Princess Elena had a small figure, very petite. She had long flowing black hair which went down to her waist.
She was wearing a typical medievel dress for royalty (http://archive.liveauctioneers.com/archive4/profiles-in-history/16511/1079_1_lg.jpg)
She was sitting in the central courtyard of the royal palace. beutiful flowers grew up the walls and the gardens were kept nice and tidy. 4 stone benches were in the middle. Elena was sitting on one of them reading a book. It was beutiful weather not a cloud in the sky and birds could be heard twittering and singing all around the courtyard.
Queen Andrea, Elena's mother emerged from one of the wooden double doors at one end of the courtyard. She was wearing an elegant gown
"My dear" said Queen Andrea walking over and taking a seat next to Elena
"What book are you reading?" asked Andrea
Elena marked off the page she was reading and handed her mother the book
"this one? 'The tales of Sir Desaune' Oh you use to love this book as a little girl, do you remember when your father use to read it too you? He would put on the accents and voices of each of the characters....."
Elena looked down at her feet
"Cheer up dear. He will be back before his birthday like he promised"
"But thats months away!" said Elena
"Calm down dear. Your father has a kingdom to manage. Remember you have that trip to Lyons castle to look foward too. Remember? He said he would take all of us to Lyons Castle for two weeks of family time"
Elena sat quietly
"Well.... Here is your book back, I'll leave you too it" Andrea stood up and left the courtyard

Elena walked down the halls of the palace towards her bedroom when she saw her brother, Prince Adrian (heir to the throne) walking down the hall with the daughter of the Lord of Forin.
Prine Adrian was 20, full of youth and stregnth, quite vain and extremly handsome and goodlooking that he had the eyes of all the maids in the castle.
"Well hello little sister" He said
"You've met Ann before havnt you? At that dinner party last summer"
"Yes I remember, how are you?" said Elena doing a small bow to Ann
"I fine Princess, Your brother was just showing me the sights of the castle" she replied
"But youve been here before" said Elena
Ann went red in the face
"Yes, well, its been a long time.... It all looks so different" she said letting out a fake and awkward laugh
Prince Adrian interupted
"Well little sister I'll let you head on your way. My bedroom is this way" he said Leading Ann down the hallway

It was now late in the afternoon. Elena was stairing out across the grounds with Linistria city in a distance when she saw a figure on a horse gallop down the entrance path followed by 5 other figures on horses. The trumpets then sounded. Elena lit up with excitment
'Its Father!'
Elena ran excitedly down the corridors and staircases passing servants and guards before entering the grand hall. As she entered the grand hall the King and his guards were entering the Main doors
"Father!" Elena yelled
She ran down the steps and gave her father a big hug and he hugged her back
"Your back early!" she said
"I thought I would suprise and family. I've missed you all. Where is your mother"
"In the sun room I think"
"What about your brother?"
"With Ann" she said
King Barbus stood "Ah I see" he said with no emotion, knowing what was going on with the two

The dinning room was filled with people. The King and Queen sat together at one end with Elena next to them. Prince Adrian was further down the table with Ann sitting across the table opposite him
Barbus stood
"There was more to my surpirse visit then I was letting on. Both my dear children are of age and both are responsible and educated. Lentania needs to grow and we need a healthy royal family with heirs to ensure our dynasty continues to lead our beutiful and peaceful Kingdom. Which is why contact must be made with other Kingdoms to find suitable additions to the royal family. To my son, Prince Adrian next in line to the throne. As future King you will need a wife and to the greater benefit of of your Kingdom she shall be of foriegn blood to help stregnthen ties"
Ann was in shock that tears were almost welling up in her eyes It was clear to everyone that her father Lord Toliori of Forin wanted to insert his daugter, Ann into the royal family to stregnthen his own influence and power.
"And to my prescious, beautiful daughter, Princess Elena. Your future lies in a foriegn land. You would be a great representative of the Kingdom of Lentania and you will make a most excellent Queen to your foriegn King in his native land"
Elena was also in shock, she had no wish to leave Lentania and be married off to some man she didnt know and would most probably be twice or three times her age. She had heard horror stories of foriegn monarchs marrying princesses only to have them beheaded if they displeased them.
"Invitations have been sent out to Kingdoms with suitable suitors where they will be guests at our castle. Now let us enjoy the feast before us" said King Barbus
Elena didnt want to eat instead leaving the dinning room
"Should I..." said Queen Andrea about to stand
"No, no let me" said Barbus
The King left the dinning room and pursued his daughter
"Elena. There is no need to worry" he said standing next to her on a balcony down the hall from the dinning room
"I'm not ready! Dont I get a say in any of this?" she said
"You will get a say in who you choose. But you must think of your country"
"I dont know how to speak any other language except Lentanian!"
"Its ok. You will cope. We still have the wedding to plan and you still have a while to stay in Lentania"
"Stop father I dont want to hear anymore. I'm going to bed"
