F-21 Anteater
Introduction: Our aim was to build a modern multirole fighter. Our design goals were to carry significant external stores at relatively long range in a modestly-stealthy supercruising airframe.

Airframe: We went with a trapezoidal wing, providing the best features of delta wings, forward-swept wings, and standard swept wings. At each wingtip is a hardpoint for our AAM-97 Viper; on the wing itself are eight external pylons. Below the nose is a weapons bay carrying a 25mm GAU-12/U cannon with 600 shells. We incorporated planform-aligned wing and tail edges, a sloped fuselage and canopy, canted vertical surfaces, and a serpentine inlet duct for the engines, along with a signature-assessment system (SAS) designed to inform pilots and maintenance workers when wear-and-tear has degraded the stealthiness of the F-21.

Engine: We went with two TE-T-219 turbofans, an improved version of the engine that which powers the F-22. These generate 15950 kgf (156.4kN; 35163.7lbf) thrust each, providing sufficient thrust to achieve similar performance to the F-22.

Electronics: We fitted the Vo Electronics VE/AAR-71 AESA radar, which is a solid-state design resistant to jamming and reception by radar warning receivers due to a high scanning rate. For jamming, we have fitted the AN/ALQ-135(V) active radar jammer and VE/DIC-6 directional IR countermeasure system (which sends energy in the direction of detected IR sensors). The AN/ALQ-99E integrated jamming pod can be fitted, and is standard on EF-21 EW support planes. Finally, our FA-21 fighter-bombers carry the AN/APQ-146 terrain-following radar.
