RE: The Attack
Admiral Fenris,
We are launching our ships now. We will rendezvous 5 AUs outside of the system in Realspace (coordinates are being sent with this transmission); after that, we will slide into Slipspace and move in, while you can warp directly into battle.
In hopes of meeting you soon, even if only by voice,
Admiral Harold J. Rakno
______________________________________________________________
The sky over Tigeria ignited in flames.
Citizens watched in awe as dozens of warships ignited their ion thrusters simultaneously, pulling away from the planetary orbit as one coherent unit. The Apocalypse, the largest shape in the sky, shined with unmistakable majesty and power. And aboard it...
The time has come, Rakno thought to himself coolly, the massive bridge covered with control stations and monitors, perhaps hundreds of crewmembers watching their respective stations. The one he focused on, though, was the person in the Lead Navigator spot -- his trusted 2IC, Captain Julius Gaius. Gaius had been the Nav Officer on board the Black Death as well.
"How long will our first jump take, Gaius?" Rakno asked him pointlessly. He already knew that the interval would be--
"10 standard hours, sir," the officer replied in an ever-suffering tone. A grin from the man indicated otherwise. "After that... 5 AUs will take us all of ten seconds."
"Very well. Make it so." The somewhat-elderly flag officer watched his fleet display for a time, recounting his numbers. Not quite as powerful as it could be -- a small number of ships (in comparison) were still in the Battle Fleets, which were pulling back to Tigeria even as he led the invasion fleet. But surprise was possessed, and by the Great Lord, surprise had to be enough. HAD to be.
"Sir?" Gaius said after a few minutes of silence but for crewmembers speaking quietly, coordinating the massive ship's movements with the fleet's. "We are one AU from Tigeria, and ready to punch the hole."
"Do so," Rakno responded. Nodding, Gaius broadcast a message to the entire fleet for the jump into Slipspace. The smaller ships would go first, and the Apocalypse would go last -- no one knew how it would affect ships around it when it bored through dimensional barriers. Holes in space appeared all around the viewports, opening into white blankness into which the other ships disappeared. Finally, only one ship was left.
"Let's go," Rakno said. A Death-Class was silent compared to this. As the Hantog drives ignited, an unholy wail and roar -- both, combined into one ghastly noise -- tore through the ship, vibrating the very floor upon which Rakno stood. A small white hole appeared directly forward of the ship, widening with every moment. Suddenly, with a snarl like a thousand volcanoes erupting, the hole burst open completely, and the ship actually shivered with an earthquake, knocking some -- including Gaius -- to the ground.
"Damage report?" Rakno asked quietly. If anything had happened...
"None, sir," a young bridge officer responded after getting reports from all stations. "Just a little shaking, that's all."
"Just as well," the Admiral responded. "Let's get moving."

Bridge, TUF Battlemarch
The elderly looking man with the hanging and swing bionic arms slowly made his way up to the raised Command Area. Three other floors made up the bridge, buzzing with activity in the open area, with the ceiling screens showing space, as if it were really a Plasta-Glass viewport. But that would comprimise the defense of the ship. No, the bridge was built to stand up to mighty barrages, as this was the location the enemy would pitifully try to destroy rather then try and fight along its heavily armed sections. A gauntlet of Cannons, repeaters, and more weaponry protected the rising black.
And all of the ships were black...black as space, and adorned with red, like the blood of the enemy.
"Ship Master. The defenses are complete. While I wish we could loud some more crew onto the Battlestation guarding the chokepoint, making that many shuttle trips would take to long. Otherwise, the Battlegroups are now joined above the planet as requested, and can be split apart from the main Fleet on your order. And we have aquired a response from The United Federation. They send word with force backing it up. But it might take a while, as it seems their shift a large force."
Harkaan gazed back at the Lord Devicer. The man he had known for close to Twenty Five years. And likely the only one he really trusted. Besides a few other noteworthy officers he had surrounded himself with over the years. He didn't like being short on competent officers. "Yes I read the reports. I'm sure you have a point Lord Hordle."
The Elderly man flashed a smile, but it was gone in the same. "Yes, yes, I see your not one to waste time. I was concerned, you see, as we do not know when the enemy we were expecting to arrive, WILL arrive, and what with. Only that at somepoint, likely in the next few weeks, or even hours for all we know, they plan on launching, likely a joint assault on this planet. And worse yet, I'm not sure if that Federation Admiral can shift that many ships to here before the enemy is already knocking on our door. I must confess, it really puts us in a spot old friend."
Harkaan nodded. "Fear not Lord Devicer. We have pickets on the outter system waiting to jump back from the waystations to high orbit. They'll alert us. At least, they should alert us. If not, the enemy still has to push its way through the Defense Wall, and by then, we should be prepared to push them back, after they've been pecked away at by the Wall. And if worse comes to worse, we might even be able to pin them against our allies if they show up late, and then crush them with superier weaponry, shields, and men and women. I have at my disposal, some of the finest crew deployed in the outter sector, seasoned by far more larger battles then this is likely to be. And we have time on our side. The longer they take to attack us, the longer we have to ship surplus material back to Rhine, and the longer we have to get those fuel depots up and running, for our allies to trade for."
The Devicer soon lost interest in the Ship Master's preaching of their superier defenses and forces, and how they would sweep up the prize, and sweep away the enemy. "Perhaps, Ship Master. Or perhaps your waiting to allow a trap to be sprung on you, when you should have known it was comming." He said quietly, walking away. "We can only pray to the Steel that you are right."

If you have gotten a hold of this Admiral, then you should be on your way or just about finished mustering your forces. If so, good news! You should arrive just in time for the party planned by the Ship Master, a gift from the Ship Master from him to your loyal crewmen. Said party will take place planet side after we finish smashing apart that enemy fleet that's sure to come and crash the party. If you running abit late, expect the party to have slown down a bit, and perhaps a few more crashers then expected left abound to fight off.
If you are an enemy spy, and you have killed the courier bearing this holopad, then congrats again! The override code, sent previously to the Admiral alone by secure transmission, will deactivate the Plasma Charge that will destroy anything within a forty Kilometre range of where you are. If your the Admiral, feel free to utter the code right now. If your the enemy, then feel free to die. 10...9...8.......

"Admiral Fenris." The officer saluted, unescorted in the large office, his cap tucked nearly under his arm.
Admiral Fenris looked up. "Yes, Commander, what can I do for you?" Of course, he already knew what the officer was here for, but it paid to be polite.
"We've just received word that the Imglot navy is underway. We're to rendezvous with them at about 5 AU's outside the Pact Rhine system."
The Admiral nodded. "Then, Commander, the time has come. Is the fleet ready?"
"The ships are assembled and are awaiting your orders, sir."
Fenris stood up, and put on his own officer's hat. "Very good. We depart immediately."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once again, Admiral Fenris stood upon the bridge of his command ship, an Apocalypse Class battleship, christened the Justice. All around them, the ships of the Imperial Navy moved around them, their engines propelling them ahead. Looking up, the citizens of Quintus II would have seen a sight unlike something they had never seen. Above them, the Emperor's finest warships were going to battle.
"All ships, ahead full." Admiral Fenris ordered "Communications, signal the Imglots. Tell them we shall be arriving shortly. Navigation, set course for the rendezvous point." He snapped out the orders as they came in a brisk fashion.
"Engage Warp."

Gaius thumbed the power button on his holo-pad, he was an older Admiral, a Pao-tan. The frog-like creature had the stance of one who had learned much in his life, and was not afraid to use that knowledge to get what he wanted. His vessel, the UFV Galactus, was a massive vessel, it too had seen much combat. The Galactica Cruiser and it's crew were among the finest in the fleet.
A ensign sitting at a control station said, "Sir, engines are primed, we are ready to give the signal on your mark."
"Excellent work ensign, takes us out in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, go!"
The Ensign threw a series of levers and pressed buttons, and then as the Admiral had said go, the ships engines rumbled to light and entered hyperspace. The Admiral did not bring all of his fleet with him initally, but rather he left a portion of the fleet with the Oblivion Battlemoon, a large moon which had been converted into a battlestation.
The Admiral began typing a message to the United Fleets Ambassador, William Gaweir.

Satisfyed with the message the Admiral sent it, and looked outside the Aft window on the bridge, the odd shapes of the spacial anomily that is hyperspace, floated just outside. In a few hours he would be fighting one of the toughest fights the Federation has ever known.

The holographic galactic star chart revolved slowly in front of Rakno as he watched the Imglotian Fleet -- even zoomed in, a mere speck -- travel across the stellar space, approaching a bitterly red dot. The official code for it was NTG1; written out, it was called New Tigeria (1). How confident, the Ministry of Defense was, to have already established its new ownership. Next to it was a highlighted area of space, the rendezvous point with Angenterian forces. They were an hour out.
A warning light went off, and Rakno's blood went cold; the pattern of flashes indicated an unknown object in Slipspace, bad news for Imglot travelers -- whether said object was natural or artificial, collisions in Slipspace... well, it could suffice to say that the otherdimesional physics made some wacky things happen. Watching the sensor scan resolve, he was glad to see it turn into a rough image of a Nemesis-Class Stealth Scout (http://www.eve-wiki.net/images/2/22/Nemesis.jpg), which even the grainy silhouette he saw was the result of active broadcasting on their part. No one saw a Nemesis that the Nemesis didn't want to see.
"Helix," Rakno said gladly, "Glad to see us?"
"We've been in hiding for nearly a standard month, Admiral," a tired voice responded. "Activity is high, but no more than can be expected from a recently-claimed and contested planet. You chose your rendezvous point well, even if by chance; it just misses their primary pickets. As for enemy ORBAT... the Pact Rhine forces have some sort of large battlestation, along with the typical batteries of static weapons platforms."
"When you say static..." Rakno began thoughtfully, but the Admiral practically heard the little ship's captain shaking his head.
"No, sir. Full permeation throughout the system. Trust us, we were probing everywhere, nearly got caught. You're better off forcing your way through, blasting them out of your way. They're comparatively flimsy, I'll give you that much."
"Any land forces?" Rakno asked curiously. Part of the campaign may be fought on terrestrial battlefields, if the orbital assault succeeded.
"Unknown*. We have seen that Leviathan, though, just plodding around the system placidly."
Rakno cursed to himself. Of course it was still there, but it would have been great fortune if TUF had decided it was needed elsewhere. Well, so be it. "What would be your plan of attack, if you were in my seat?" Nemesis spooks were known to be the brightest minds in the military.
This one didn't disappoint. "Sir, while they outnumber you -- including your allies' numbers -- 10 to 1 in terms of weapons, their systems are, again, not dynamic. I would highly recommend taking them out with barrages of Despair-Type missiles."
"A fair point. Please continue."
"Sir. They want you to focus your attentions on that battlestation. This much is clear -- there are lanes of weapons literally built to guide you towards that station, obviously expecting you to charge it while destroying weapons platforms as you go. You must not succumb to the temptation."
The Admiral wrinkled his brow thoughtfully. What an odd bit of advice. "Justification?"
"Admiral, call it a gut instinct. There've been signals, that we dared not intercept for fear of detection, streaming out of and into system. In multiple directions. I don't like the tactical situation... it's too neat. Too clean. Better if they had just put their platforms in a wall for you to punch through. Can't help but think it may be a big trap."
"Duly noted," the flag officer responded. "Have they mined the area?"
"Heavily so." The stealth ship's captain chuckled. "We nearly ran into one when we had to go systems-silent to evade an enemy contact. That was the worst 5 minutes I have ever experienced."
"Thanks for your advice, Captain," Rakno ended. "Get to Tigeria and get some rest."
"Thank you, sir. Much obliged."
Rakno pondered the new information. How fortunate, their rendezvous point was. One last moment of respite before the storm. A single Banshee nova missile launched through a small Slipspace portal, to clear the minefields and cause some intermittent damage -- and then full-out attack. It may still work yet...
"10 minutes out," Captain Gaius reported.

(*)Erm...yes. Do you know what they are? No. Can you find out? Yes. When? As soon as you breach the upper orbitting defenses and scan the planets surface, and allow me to post an under layering ORBAT for ground opperations. Which will be covered far later in the thread likely. So will it mostly be a surprise as to what you will face below? Certainly. Will you even reach the point where a ground battle takes place, as you would have to break my fleet up first, and the Federation fleet? Personally, I think me and Oblivion are gonna own you two. But again, I wouldn't want to seem like I didn't think I could win.
The fight, she is on.
IC:
"Damage in Sector 12. Were putting a gauge on the Jump CoOrds. We have them already, and the Armageddon sent back a Hypervelocity round where the enemy fire came from. Were scanning outter defenses, and we locked down the direction where the damage was taken. Battle groups A 2 and A 4 are moving out."
Harkaan leaned forward in his seat, watching the Holomap move dots and number along. All the while, a metre moved along for when the allied Federation fleet would arrive...and THEIR reinforcements.
"Carry on. Rear Admirals, prepare for battle. Fore Admirals, form up into main battlegroups and prepare to flank and pin enemy fleets. Flotilla guards, prepare to meet enemy head on. Defense Walls, prepare for assault, and prep batterys and arrays. War has come."
All around the area, crews prepared, loading weapons, and shifting power. Ships moved into formations, and the Battlecruiser sat waiting. Waiting.
Waiting.

Silence and emptiness where all the 4th Assualt fleet had experienced for a few hours, when suddenly, colors, other ships, and best of all a Giant Planet to defend. The Fleet was around two-thirds of it's intended size, it had to split it's forces due to the Oblivion Battlemoon taking so much time to enter the battlespace, so the Admiral, Gaius Marius, thought that for now it would be best to split his fleet. Currently the 4th Assault Fleet Consisted of;
Nine Warlord Class Battleships
Three Atlas Super-Carriers
Eight Galactica Class Battle-Cruisers
Ten Tartan Patrol Frigates
Seven Marius Assualt Frigates
Three Novus Stealth Ships

OOC: YAY, POSTING!
The two naval security troopers snapped to attention as soon as the doors slid open, their hands forming into perfect saluted as soon as they found out who had just entered. Admiral Garrus Fenris stepped through into the room. It was a medium sized room, designed for secure and private transmissions. Fenris made a small wave if his hand, and the two guards clicked their armored heels together, and marched from the room. The Admiral entered a few commands on the keypad, and the large holographic projector came to life. The lights dimmed, and a large holographic face, dwarfing the Admirals body by several times, formed.
"Admiral Fenris." The large holo-face said.
"Lord-Admiral." Fenris replied, saluting.
"Report on your status." The large face said.
"Sir." Fenris began "We are approaching the rendezvous point with all speed, and will be arriving within the hour."
"And the enemy?"
"Sir, the designated coordinates have been placed outside of their long-range detection capabilities."
"I just got off a secure channel with the Imglotian Minister of Defense. He has taken the liberty to inform me of the enemy's defenses." (OOC: Just act like we talked, TGLT.) "Apparently, their scouts have been very active in the area since the battle."
"And?"
"It seems the enemy has been spending their time taken for a possible counterattack. They have constructed a large battlestation, similar in purpose to our own Star Forts. Furthermore, it seems that their defenses seemed to be channeled into luring us into fighting it, instead of a direct line of defenses like we had anticipated."
"I see..." The Admiral said, pondering the strategic possibilities of attacking that kind of defense. The enemy's strategy would make them fire on the station as the obvious target, while exposing their ships to fire from the enemy fleet. A sound plan.
"The enemy fleet will have certainly bolstered their compliment of ships, and will probably have static weapon emplacements installed on the outer defenses."
"I understand, sir."
"If that's the case, Admiral." The Lord-Admiral responded "I'll leave you in command. I cannot stress the importance of this system. This is one we have to win. For Angenteria. For the Emperor."
"For the Emperor." Fenris responded, bowing his head. With that, the holo-image faded, and the lighting returned to their normal setting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Status report." Admiral Fenris commanded, stepping back onto the bridge of his flagship. Around him, crewmen and women sat at their stations, or moved about the bridge, preparing the ship for the battle ahead.
"Admiral." The navigation officer responded, her eyes fixed on her auspex monitor. "We're coming up on the rendezvous point. Preliminary scans report no activity."
"Excellent." Fenris replied, pleased with his officer's efficiency. "Proceed
"Yes, sir." The officer replied.
A few silent minutes passed, before the Angenterian vanguard began exiting the warp, scouting the intended area. When the all-clear was given, the rest of the fleet arrived, spilling fourth from the Warp.
"All ships, hold positions." Fenris ordered, leaning back in his command chair. The fleet was quick to respond, assuming a practical formation and awaiting further orders.
"And now..." The admiral said. "...we wait."

Admiral Gaius had gotten the Message quickly, as soon as he got it he began relaying orders, he moved his capital ships and other ships that could not cloak to the far side of the planet, taking advantage of the movement of Allied ships to quickly hide, while the enemy was still on their way. Once that Was done he Cloaked his smaller vessels and hid them at key ambush points amongst planets and Asteroids, along the way to the Planet. He was going to make useage of his hit and run advantages to harass the enemy and force them to make mistakes that would lead them towards the "Drive-Way" of ships The United Fleets had set up.

I have Stationed my Larger ships closer to your sun and away from your forces, at this position it will be next to impossible for the Enemy to detect us, but at our current position we had to deactivate our sensory Equipment as to keep it from being destroyed, as such we will rely on your signal to attack, we have also stationed our cloaked vessels along the way to your forces to rattle the enemy a bit, and perhaps to get them to make chase, we will draw them to your "Drive-way", were you can destroy them without Mercy, if you have any problems with my Tactics, feel free to comment, After the battle.

A few days ago, I made a very long, very detailed post. In the quick reply box. Of course, you know what happens if you take to long to submit said reply, and I forgot to back it up in a text document like I tend to. Then... RL is catching up to me. I've been accepted to University of Wisconsin-Madison (yay), but I have many scholarship essays to write and forms to fill out and whatnot (damn). Basically... I'll eventually (I know, sorry) get around to posting my rendezvous with Angenteria, but... my posts'll be few and far between. Not that they weren't already, but you know what I mean.
Don't hold me to it, but I think I'll at least get to the meeting point tomorrow. Off of school for MLK Jr.
