Now that the armies of the world have begun to organize themselves, the continent of Ristaur awaits its fate. The nations have gathered to see one world power fall, and now, they race to take it's place.

Turn 1:

All nations start with full manpower for five armies, please assign those to certain groups, such as a mixed group, or a axe group. Supremacy units lose their strength by 50% when in a mixed group, except for those involving animals(horses, ox, etc.)

All nations start with 500,000 Gold Pieces, which can be used as following

Settle a city: 400,000 GP
Raise an Army(See below for kinds): 200,000 GP
Invade a player nation: 50,000 GP
Invade NPC Nation: 25,000 GP
Put down resisting senate parties(Republic only) 10,000 GP
Upgrade regular army to Supremacy force: 5,000 GP if the army is same weapon as supremacy, 10,000 GP if not.

All nations start with 40,000 manpower which can be used as follows

Raise a Supremacy Army: 10,000
Raise a Regular Army(Assign after you buy): 5,000
Raise a Naval Battle Group(requires 3 to make a navy): 1,000
Raise a Mixed Army(Can be assigned to multiple groups): 10,000
Upgrade an army from Regular to Mixed: 1,000
Upgrade an army from Regular/Mixed to Supremacy: 5,000

These are base values, feel free to add to increase the strength of these armies.

Assigning an army means saying it's one of 6 groups, Axe, Sword, Bow, Cavalry(Animal), Chariot, and Mixed(multiple of the past 5). An army can be upgraded, so it might be a good idea to make lesser supremes, or have the same weapons, but not all the training. When creating a type of army for the first time, make sure to say what weapon it uses, such as Copper Blades or Iron Spears. If cavalry or chariot, say what animal drives it, such as an ox or horse. Feel free to go exotic like a cheetah.

Also, religion IS a factor. If you have a specific religion, fighting someone of the same religion will create a morale loss.

That's all, and don't forget to RP.

Basically, tell me what your starting armies are(I wouldn't do all supremacy, very expensive). If you want some extra material to work with there is the gold to buy things. Also, every turn(Day) is a measure of time, so we all don't get confused with people rping for an hour which to someone is a month and to another person is well, an hour. It's a vague measurement meaning, everything has to be done in this time, but it doesn't compare to other things. I've seen that uproot more then one RP.

Today, history was about to made. The last remains of the nomadic tribes of Rashinia, who had survived hundreds of centuries, were about to be slaughtered and torched by an army lead by the Crown Prince, Mioanlel, who had been brought up in his Father's Great Palace.

He, along with a few senior generals, were riding on white horses, while his soldiers marched through the desert heat as they prepared to butcher the last of the tribes. It would be a good day, and Father would be pleased that his son, who had only been given command of this army days earlier, was already slaughtering and killing.

They were walking down a desert path, towards a small village, just like the one in front of-

"-Charge!" shouted Mioanlel, as his army charged towards the small village, where the last of the tribes were on their knees. He had nearly passed this village. The desert heat must be getting to him.

The only way these villagers could be saved was if an outside force intervened. And there was no chance of that happening.

The soldiers returned home after training all day. They, the 1st Sword, protected their land fiercely. General Deoraz, or Prince Deoraz as some may like to call him, was a rough, down to earth leader, despite being royalty. His men new the tribe of Dazorl was going to strike soon, and fast. They did the final exercises, and bedded themselves in their rough cots.

On the horizon, if you strained, you could see two figures. General Barus and Minister Farasa. They discussed the battle plans, and how to quickly become the next superpower.

Okay. Sounds good. Also, those elephants will cost a small upkeep next turn, being cavalry. Infantry don't though. And don't forget to roleplay please.

IC:
Imperial Palace
Konor, Capital city of the Aglorean Empire

Emperor Ransis walked through the halls of his vast palace. It had been built over the course of many years of hard labor, and the many Aglorean workers had been rewarded for their loyalty to the empire. It was not an Aglorean effort alone, however, as many of the workers had been members of the many tribes that surrounded the Imperial borders. Their reward was not coming under attack whenever Ransis decided to next expand the empire, which he had done three times in his reign, each more successful than the last. He walked proudly into his personal worship chamber, covered with several religious artifacts that had been blessed by his priests. Ransis bowed down before a large bronze statue of the god Sims, the god of the sea, and prayed for a few moments before rising again and walking back to the main palace chamber.

He immediately moved to his throne, made of the richest minerals, and sat as his royal guards stood around him. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. It was at this moment of peace and tranquility that his personal aide stormed into the room with great excitement. Ransis open his eyes immediately and leaned forward to hear the man's words. "My Emperor," he began, trying to catch his breath from the sprint into the palace. "We have just gotten word from our sources at the market that the land to the south, Ristaur, I believe, has just become an open opportunity!"

Ransis knew of the land of which his aide spoke. "A vast kingdom resides there. What of them?"

"Gone, your majesty! I don't have the details as of yet, but if we act quickly we can secure the land for ourselves. We could easily double or triple our size!"

The Emperor thought for a moment. "Very well, my friend. We will raise our armies and move south. We will not, however, settle any lands that we do not know are secure."

"Of course, Emperor."

"Dismissed." Ransis remained sitting in his chair when the aide left in an excited walk. Excitable fellow, he found himself thinking yet again. He would make a poor general, or even worse, emperor. His thoughts then drifted to the more technical aspects of this decision.

In the entire Aglorean Empire there were nearly 20 million subjects, with more added every time they expanded. Of those, only about a million were of the highest class, having the most personal wealth and greatest priviliges. And, naturally, the most important person in the entire empire next to himself was his beautiful wife, Nata. She was a wonderful queen, and had given him two sons and a daughter, all of which he loved greatly. Back to the subject at hand! he suddenly told himself. He had let his mind wander.

Of the millions in his empire, only 40,000 were armed soldiers. The total wealth in the Imperial coffers was 500 thousand gold pieces, which would of course have to go towards the raising of new armies. Until they were raised, however, the five proud armies of the Aglorean Empire would have to do. Two of the armies were 'Supremacy Armies', and they were chariot forces. Another two armies were deemed 'Regular Armies', and consisted of simple sword-wielding warriors, each armed with an iron sword and bronze shield. His final army consisted of the mixed forces of archers and axmen. The bowmen had wooden bows, and the axes were made of solid bronze.

Ransis grabbed a piece of parchment, ink, and something to write with. He wrote down his order for new forces: At the cost of 200 thousand gold pieces each, one new naval battle group (which the Empire had not had for decades) and another regular army of swordsmen would be raised. Ransis sent the message to his aide the next building over, and returned to resting. This would leave 100 thousand gold pieces left in the coffers, plenty to invest for later. Ransis drifted to sleep.

[ooc: Okay, I'm confused here- everyone starts with 40,000 men-but that's only a single battlegroup, and it takes three to make a navy. My Nation's primary is Naval (Think: viking-like), structure is tribal/Clan, with a preferred weapon being the Axe. (useful for lots of different things, like felling trees, shaping wood for ship repairs, cutting ropes, and killing enemies.) When ashore they likely act as infantry.

So...by the structure you've given, would that be a "mixed" army, or..?]

Turn 2
-----------

All nations produce 20,000 Manpower

All nations produce 400,000 GP

101st's nation loses 100,000 GP in upkeep for elephant armies and it's navy, and has a total of 300,000 GP remaining.

The Aglorean Empire will pay 25,000 GP in upkeep for it's naval battlegroup. They will now have 375,000 GP remaining for this turn.

Nerka loses 25,000 for it's Supremacy Armies. They will now have 375,000 GP remaining for this turn.

Rashinia loses 75,000 GP for it's cavalry and naval battle group, they will now have 325,000 GP remaining for this turn.

"It's a good year." Eikor said, looking at the shore ahead, "A good year..." The longship slid through the mouth of the river smoothly. For Eikor's clan, this had been a wonderful year-the crops had been ample, the harvest bountiful, and hardly any trouble with the neighbours. "So, you think we'll get a good price?" Jonah asked.

Eikor looked at his friend. "I think we will, if you put your tongue of silver to it a'right." he said, "your woman will be, I think, pleased when you come back with so much silver-assuming you don't load us down in so much silver that the ship wallows!"

Jonah shrugged, "We will see." he said, "I still think you should try your hand at finding gemstones-your land is right for it."

"Pah!" Eikor scoffed, "I'm a man of the Ships-besides, your family lives there among us, maybe your sons can deal in rubbish like pretty rocks."

"Those pretty rocks bring a high price in the markets." Jonah reminded him, "and they don't take up so much space..."

"I know, I know...but if nothing else, my Friend, your own folk are better at finding such rocks, and better at making them pretty than mine." Eikor said, "You could bring them to the market for yourself, maybe make enough to have a ship of your own."

"and leave you out of it?" Jonah scoffed, "Eikor, that would be a poorer arrangement than we have-as it is now, I ride to the market on your ship, get you a good price, and take a fine cut-and I don't have to do nearly so much sweating!" He grinned.

Eikor grinned back, "Yah, and your lonely god doesn't need the headache of your kin alone on the seas..." the jibe was an old exchange.

The lookout called out, "SMOKE!! Smoke on the Horizon!!"

Both men stared.

"That's about where Turandal was, isn't it?" Jonah asked.

Eikor nodded. "Aye. It is...maybe not such a good year after all."

The jew walked up the deck, and peered into the distance. "I see glints-metal, armour?"

Eikor peered, forcing his eyes to focus on the approaching shore. "Loki's BALLS!!!" he swore, "That is a battle. Someone is invading."

"What makes you say that?" Jonah asked, "It might be a raid instead..."

The ship slid upriver on the wind a bit further. "No. Battle-standards." he said, "It would appear our friends are now in the middle of two armies. Drop sail, we want no part of this...dammit, it was looking to be such a good year!" He matched actions to words, "Man the Oars!"

The large sail was furled, as the sounds of the battle grew closer.

"why not trade with them?" Tujii, an apprentice, asked, dropping into his position and beginning to row.

"Armies don't pay fair." Hagi, an older, experienced, sailor replied, "They'll just take what we have, and maybe try to kill us, like those poor bastards up the river. Better to hold back and wait for things to settle down, or head back to the sea and find a town that isn't under seige."

==================================================================
The People of the Ships have (Standing forces) at the beginning of turn 2:
3 Naval battlegroup, 1 army of Axemen, 1 mixed army (lesser troops, bow and spear). Axes and spears are of iron and bronze respectively.

Total cost:23,000

Battlegroups are distributed between the three dominant Clans, Axe infantry are distributed among the battlegroups, mixed type troops are also distributed among the ships.

Tactical preference is small unit actions. The People are not currently at war with anyone.

Buying a sword infantry.

The man looked out at the mountain, clad in fog. He mumbled to himself. This was not going to be an easy defense. Only a week earlier, the people of Dazorl struck efficiently, disabling the countryside. Now, only this mountain stood between them and the capital of Nerka. Deoraz and his armed forces, now joined by the General Darus and his men of the 2nd Mixed and 46th sword. Prince Lerdis, Deoraz's brother, was holding his knights at the mountain and were disabling the enemies flanks. The infantry looked down at the men. Most sighed, the enemy was so unsuspecting, they almost pitied them. But then the wrought images of blood and burning cities filtered into their minds. The men jumped off their concealed cliff, and onto the rolling mountain, only two or three feet below.

"CHARGE!" came the order, and immediately, the men swept down, slaughtering all enemies in their path.

Battle of Yon-Terr Mountain:

Dazorl's Forces:

2,000 fully armed infantry
Casualties: 1,403

Deoraz's forces:

20,000 + The Knights of Lerdis(10)(Elites)
Casualties: 3,000, a Knight of Lerdis

Victory to Deoraz's forces.

Imperial Palace
Konor, Capital of the Aglorean Empire

Emperor Ransis sat on his throne, looking over a parchment that described the current amount of gold in the Aglorean coffers. His loyal accountant had determined there were 375 gold pieces remaining, but Ransis quickly threw the idea away. His accountant had clearly missed the 100 thousand gold pieces left over from the original military expansion. He made a mental note to have the accountant rightly punished, and went back to his work. He knew that this new land to the south, this Ristaur, had once been a part of a vast empire, and he new the route well. Many times since he had been named Emperor he had led military expeditions south through the desert to claim land. These expeditions were always successful, and always led to the assimilation of new cities and citizens to the Aglorean Empire.

They had never moved into the other empire's territory, however, as they were known to be very powerful. Without a doubt, they could have done large amounts of damage to this empire in a war, but ultimately would be overwhelmed by their power. Even with the gods on their side, Ransis knew the Aglorean Empire would have fallen. As fortune would have it the gods had chosen to open a path for the growth of the Empire by destroying another. Ransis was also aware of other nations that would no doubt attempt to take advantage of these events, and a large military force would be required to secure his new land. As he pondered these things, his top General walked into the chamber.

"Emperor Ransis, my good friend," General Si Mas bowed down before the throne and then rose to his feet. "You requested to see me?"

"Yes, Si," Ransis responded in a friendly tone. "Were you told of the developments to the south?" The general nodded. "Very well, Si. I am entrusting you with our naval battlegroup, one of our royal chariot groups, and two groups of swordsmen. You are to march the soldier south, alongside the Great River, and secure the city of Bekla."

"Ransis!" the general responded quickly with suprise. "Bekla sent many men here to build our palace. You swore to them that they would not be attacked! I cannot in good faith-."

"Si, that is enough! They have not shown themselves to be worthy of an immunity. We are on a path set forth by the gods, and they are an obstruction in the path. The gods and I have decided they are to be Aglorean. If you cannot do that simple task, my friend, then I can have you replaced!"

Si Mas thought for a moment. "Yes, sir. It will be done, and swiftly. I shall inform you when the city is ours."

"Good. May Sims see your ships safely." The general left after another bow, and quickly moved to the docks.

Imperial Docks
The Great River

Within one hour the ships had been prepared, and the army, led by the chariots, had begun to move out of Konor. Si Mas stood on the deck of the largest ship as they moved south up the river towards the city of Belka. The city was very close, a few hours away only, and the battle would be over quickly. Si Mas and the Aglorean army was prepared. All that remained was the trip. Once Belka was out of the way, the march south could begin.

As you see in my last post, I am introducing elite units. Everyone gets one to start with, and those can be named anything. At turn 5, you can get a new one, or choose to abstain(this can be created at any later turn if you abstain). From then on every ten turns you get a new one. Elite units cost upkeep, and you can replace any lost units for 1,000 men per elite. The starting value is 10, but the max can be raised to 20 for 10,000 GP(you will still need to pay the 1,000 per price to fill up the now open slots)
