ASoGM looking to purchase scrap metal

Gun Manufacturers
12-01-2009, 08:12
The ASoGM is currently looking to purchase scrap metal in various forms. From junked cars, to rebar, to beverage cans, to demilitarized weapons and vehicles, we are interested. Steel, aluminum, copper, and brass are on top of the list, although the ASoGM will be able to recycle any metal offered. If interested, please send a message detailing the amount of scrap metal to the Minister of Trade, Donald Gruff, so he can give a proper offer based on current scrap prices.

To the ASoGM,

We have read your message, seeking scrap metal. A recent business deal gone wrong, as left us with large quantities of iron pyrite. Six tons to be exact. We wish to know if you would be interested in purchasing this, overstock? Also, we wish to know if you will be picking it up, or if we will have to ship it to you? I await your reply.

RE: Iron Pyrite

We would be interested in purchasing the Iron Pyrite, at a price of $1 per pound, for a total of $12,000. Assuming this offer is acceptable, we can send a civilian C-130 to pick it up, once it is placed into suitable shipping crates.

While we appreciate the offer, we are not looking to pay that much for scrap metals. You offer 405 imperial tons of mixed metal and wood for $22,500,000, and yet by our calculations, unsorted materials containing mostly steel have a market value of approximately $158.40 per ton, for a total of $64,152.

To whom it may concern,

On behalf of Terran Royal Motors (NSSE: TRYM), the Republic of Ancient Terra offers you approximately 282 tons of assorted waste alloys derived from the automobile manufacturing process, primarily steel but also containing significant amounts of copper and aluminum along with small quantities of nickel and titanium. A recent industrial mishap at their Kamaboko Automobile Plant has left them temporarily without the means to properly reprocess or store these byproducts. The municipal government intended to fine Terran Royal Motors or force them to finance stop-gap measures, but under the circumstances they are willing to give it away for free provided that you handle the transportation and customs arrangements. The Terran government is amenable to this course of action, hence this message.

Please respond quickly; I have a number of alternately nervous or irritated factory managers and CEOs snapping at my heels, and this does seem to resolve the situation to everybody's liking.

Sincerely,

-Dr. Greg "Kuma" Egan, Assistant Deputy Minister of International Trade Relations, Harima Provincial Government-

Given the low grade of this weaponry and the fact that many weapons violate Ursavian laws on civilian weapons that which we deem unneeded (approximatelly seventeen-thousand tons of the original) is up for sale if you wish to purchase it.
