I'm new to MT, so I don't know much about national economies, military logistics and the like, but I'm not sure if this is entirely possible, at least not at the level of this nation.
Could somebody tell me if this is a godmod or not please?

Hurtful Thoughts

Not sure this is right place for thread, but I not a mod, and I don't often appeal to the masses on such issues outside of NSD.

Standard Ortillery bombardment, feasable, though expensive as hell.

Greal has that kind of stuff floating around for such dedicated strikes, my solution is far simpler, but a tad less cost effective.

Although on the other side of the coin, no mater how you do it, the concept is about as cost effective as advertising that you can blow up cows with RPGs to grow a tourism industry, in India.

Particularilly since trigger-happies like to consider the launch of any space weapon the pre-deployment of an unknown WMD.

Edit: "Poles, represent'n! WooT!" Says the American

I might have stretched the numbers a little, I can reduce it.

As this seems to be developing into an OOC thread for Of Revenge, Blood and Tears... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14329223&postcount=19), I'm renaming it and moving it to II.

If that's not what you're doing, drop a brief post in Moderation.

I might have stretched the numbers a little, I can reduce it.
It's okay, I was just checking to make sure you could do it.
And this thread is now officially the OOC thread for Revenge, Blood and Tears. I'll post it as a link in the IC thread.

ok, I'll put up a IC post later today.

Could you please add the OOC thread link to the first post of the IC thread? Thanks

Hey, I didn't know there was an OOC thread...

Okay, my post's up. I'll get up my own ORBAT later on.

I'd just like to say that A.I.'s this advanced are PMT not MT

The LY589 features an extensive suite of active and passive protection systems. The primary means of protection is integral to the weapon's AI. In essence, the most obvious line of protection is the system reacting intelligently, addressing or responding to manifesting threats quickly and in accordance with pre-existing rules of engagement and target priority assessment parameters. Hellions under fire automatically manoeuver evasively, deploy active ECM, flares and chaff as appropriate. In certain circumstances, dependent upon the nature of the threat (and thus most commonly in response to surface-to-air systems), one or more Hellions may detach from the salvo and engage the systems which are firing, rather than continue along the programmed strike route. This aggressive defence may result in the loss of several Hellions, but serve to ensure the overall success of the strike, and simultaneously further suppress hostile anti-missile systems.
The intelligence and adaptability of the system goes further than that, and the LY589s may ignore systems that do not pose a threat or present an opportunity, while simultaneously uplinking the detail to the battlespace management system. For example, a ground-surveillance radar from a known position may be ignored in favour of continuingon an offensive action.

Nor do I think this is MT either, as the Dominion is a PMT nation.

One of the newest systems is the High Energy Liquid Laser Missile Defense system (Dr. Hell). The laser defense system is an advanced technology that can be used in both defense of the ship as well as in an attempt to down an enemy aircraft. This ship has been installed with thirty separate devices all around its body and in particularly sensitive areas like the bridge. The spread of lasers has been determined to be able to cover all angles that a missile could enter from, and has even been shown to be able to target torpedoes in the water with enough advanced warning and targeting data. They are all encased in metal boxes that allow for maximum rotation from side-to-side and one hundred eight degree adjustment from front-to-back.

and nano mesh is definitely NOT MT

Armor
The entire ship is encased in nine hundred and fifty millimeter Triad Armour that protects it against anything imaginable.

This armor is composed of three layers. The first is a self-healing layer, composed of a glue-like substance between two thin layers. When the substance comes into contact with air it begins to congeal and harden, forming a cover over the hole. This only works on smaller holes - missile damage is impossible to heal. The second layer is a titanium-aluminum alloy to provide torsional stiffness and some protection from bullets. The third layer is a carbon-silicon nano-mesh that will seriously slow down any bullets that penetrate the first two layers, preventing them from doing damage to internal mechanics. The armor is roughly 10kg per square meter.

Might I suggest you upgrade this conflict to PMT or request that Greal down tech his fleet...

also ships not in service until 2016 with rail guns are definitely NOT MT either

Due to the above, this thread's tech level has now been raised to PMT. Also, Greal, I really think you need to stop firing missiles at me: You've already shot over a million, where the hell are the rest coming from?

One has to remember that a ship at sea has a very finite storage capacity. When you put 10,000 worth of missiles down range you have used up every thing the ship had on board -if it could even hold that many- and more needs to either be brought out to the ship or the ship return to port to reload- and that can take days or even weeks of travel.

Missiles are not small like bullets they are relatively large - with warheads in the 1,000 pound plus range, and then you add in the rocket motor, the fuel etc. Even a Silkworm is 18 feet long. They take up space!

I don't know when my next IC post will be up. There's too many responses to do.
