First I'm looking for RPer's who know how to construct a good story, who will make there characters much more than 2D incarnates. The RP itself is inspired by the show The Wire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_wire).

The background:

Resa City is the capital of Londim. Like much of Londim, it has experienced incredible economic growth and is seen as a booming financial and commercial centre. However with growth comes crime, with like many cities, in the poorer neighbourhoods.

However it's not a black and white world. Like much of the world, the criminal world is different shades of gray. I want to make clear that this isn't a place where groups like The Mafia or Triads operate. Instead this area is operated by what I call community gangs, people who have grown up in the areas and taken over, from pushing drugs on the street corner to running small rackets.

The police force will be divided into two main groups. You're either in homicide or narcotics. Maybe these two departments will get on well or maybe they'll be competitive against each other, that's up to how your character develops.

The crime side needs everything from the pushers on the street, to henchmen, to heads of groups to the guy who runs everything. Characters will be arrested and in some cases charged. If a character is charged a court case will occur, maybe in separate threads.

I will play Detective Nathan James, 30, Narcotics, who likes getting criminals on his terms and on occasion that may be breaking the rules.

Almost numberless drug pushers, henchmen etc. I will not be against those who choose one Head Criminal/ Deputy Head Criminal also playing the smaller time criminals.

The neighbourhood this takes place is called Resa Edge.

Name: Alexander Jackson.
Character Type: Deputy.
What kind: Homicide.
Age: 25.
Background: Alexander Jackson was born into a family of four, consisting of his father, James, his mother, Angelina, his older sister, Sarah and himself. He was raised in a middle-class suburb and, after gaining a scholarship, got through to one of the best schools in Resa City itself. Throughout his childhood, he was raised on good values and respect for your elders, which has molded the modern Alexander Jackson.

However, during his 19th year alive, he was attacked by a knife-welding criminal and nearly killed, if a local police officer hadn't stepped in and arrested the criminal. This encouraged him to get a job in the police, and he joined the homicide group of the Resa City police force.

He quickly advanced through the ranks of the police force, soon finding himself a deputy. He has investigated several homicides and has even assisted in putting one criminal behind bars.

Age: 23
Background: Chris Burrow grew up in a Resa City lower class slum. He grew up around drug dealers and drug addicts his father was a drug dealer. He was a great kid in school he excelled in academics and martial arts after school. One day after school he witness his best friend get killed after a drive by shooting. He graduate high School early at 16 were he deicde to attend a military academy. He became a Special Agent with the Army's Military police investigating murders. He left the army and came back to Resa City where he joined the police department to serve as a Homicide Detective.

Name: Ziyoshiyua Ashida
Character Type: Criminal
What kind: Deputy
Age: 26
Background: Growing up in the ghettos of Resa City, Ziyo quickly learned to fend for yourself. He is an excellent sharpshooter, and has had small time contracts with large gangs. He briefly worked for the police, but found he didn't have the commitment to the force, so he left. Joining a gang, he quickly rose through the ranks

Name: Emma Renaguarde
Character Type: Detective
What Kind: Narcotics
Age: 26
Background: Emma Renaguarde enjoyed a privileged upbringing with an Upper-Class family in Ark Ivira. She soon became tired of the monotony a high ranking lifestyle entailed, deciding to take on her own dreams of seeing the world and helping people rather than relying on the spotlight at social events her entire life.

Emma had to fight for her dreams though, her true ambition to work in a Police Force not being recieved well in her family. After running away to attend a Law Enforcement Academy (Getting top marks in the process), She eventually lost all contact with her family after being shunned by her mother and father.

Now, after emigrating from Ark Ivira to live in Londim, Emma is trying to put her past behind her and recently applied for a position in the Narcotics Unit of the Resa City Police Force.

Name: Kerin Osiq
Character Type: Low Ranking Outlaw
Age: 16
Background: After the Far Echo Islands was taken over by Akimonad six years ago, his parents emigrated. He lived abroad in a dozen countries for a few years, getting a grasp but not a fluency on several languages, however soon settled in Resa. By now, travel and other costs had his family, once one of the elite in the Far Echo Islands, at the other end of the spectrum, living in a rough neighborhood in south Resa.

The day before his 15th birthday, reop men broke in and took all of practically his family's possessions. His father had planned to commit sucide, but his family convinced him against it. His father works constantly, and his mother works alonside him whilest trying to raise her children.

On any normal circumstance, he would have grown up the to be similar to his father. One day he was sitting on the sidewalk and someone approached him with an offer. If he killed a man, he could be paid 1,000 NSD and get to keep the gun. He knew his family needed the money but he knew they would tell him that they could get by just fine without it, he needed to work hard in school and try to get a scholarship so he could move up in the world.

He preformed the task, and was indeed paid. He claimed he had found a wallet with no ID. It all seemed pretty legitimate to his parents as he had brought a wallet to augment his story the money helped them live much better and gave a lot of hope. He soon fell into a mix of low level criminal activity, and his parents have the stereotype that Londim people don't keep their wallets very secure. He still tries very hard in school, and does somewhat well, but he fights between the ease of his criminal life, and the pull of his parents wishes for his success, and his desire to see his family happy.

Name: Gary Anderson
Character Type: Criminal
What kind: Courier, pickpocket, thief.
Age: 15
Background: Anderson grew up in the shady downtown of Chadswick, Tiurabo, running with the Valkyrie Sons, the most powerful gang in the Domain. After a while, he was sent to the Resa City Chapter of the Sons, one of the groups that needed an extra set of light fingers. He's got a quick mind and quicker feet, which he proved the night one of the larger community gangs moved in on the Chapterhouse. The other Sons were run out of Londim, but Anderson managed to stick on until he could merge in to one of the local gangs. He's still trying, but he does odd jobs for a few of the shadier citizens of Resa, mostly getting by on pickpocketing and minor burglary.

Name: Robert Ochiv
Character Type: Criminal
What kind: More of a techie for the big guys.
Age: 13
Background: Robert was abandoned at birth, and was adopted by a street gang in one of the most desolute areas in Resa City. After an extremely interesting career in the gang, largely as a beggar, he found out his fascination for computers and technology. The gang quickly used this to its advantage, making several big burglaries with his (unintended) help. Barely escaping, he is looking to join another gang with the secret intent of being an informer for the police, after being disgusted with the politics in his original street gang.
