IC:
In Port Nairn, a certain excitement was in the air for New Years Eve. Although wars were still raging across the world, Sans Semmes itself having only been attacked a few days before, the New Year period was a time in which all Semmians generally forgot about their worries and, well, partied.
This year, though, they knew it was going to be extremely special. The President, Sylvester Aninston, had announced that he was to hold a diplomatic function on the night of the 31st, and had invited representatives from all the countries of the world to join him. They didn't know what to expect. Aninston had always been a "people person", and more or less down to earth - he went out unprotected most of the time, except for the few instances in which he stumbled back to the Government Lodge in the early hours of the morning from the Sans Semmes Observatory - being very fond of stars and galaxies. He did his own shopping, cleaned his own house, drove his own children to school, gave public speeches dressed in an unironed shirt and tweed trousers - and there were even rumours that he was to cook on the night of the function. All this gave him a very fatherly image - and, thus, made him popular in the polls, having remained in power for now his fourteenth year.
There was no doubt, though, that other leaders and ambassadors would not be like him - those that had lived in other countries spoke of Presidents in Black Suits surrounded by bulky, sunglassed men, and others told tales of not even being able to see their leader without being given a blow to the face by a man with an Italian-accent.
On the day before - the eve, you might say, of New Years Eve, small banners were put up in shops saying things like, "Welcome Leaders", "Please don't nuke us," or even, "We don't accept American Express", as the representatives of the world began to arrive.
"Interesting... a party on New Year's Eve? I did not expect them to host such an extravaganza on such an important night, but Semmes appears to be way different than here..." muttered Robert Ochiv, guest to the function. "I assume I will be there to make a splash?"
"I don't know, Rob..." said the big man, the Prime Minister of Kenavt. Ashton Butler. And Robert's best friend. The deals they had negotiated, the wars they had seen... I still cannot believe that we met back in high school, Ashton thought. Such a friend. Life is so great. The problem was that Robert had a flair for the oftentimes too dramatic. Like that incident back where they met.... Ashton leaned back in his favorite plush office chair. "Just case the joint, you know? We'll see."
"As you wish, sir." Robert made a sarcastic bow toward Ashton. What a character, Ashton thought.
"However... no one is using my DBS tonight." Ashton unlocked his top left drawer and took out some ordinary car keys. He tossed them over.
"Really, sir!" Robert joyously gasped.
"Of course. You're more of a car connoisseur then me. Maybe I'll get you one for your birthday. I owe you a salary raise, after all."
"I must be going." Robert declared.
"Take your time. The gala is not quite yet, and the streets are largely empty..." Butler let that trail into silence as the door swung shut. "Just don't scratch it up!" he yelled.
Hours later
Port Nairn. What a delightful name, Robert meditated. The roads are in great shape as well, although the traffic could let up. He revved his beautiful Aston Martin DBS, somewhat accidentally scaring a couple of pedestrians.
Pulling up to Government Hall, he glanced at his new Rolex. Power has its advantages. 5:55pm, local time. Robert immediately closed the door and tossed the keys to a nearby valet. Good, I'm early. But I could be snazzier dressed. Oh well, the President is a relaxed man, isn't he? Fascinated with the stars. He walked up the stairs of the Hall, wearing a somewhat rumpled tuxedo and "church" pants, as they called them back home. It appears I am the first one here. Standing at the top of the stairs taking in the breathtaking view of the port, and waited for others to arrive.

As the sun set once more, the lights of the City lit up, and ferries began cruising the harbour again, taking their passengers home.
The President, dressed more neatly than usual (though still unable to resist wearing his favourite tie; one in which a snowman sat smiling) was mixing something up in the kitchen (what appeared to be a marinade for something; though it was really impossible to tell) - however, once he heard the sound of a rather expensive car pulling up near the front entrance, he stopped whisking, and ran - as quickly as a rather frail, bald old man can - to greet his guest, still carrying a spoon and a bowl filled with the dark substance.
"Alena, Hans! We've got a guest coming."
"Darn it, Sylvester, you're still holding a bowl!"
"Oh, so what? There's no harm in letting them have a little pre-taste."
"Sylvester..."
"Come on, now."
He slowly pushed open the large, wooden doors, and found the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kenavt there, standing, gazing at the harbour.
"Hans, do you think we should disturb him? He seems to be in deep thought of some kind."
"Alena and I will go back in, then, I guess."
"Good evening, Sir."

Interesting... I think the GWO deserves it, but I don't exactly agree with communism, though. More of a moderate.

Foreign Affairs Minister!
"Good evening, Sir."
"Oh!" Robert turned around, with a little tail of his tuxedo flying out and then returning. "Hello! Sorry, I was just looking at your fabulous bay, and your wonderful city. Interesting. And, nice tie. So... shall we go inside?"

LOCATION: Parking lot of government hall, Port Nairn
"Are you sure this is right place?"
"Yes dear"
"It a very nice city"
"It is dear"
The two, The elected head of government and his wife had been going on like this for almost half an hour and Einar De Vries had reverted to the generic "yes dear" answer that every husband does uses. Harold Tyson grinned and spoke in his usual slow American accent
"Comrades, we won't get anywhere talking in the car park we should go to building and see"
The three made their way up the steps of building and waited, Anja talking at two hunded miles an hour while her husband just nodded only half listen.

"Hmm, I expect that manic chatter outside is another party arriving."
"Sylvester, you're still holding that bowl of marinade! Will you at least put it in the kitchen?"
"Not now Hans, we have guests arriving!"
"Here, give it to me."
Hans Gormaan hurried off to the kitchen to drop off the large steel bowl, half filled with something that appeared to be soy sauce and herbs.
"Ah, Mister De Vries! And this must be your wife, and you must be Mister Tyson! Please come in and help yourselves to some drinks. Oh, and Madam, this is the right place, just so you know."

After arriving in Sans Semmes, King Marek VI had found his way to the site of the New Years Eve function that the President had invited him to attend. He had originally only intended to bring his wife to the function; she was decked out in the finest dress and jewelry for the function but the heir to his throne, Princess Seka, would be attending as well. She had begged her father to let her attend and used his desire to educate her about the world as a justification. The King finally agreed and took Seka along with him and his wife while his other children were at a relative's mansion.
They got out of the ship they had used to get to Port Nairn and began to look around with cries of wonder coming from the Princess and smaller ones from the Queen. A wonderful place, they had called Port Nairn, to have for a New Years function. The King got hold of transportation to the site of the function, the Presidential Palace, and explained to his daughter that she should behave and be a proud and responsible representative of Tagoria. "We want to make sure that we don't ruin the gala; we need to be respectful and courteous. For the sake of Tagoria, of course."
Seka did not defy her father whenever she was asked to do something for the sake of the homeland. There were times when she would defy him but she shared his view on leading Tagoria, that is, that you must always be serious and ruthless in protecting the land that you govern. When the limosuine finally arrived at the intended destination, the King helped his wife out of the car and walked with her and their oldest child to the front doors of the palace. Hopefully, all would go well.

(Before the King's Arrival)
To the President's surprise, things had gone rather smoothly. After welcoming his latest arrival, he had ducked quietly out to the small wooden jetty outside the Hall to check on his fishing lines, which were being guarded by Alena Evans, the Mayor, who, herself, was an avid fisherwoman.
"Sylvester! Shouldn't you be attending to your guests?"
"I am, Alena. Just came out to check how the fish are today."
"Here, have a look at this one."
In a bucket lay a large, white trout, still flapping about. Its scales shimmered in the moonlight.
"Just came out of the water. What do you think?"
"Pretty thing."
"Yeah, sure is. How's the marinade coming along? We'll have to tell the chefs to get cooking soon."
"Yes, we will. I'll tell Hans now."
"Alright then."
The President heard a knocking at the front door. He adjusted his tie, brushed a drip of sweat off of his forehead, and went to greet his guests.
"Why, good evening, Your Majesty! You and your wife look spectacular! And the young princess, too! Welcome to our city, we hope you enjoy your stay. Please, help yourself to some wine. [How old is the Princess?]"
OOC: Edited, sorry. =/

"Of course. Thank you." Robert nodded to him as Sylvester went on to do other things. He immediately turned around when he heard some manic chatter, and then it appeared that some majestic figures arrived. Making his way towards them, he stopped and bowed. "Hello, your Majesties. I heard that some royal figures would be attending this gathering. would like to introduce myself. I am Robert Ochiv, a mere commoner from the Cofederacy of Kenavt."

The table preparations for the heads of states and thier official guests are fit for Kings and Queens. The local native Italian based Sans Semmes food is delicious along with the superb world famous wines of Chianti.
Foreign Affairs Minister Elian Gonzalez fascinated the dinner party guests with his own personal Balsero saga experiance.
How as a young boy his mother took him on a raft across 90 miles of shark infested waters to the shores of Miami Jai-Alai to live in freedom and prosperity.
Yet knowing she could not go on any longer as she was tired and dying from the heat of the sun, the waves, the rowing. Tied up little Elian to the raft in hopes that her son would at least make it to Miami's Shores without her.
As the raft drifted across the ocean, guided and protected by a school of friendly Dolphins to the shores of Miami Jai-Alai.
If mom could see me now, all I have become, all I have accomplished in freedom in Miami Jai-Alai she would be so proud.
Vice President Ileana, Elian, Mayor of Port Nairin Elena Evans compared thier similar names.
Ambassadors Carmen Santiago, Ana Velia Martinez and her husband Luis Antonio Martinez - The First Dude, chatted with the appointed Ambassador to Miami Jai-Alai.
Ana Velia and Luis Antonio started to settle into thier diplomatic Villa in Chianti. Visited the school thier son Alberto 17 and daughter Margarita 16 will be attending.
Alberto and Margarita made friends with the sons and daughters of Sans Semmes government officials even though they cant speak a word of the local dialect nor Italian.
Minister of Statistics Ricardo Rodriguez wishes to take geographical, economic, political and social CDs of Sans Semmes history and culture back to Miami Jai-Alai to add to his Library Records Department.
President Lincoln Diaz-Balart makes a personal request to President Sylvester Aninston that Ana Velia's husband Luis Antonio be accredited as Co Ambassador to Sans Semmes.
While we seem to have many political, economic and social differences with the Libertarian socialist government of Sans Semmes we admire thier socialist government's support for multi political party elections, personal economic, political and social freedoms.

OOC: The princess is fourteen. I plan to RP her life gradually and thought fourteen was an alright age to start her saga from. Anyone is free to talk to the Princess if they wish.
King Marek was overjoyed to see the President of Sans Semmes in front of him and with a great smile upon the monarch's face, he firmly grabbed and shook Sylvester's hand before giving his response. "It's a pleasure to be here in Sans Semmes, President, and it seems you've made this ballroom perfect for our little leaders' gathering. Aye, my wife always looks spectacular and my little girl here too; I'm thankful for having both. Now, let's check out that wine, shall we? Keep in mind, President, if you wish to talk about diplomacy, I'm more than open."
The Queen and Princess both thanked the President for the compliment. "I'm glad that we were able to bring the Princess here without any problems. She was quite eager to attend, President." The King noted while taking a glass of wine in his hand.
The King walked with the Queen to the wine table while Princess Seka looked around for the non-alcoholic drinks. She wasn't old enough to go all out but she was determined to have fun no matter what she drank.

Everything has gone quite well. Tagoria has certainly found several nations who are quite eager to be our friends. I hope I can count Sans Semmes as one of them."
