Dear sir or madam,

On the 10th of November 2008 A.D., the Federation of Aerecia was formed after the member states of the Union of Aerecia (UA) banded together to form one massive super state, with the exception of four states on the Western Coast, who have maintained a nationalistic approach to most matters and were never members of the UA.

Aerecia is a subcontinent located in the West Pacific Ocean, and was heavily colonised during the 1000s-1900s by many peoples of the world, from Frenchmen to Arabs. In the late 1900s, most of these colonies were given full independence and sovereign status, and the UA was formed to assure that no former colony failed and collapsed. Each ex-nation is of small to moderately-small size, and each region provides a home to one ethnic group (ex. Aerecian Arabia provides a home for Arabic peoples, while New Anglia provides a home for English peoples).

The Act of Aerecia passed the UA Council by a 85% majority, and has finally led to the creation of the Federation of Aerecia. A Government, headed by the President, was established, along with military and other important factors of nationhood. Each former nation has been rebranded 'region' for official reasons, and the former nations must be addressed as 'The Region of Paresia', for example.

Now, a federal government has been put in place, headed by myself, Adriana Alessandro. Democratic elections are held every four years, and currently the Aerecian Democratic Party, the ADP, is in power. The ADP is a moderate conservative party which was elected earlier this month.

As Aerecia enters this brave new world, we humbly request that nations, big and small, take time to fill out the below form carefully and as best as they can, in order to receive an official embassy in Aerecia City, the capital of the Federation of Aerecia. I truly hope that we will soon see many embassies in Aerecia City, which will hopefully lead to prosperous relations between Aerecia and the world.
