of credits have been poured into the endeavor, and hundreds of sentients from all different professions have been employed to KSI.

To any outside observer, the accomplishments of KSI would look pathetic: Three types of engines produced for the market, one brand of sensors, a few weapons designs, one ship design and only eight vessels for that class. However, the Black Raider class is highly sought after by all manner of outlaws and smugglers: It is commonly hailed as being one of the fastest ships that doesn’t require a reactor, being quick and nimble enough to dance circles around fighters, outrun anything the size of or larger than a light cruiser, and able to make anything the size of a frigate or smaller severely regret catching up with it. However, the ship itself costs a staggering amount of credits for one of its size, so none but the wealthiest can purchase it. Though the Black Raider class is capable of functioning compatibly with virtually any ship technology in the Known Galaxy, it suspiciously reaches top performance with the parts tailor-made for it; specifically, those produced exclusively by KSI. In the hands of a criminal, a Black Raider class ship would be invaluable: Able to outrun or outfight any Customs ship chasing it for smugglers, able to slip though planetary security on most modern planets for assassins with its cloaking technology, amazingly fast and certainly superior to any other craft of its size, it would be the gem of a pirate fleet.

Physical Description:
All Black Raider ships have a unique trapezoidal shape, and their initial color is that of their armor, a dull silver. They are equipped with two Colstream class engines with are capable of achieving one hundred twenty MGLTs (sublight), and has a cargo capacity of seventy metric tons. The cockpit is situated three feet (one meter) above the bow laser cannons, and it is from here the many systems, such as the weapons, engines, shields, physical and electrical countermeasures, gravity flux compensators, flight and navigation computers, vox, transmission and transponder units, signal jammer, sensor and scanner systems and transmission interception units, are controlled from. The interior consists of four compartments: The five by eight by eight foot (1.5 by 2.4 by 2.4 meter) cockpit, the twelve by ten by eight foot (3.6 by 3 by 2.4 meter) main room with adjoining bathroom, the three by ten by seven foot (1 by 3 by 2.1 meter) engine/FTL drive service area, and the ten by ten by eight foot (3 by 3 by 2.4 meter) cargo hold under the main room and service area. Entry to the Black Raider can be achieved by the cargo service ramp that extends from the belly of the cargo hold, the cockpit door on the starboard side, or the personal hatch located above center of the main room.
