Lundastal

“My fellow Lundastalians,” started President Alexey Petrenko, smiling and waving to the crowds which had gathered outside the Head Offices for his first speech as President. Beside him, Prime Minister Dmitri Fedotov stood, silent as death and looking unusually humble.

"I am pleased to announce that, minutes ago, your votes were finally counted completely and the result is that my party, the Lundastalian Democratic Conservative Party, has gained power for the first time, defeating the LSP by many votes!" he smiled, the crowds erupting into another round of celebrations.

The Lundastalian Socialist Party, or the LSP, was, though they denied it, a cesspool of corruption and communism, mixed with closet Nazis and Stalinists. The last time the LSP had been the ruling party, 1950, the Republic of Lundastal had nearly gone to war with America, along with the Lundastalian economy collapsing. No wonder the people, minus the communists and the neo-Nazis, hated them.

"Now, as I take the position of President of this great country, I first wish to thank all who voted in the elections, even those who didn't vote for my party, and I wish all those who campaigned in the LDCP and other parties good luck for the future."

"Westernized PR shit, bah, it's destroyed this country," thought Fedotov secretly, fighting the urge to roll his eyes. After the socialist-communist 50s, every single political party, minus the LSP, had westernized and started doing some utter dog shit for votes.

"I will take power on tomorrow, and I will start working towards reconstructing our education and healthcare systems, and Foreign Minister Vladimir Dmitriev, who sadly cannot be here tonight thanks to flu, will begin his work to integrate us more into the international community!"

"For now, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" he finished, walking off the stage and back into the Head Offices. The crowd continued the cheers and the celebrations for ten minutes or so, before disbanding and heading their separate ways, all of them equipped with heavy winter coats for the heavy snow which was falling in 'The Land of the Snow Leopards'.
