Anyone interested in a non-canon FT nation(s) versus MT/PMT nation(s) war? Essentially, this means an invasion by the FT nation(s) on the planet of the MT/PMT nation(s) and fighting them, being repelled (maybe) by the resilience of the defenders rather than the less-advanced technology.

It would be completely non-canon to II.

This has been done before, and it usually ends up in failure, but there IS a rare crystal I've been seeking from Earth...

Try to get the setting and the basic story line sorted first. The game Crysis is brilliant to look at for something like this. Set on an unnamed tropical island taken over by another government discover proof of alien life. Only problem is that its still alive, ensuing carnage and mayhem. Among the soldiers running about this island are a bunch of civilians that studied the alien technology. They send a brief distress call out to anyone who can hear it. That way you can multiple nations fighting it out for control of the island, the alien technology and the alien threat.

Sounds very interesting but yeah, if we don't get a solid story line set up then this will be trash, plain an simple. I'm not so sure we should follow the lines of Crysis however but maybe something similar.

Hence the title: Interest Thread.

I'd join right away, but for now I'll just keep checking back here.

I'd be playing as PMT in this considering that's pretty much all I do. So if this does happen I'd have a tough fight on my hands. I think maybe we should have it start as a first contact type of deal, like some sort of explorers come across Earth and land to investigate the planet. Then we would go from there...

I'm definitely up for this, though if I might make a suggestion, one FT nation vs. three MT ones would probably be best.

If you think its best Leistung, I mean it sounds fair to me.

im thinking 5 on 1 would be better if its MT vs FT

3 or 2 on 1 if it's PMT vs FT

Back on topic, would the FT nation in question be able to just glass the planet, or would it have to invade by land?

I imagine you'd have to invade. It would kind of defeat the whole purpose of this thread if you just glassed it.

If I were the FT nation in question, I would shoot Mysetic Hive Spores at the planet, while my flying breed swarmed the atmosphere, being capable of transitioning from space flight, to atmospheric.

The Spores that I mentioned would contain ground troops, and would additionally in turn transmute into Hives.

The Hive ships would depart, leaving you with a landed Alien Swarm. The Hives would replenish the swarm as was deemed neccessary.

Destroy the Hives, Destroy the Swarm. But remember, something immune to the lethal radiation of space, would also be immune to the radiation of a Nuclear bomb, so don't waste your ammunition.

As for why I'm coming to invade, I would use the old Tyranid classic, and use the Genestealer cult. After all, we don't know what TRULY landed in area 51.... It could've been a dead space ship with five broodlords inside, ready to sow a Genestealer revolt...

It will most likely be a national RP, at least that seems to be where we are heading. A swarm type of species eh? Looks like this will be a barrel of fun.

Sound good to me. But don't have everyone as characters for the Swarm. It probably best if most people tried to stop the swarm. Also if we are going with this idea, it will probably be best if we a lose. A LOT at the beginning then, we come back at them with big hairy balls.... I mean Death Rays!

Well, to RP as Characters in the Swarm...

Well, My four characters are off limits, that is The Overmind, Irene, Zasz, and Dangaloth, though to make it easier, I'll let you have Leeway with The Overmind Zasz and Dangaloth, so that you can RP them giving you order or direction.

Alternativly, you could RP new Cerebrates trying to prove their worth to The Overmind.

Then again, if other FT'ers are trying to stop me, I'll use Hive Fleet Leviathan for the numbers it boasts and keep the Hive Ships in system to combat their ships, unless everyone in FT agrees to a planetary war without our glass an MT country at the press of a button (or the firing of a synapse in my case) ships of doom.

I like that where some FT nations try to stop the Swarm.
I'll save your butts if everyone agrees.

I'm totally fine with a second FT nation that is trying to safe the MT/PMT nations. Perhaps that nation tries to send a warning to the MT/PMT nations? Maybe in The Day The Earth Stood Still (original) style?

Well, it'd be the fair thing to do. I mean how soon are they likely to find a Hive hidden safe and sound under a mountain? Meanwhile, I keep expanding and adding new hivesand before you know it, I'll be overrunning them. Besides, someone's got to help cure them of Nurgle Rot, the most dastardly of all diseases, even topping aids, when my sons of Nurgle die, openly rotting and festering and spreading airborne plagues to the four winds.

I only promise you this: Once released into The Materium, Chaos only spreads and grows.

We all also need to clarify a few things. Are we going to have two FT nations? How will we begin this thread? Just want to make sure we have a smooth beginning and all. I know we already have are FT attacker. (The Eternal Swarm) I'm also assuming Charzak is the good FT nation right? and I'll be one of the PMT nations so, where does everybody else fall into?

I'd like to offer Chazada as one of the PMT nations.

An FT nation coming to the defense of the MT ones completely defeats the point of the RP.

I totally agree with you Leistung. Another FT nation would dramatically reduce the MT/PMT nations role in the thread.

So now we have two PMT nations, Chazada and me. We will need a few more I think, any takers?

Chazada is PMT, Chazakain is MT and won't be in this rp.

I needed a reason to invade, and that's the reason. The Khaydarin Urajis, a crystal of extraordinary possibilities. Known by many names to many species, it's powers are legendary, and all who find it seem to skip a few evolutionary levels. For now, you simply know it as Mineral X-13, until a better name can be found. It's being taken to a lab for tests.
