For days Dreadfire had shut himself into his chambers, plotting and constructing plans in secret with only his most trusted council as company and with the Gothic Lords via a secure satellite connection. Many things were about to change, and indeed much had already changed in the months since the great campaign against Mediterranica was launched. The war thus far enjoyed unexpected success very early on with numerous nations within the region flocking to the banner of Gholgoth, a move that most Freekish commanders did not anticipate. It would only be a matter of time now before the meager resistance within Mediterranica was crushed and a Gothic presense cemented, and those from within who would help achieve this would be rewarded greatly for their services.
Damien retreated from his work after many tedious hours had passed and stole himself away to his private gardens where he had spent many a restless hour. The once lush vegetation that lined the stone paths were now crumpled and dry from the winter chill that had slipped down from the mountains, and the waters from the bubbling fountain at the center of the gardens were frozen. Sitting down on top of the snow dusted lip of the fountain, he looked upward towards the two statues before him; one of himself forged from stainless steel, and another of his long lost brother Bastien chiseled from pure bronze. His eyes were always drawn to Bastien's towering form, and he could never remove from his mind the ghastly image of his slain friend.
These are troubling times my brother, the waters are no longer still but bubble and churn with unrest. If only you remained here to share council with me...
After nearly an hour in the bitter cold Dreadfire returned to his chamber and lit a roaring fire to warm his chilled body. With a bear skin blanket draped over his shoulders he continued to shuffle through the various papers he had been examining earlier, papers that contained the blueprints for an expanded Gothic civilization across the globe. It was an ambitious effort the likes of which had not been attempted before in the modern age, and it could very well mean that a new age was about to be forged. Copies would soon be sent to each of the regional Lords for individual review, and if an agreement was reached then it would give birth to an expanded Gothic Empire....an Empire whos name was spoken long ago in ancient prophecy... Vorgoth.
It was a bold new idea that had not been attempted before by any within Gholgoth; expanding the alliance itself beyond the shores of the region to those abroad. There already looked to be several potential candidates for membership, mainly from Mediterranica where much conquesting and dealmaking had already taken place. It would be a good place to birth the new Empire and spread it worldwide, and those who flocked to its banner would reap the benefits of being apart of the powerful Gothic machine but still maintaining their individual cultural identities. The Vetalians, the Grestonians, Uirians, and others in Mediterranica who supported Gholgoth's invasion would all be the first to receive invites to join this new movement once a full resolution was adopted by the Lords.
It would not be long before a decision was reached. The idea was largely praised by the Lords as bold and perhaps long overdue, and though some details had yet to be worked out an annoucement was scheduled to be released late the next day. Dreadfire would pen the notice himself on behalf of the Gothic Lords who had signed off on the Vorgoth proposal, and soon word would spread around the globe about the rise of this new entity.
~From the desk of Lord Damien the Destroyer, Supreme Warlord of the New Gothic Empire of Automagfreek~
It is on this day that the noble Lords of Gholgoth announce to the world the dawning of a new era. For too long we have been content to sit in our own corner of the world and keep to our own affairs while the rest of the world descends into chaos. For too long we have discriminated against those not fortunate enough to be within the borders of our grand region, and it is now that we announce that the days of old are forever gone.
To understand what we speak of, one must understand how Gholgoth functions. We are both a region and an alliance, functioning as a brotherhood in which each head of state has equal say in the direction we all take. We are a collective that stands alongside and defends one another, for our fates are all entwined through our common ideals. We will hereby expand our alliance beyond our regional borders and include those across the world that seek a safer and more prosperous existance. Our collective, our brotherhood shall now shine as a beacon of hope, power, and unity in every corner of the world.
We in Gholgoth hereby formally announce the rise of the Vorgothic Empire.
Those who become a part of Vorgoth shall receive all the same economic and military benefits that countries in Gholgoth and Gholgoth Minor enjoy, and they shall also have a say in the direction we all take. There are few 'rules' and 'regulations' involved in the Gothic way of life, save for a few; Defend and support your brothers at all costs. Do not cross your brothers, and respect their individual decisions and cultures. Gholgoth is a diverse region in which nearly every government type is represented, and we believe that Vorgoth can function in the same kind of harmony.
Therefore we open our doors to any and all worthy enough to take up the banner of Vorgoth and make it their own. We shall not discriminate against a prospective member nation based on their culture, government, religion, etc, so we encourage all who seek a better tomorrow to become a part of this new movement.
