Several months ago, Kiravian explorers and chocolatiers came upon a large Island in the Equatorial Seas. At 760,000㎢, it is comparable in size to Zambia. The island enjoys, or suffers from, a wet Tropical climate, and is choked with dense Rainforests.

While the land is rich with timber, and possibly minerals, its cheif rescources are its indigenous inhabitants: Oompa-Loompas (or Ûmpa-Lûmpas), for which we have named the area "Loompaland" ("Lûmpalin"). They are a race of sentient primates that live in tree-villages suspended in the forest canopy. In regards to appearance, Oompa-Loompas reach about 4.5 feet tall at the absolute highest, have orange skin, and strikingly green hair. Although largely sedentary, they maintain a hunter-gatherer economy by foraging the surrounding jungle. They are intelligent enough to understand simple human speech, and to use tools and carry out basic tasks. Needless to say, they make excellent labourers, and will work even for wages paid in small amounts of cacao beans.

The Kiravian Empire has already claimed and secured a large portion of East Lûmpalin as our Lûmpalin Protectorate. We invite other nations to do the same, and take the responsibility of helping civilise this hidden race.

OOC: So, yes. Basically, you can claim an area of jungle full of ridiculously cheap labour. Or, you can be humanitarians (Oompa-Loompanitarians?) that raid shipment and free Oompa-Loompas from lives of servitude abroad. Or you can be legitimately concerned for the Oompa-Loompas, yet still hungry for land, and colonise your claim while integrating and educating the natives. It's all up to you.

As for claiming: Please do not claim a titanic area, or a purely coastal area. I'd like several people to be able to enjoy the fun of this, so please give other people space to claim, and coastline enough so that the whole island can be colonised.

Once approved, you are resonsible for adding yourself to the map. I'll have to go eat soon, and won't be able to do it for you.

We so wish to claim a chunk (http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj31/chazsapphire/NewLoompa.png) of the southwest part of the island(s) as sovereign Chazakain soil, we will also be sponsoring explorations into the interior from this spot to hopefully claim more land. As such we are sending a small task force to begin setting up our claims and setting up settlements and reeducation of all that inhabit the area. Dr. Hospitality will lead the first exploration group(of 20 individuals) as they chart the interior and shores of Lûmpalin, while setting up trade and other relations with all that inhabit it. Vice-Admiral Trego will lead the settlement force.

Well, I did alter my claim, however, I now see that it interferes with Ralkovia's claim, however, so now we have more issues.

I am currently forming a "rough" map of the colonies

His Majesty Rashid I, leader of the free people of Daar Beranni, would like to extend his congratulations to the brave explorers who have helped to bring this unkown land and her noble inhabitants into the fold of nations. While Daar Beranni is but a small nation with more than sufficient room for her relatively tiny population, the Ministries of Science and Agriculture of Daar Beranni would like to request unrestricted access not to a land-based colony, but to the fertile fishing grounds to the east of this new island.

The Ministry of Agriculture believes than exemplary schools of speckled stink sardines can be found in these waters, and if rumors of an enormous, albino tuna called Mawmawmaw by the locals are true, Berrani sports fisherman and hunters by the dozens can be counted upon to descend upon the area.

Heirosoloa, I am creating a map. Can you please be more clear about which northeast island you are claiming?

The first is the island waaaaay to the west, the second is the island that Kirav didn't claim, which I believe is the one to the left of the one with the 'u' around it. But I'm not sure. That little 'u' was rather confusing.

Those islands have been already claimed by Heirosola. We will, however, reserve your freedom to claim whatever land remains once the Denecap government publishes their map of the island.
