4000 years since Babel Space Elevator disaster; try again?

2009 marks the 4000th anniversary of the Babel Space Elevator disaster. Since that time mankind has been restricted to rockets in its limited attempt at space exploration.
We believe that improvements in engineering and materials science render another attempt both feasible and desirable, not only for space travel, but for harnessing stratospheric winds, collecting charged particles etc.
As in the previous attempt, the project requires an international effort, so Esperantujo 2 invites all interested nations and NGOs to join in a consortium.

Aleksandra Kuiristo, President of the Praesidium, Sovereign Parliament of Esperantujo 2
Vladimiro Kuiristo, Ambassador to the World Assembly from Esperantujo 2
Frederiko Ingheniero, Professor of Engineering, University of Zamenhofurbo

Addendum:
We believe that the traditional interpretation of the disaster is incorrect. It is true that King Gilgamesh wished Sumerian to be used for all purposes, and all the contractors insisted on using their own native languages, but the real problem was the lack of a planned neutral language.

OOC: Ahaha, well done. Took me a moment to get it but really quite funny! I just hope the different languages in the consortium don't result in any engineering faults...
