OoC: Idea, Iraq War/GWOT NS Game

I was thinking, what is we played an NS version of the Iraq war, starting wuth the rundown (2002) where there was discussion in the World Forum (UN) about sanctions regimes and weapons inspectors, powerful nations invade another nation, a global pariah, for weapons of mass destruction, and peace protests?

What if we did that, of course, that could be done like we all play analogues to RL nations and go from there or we go off site and RP with actual nations, USA, UK, Iraq, etc...

OR, if there are enough people and someone playing is a Democrat or a Moderate republican, we could go as far back as 2000 and maybe someone would want McCain or Gore win in 2000, we RP 9/11 and the ensuing Global War on Terror.

Just an idea, any one interested?

I believe he has read that already Imglot, considering he specified that he would go off site if they were going to do RL nations.

Besides that, I have a feeling that this would lead to a bunch of Republican/Democrat (Or their equivalent in countries other then the US) bitching.

This is the part in question.

Cape State, I'd recommend simply deleting this part of that sentence.

I read that, but thanks. I didn't want to do utter clones, . I mean, if this is to be on this forum, I just want to throw ideas around, but I understand the rules a lot. This was why I said analogues, not carbon copies.

I think that an analogue is different than a copy, similar but different, like how surimi (imitation crab) is an analogue to crabmeat.

That's why this is only concerned with, specifically, "real life" alternate history threads. Kahanistan, ICly, is some sort of weird alternate-history southern Israeli breakaway nation. That's fine. Were Kahanistan to play the role of real-life Israel in a reenactment and alternate-history version of the Arab-Israeli war with other people playing Syria and Egypt, that wouldn't be appropriate.

No, no reenactment of RL historical events in any form.

What's the fun of fighting an easily defeatable enemy? It would be much more interesting to go against a 10+ billion Islamic superpower between the existing NationStates in NSWorld.

Even if it was using fake countries that were similar to real ones?

I did not want to do a reenactment at all. I would not want to see the same thing, not one bit.

I dunno, just the thought of it being handled differently.

Then, playing the same situation, but having a different outcome is an alternate history thread, which is what the guide thread refers to.

Or this might just be a bit of fun?

This isn't about entertainment amount, this is about the RP's... legality? Is that the word? -- in International Incidents.

Why don't you just have a war on terror in a desert country which started when they assassinated someone? Or something -- use your bloody imagination.

Well the purpose of this was to simply have a discussion, to brainstorm ideas. Of course, what would be an alternative to this problem that you would suggest, then?

^^

An idea would be to drop the premise of removing a dictator who is potentially linked to a terrorist group which destroyed a nation's buildings. In other words, get away from reality.

Well, I am trying to be a South Africa but without the Boers, so yeah...

I just already realized that I might not need to start my own game to have some problems involve me.

Africa? I though Hataria enslaved that continent already///*

*To draw point that invading/RPing with NPC/RL nations/geography is kinda pointless considering how massive this MMO has gotten...
