[QUOTE=Rithian;14364583]This is a topic to encourage people to make ancient nations with fantasy. I was hoping to get together a rp for it as well, and here is the long awaited form! (Or not).
Full Nation Name:The People of the Longships
Short Nation Name:The People of the Ships, The People, the Tribes, the Northmen... (LOTS of names-also "Barbarians")
General Size(Don't go crazy please):Nomadic/seminomadic, North.
Government(Democracy is a no-no, but a republic is fine):Clan/Tribal, with a High Chieftain and a council of Clan leaders.
General Military Supremacy(Cavalry, Melee, Archery, Chariot): Axes, Naval, Raiding.
Capital City: Su'Do'Wo'za ("The Fortress in the Hill")
Religion(Free Religion is fine):Free
Stereotypes:
"When the Black-trimmed sails appear off your coast, the question is only, have they come to trade, or to burn? Only the Gods know the answer of the Northmen's Riddle."
When the People come to trade, they trade fairly-but they are often easily offended, and sometimes, they come to burn. When the People of the Ships do, they have been known to take captives-those captives are always released when they've finished their atrocities-they do not deal in slaves as more civilized peoples do, but they have been known to fight for payment in iron and bronze, and they love Silver. Their trade is mainly in fur, Gems, Amber, and Tin, though they have traded in strong drink and are quite fond of bright, shiny things.
For their own reasons, they are also fond of the people of Judea, and have been known to give Israelites free passage on their wide-ranging ships in exchange for the Semites' skill with languages and trade. The People's settlements in the far north are fortified against land-attack, but open to the sea. Their ships are swift and well-made, designed to be as at home coming up a river as they are crossing the violent and stormy seas at the edge of the world. Both their men, and their women will fight-and fight viciously.
Their elite warriors wear the white furred skin of the bear native to their homeland. It is rumoured that such "Bear Skin Wearers" are immune to pain in the throes of a blood-madness, that they are merciless and mad in battle.
The People do not make their settlements near other nations, instead they will tend to move north and west if given the chance, but they sail and travel anywhere, even into lands where more civilized nations will not go.

Charzak, aren't you the person who ruined my last one?
um....i don't know but i have become better since then.
I'm assuming this is also the OOC thread, if not, correct me. I have a question. In the main thread, there is alot of emphasis on gold to buy things or even do a simple thing like invade a tribe. Why is this?
As for using gold, It's a simple highly valued universal currency, local currencies will be available at turn 2. Also, invading a tribe would cost money to mount a strike, pay soldiers(this game doesn't have upkeep) and pay off any resistance that might come up in your nation. Also, that does not mean native tribes that reside near your borders, I mean NPC nations. I should probably change that, thanks for telling me.
Edit: And Charzak, your in, but I won't give you a main role like I did last time.
