It was an icy night in the city of Dragade. It seems as though there were five hundred cameras surrounding a small stage . James McCoy stood before the press with ecstatic eyes.
"My people," He started loudly "For many years I have tried to do this and now I have fianally found the time, words, and . . . cameras" James snickerd." He slowly looked around at all of the people. "For hundreds of years Myakoo has used slaves to do the most manual of labor." James sighed. His eyes suddenly flickerd to a fierce excitement "And now I am doing away with slave labor! From now on if you want something done pay someone!" He said with obvious happiness.
Half of the crowd roared with excitement, the other half scowled at the idea of having to pay for work. It was a huge day for Myakoo.

[OOC: I never knew you had slavery. And, Zinaire is right. Nobody is going to just go, "let's give up our slaves for the better of all!" Unless, of course, you're in Asia, where group thinking is very, very important, but that's beyond the point.]

OOC:// yeah but we still have gas chambers. If anyone rebels they will be punished. we wouldn't have to deal with them that way if it wasn't for the GWO thing.

OOC - to be fair, the threat of abolition only led to civil war once. On the other hand, it contributed to a revolution in Brazil, and was a gradual process, often involving compensation, everywhere except the US. So, yeah...

OOC: At the very least, just saying "hey guys, let your slaves go" one day isn't going to do the trick.
