In the Osean capital, within the Chancellory Building, Chancellor Joseph Grey was finishing off some pieces of paperwork. It was a cold night and he was looking forward to getting home. Suddenly one of his aides rushed in, looking flustered and brandishing a piece of paper and said "Sir, we have been sent a message...". He fell silent once he noticed the withering look that Joseph was giving him. People did not usually rush into the chancellor's office. Joseph then calmly replied "Well, show me the message. It be better be important". The aide then gave him the message. He then read it carefully and then read it again just in case he had read it incorrectly. He thought "Well, this is indeed interesting, and also unexpected. I must act quickly to set up the nessasary preparations".

OBC NEWS

Late yesterday, the Republics of Pirecco and Estovakia issued a Joint statement announcing that they both wish to enter negotiations for the purpose of re-uniting with Osea. Both states seperated from Osea about two decades ago, due to internal problems. Chancellor Joseph Grey has announced that he has accepted their proposal and all sides have agreed to hold the negotiations in in a weeks time and that they will be held in the Osean Capital, New Constantinople. Political analyists believe that it is likely that both states will likely still possess some autonomy in the event that negotiations succeed.

OOC: First, both nations are puppets I created some while ago and I decided that it would be beneficial for me if I did this. As for why I am RPing this instead of just anouncing that it happened, I decided it would be more fun overall if it was done this way. Also, the puppets are large enough to considerably affect the size of my nation and it would be helpfull if I know if other players will accept it and if they would have their nations recognize it. The reason why this thread is semi-open is because I want to make sure that this thread is not spoiled by anyone doing anything stupid or excessive like random declarations of war, successful assasinations, etc. If there is something you wish to do, but are unsure if it will be acceptable, tell me and I will see what I can do.

[OOC: I would advise to shy away from merging countries together, for most RPers tend to frown upon this. I personally don't care and congratulate you, but I will warn you that many may not recognise this.]

[ooc: Nothing wrong with having an "empire". So long as others you regularly RP with accept it. Additionally, it is expected that the empire's owner has enough common sense to not go nutty with powah.

I RP a single nation, but as an empire, with territories scattered through my region. Additionally, there are various deep space territories under my nation's control, more to add color to the already colorful cultural soup I've made.]

"A unification effort? Nothing new about that." Aeris muttered as she slid her finger across the holographic screen displaying international news. She paused a moment, then pulled the article back into view. "Hmph."

Being an empress of a nation of nearly 11 billion people in its core territory alone, Aeris was no stranger to what it meant to have greater responsibility to answer to. During her time in office, she had seen the addition of a number of territories, terrestrial and extraterrestrial coming under the Tarlachian fold. All had maintained their independent localized governments, but answered to their central government.

"A gift then." she announced aloud, before opening the door to her office. Just then, she saw one of her children run past, giggling as she chased a butterfly that had sneaked into the palace. Chasing the child was one of the guards assigned to ensure the child's safety. His face showed his irritation clearly. Aeris smiled.

A moment later, an attendant approached and gave a brief bow, awaiting instruction.

"Tera, send a congratulatory batch of flowers to Osea." Aeris handed her a piece of paper with an address written on it.

"Osea?" the attendant questioned with a befuddled look on her face.

"Yes, Osea. Be sure you add in several packages of Advil. They're going to need it."

OOC: Don't worry about that. The main reason I have decided to do this now is that I am presently the head of an alliance. Due to my small size and lack of experiance compared to a lot of nations in NS, my alliance would seem less useful to anyone who might consider joining it. My small size generally means that if an older nation acts against my allies or myself, I really can't really do anything. Also I see you mention that you have various deep space territories. My nation is modern tech and I did put MT in the thread title.

[ooc: You can consider that batch of flowers and advil a chance to initiate friendly talks at some point in the future. If you choose such, TG me on the NS game site. I can promise several others of my nation's size and experience will attend, should you choose it to be a multi-nation summit...

Wouldn't hurt to have friends...

EDIT: Yes, I'm future tech, but that doesn't mean we cannot interact reasonably.]

The Kiravian Empire, itself a supranational communion of many constituent states, applauds Osea's peaceful expansion of its territory and power, and commends the two new provinces of Osea for making the decision to unite with a culturally similar state.
