RE: The Deployment of the G.L.T. Apocalypse
Minister,
As you have been briefed, the 1st and 4th IMGLOT SN fleets were defeated in battle against a foe whom was reinforced by a massive fleet ship (estimated length of or near 34 kilometers). The engagement came, not as an unprovoked act of aggression on our part, but as a result of the unwarranted attack of the enemy (sometimes identified as the Pact Rhine) upon our allies, Angenteria, whom also had a fleet presence in the area. Of most concern was the system's habitable planet; or rather, what that planet held. This terrestrial body holds resources that could propel our fleet -- and our Immortal Lands -- to heights previously unknown.
We were forced to retreat, the enemy's reinforcements far too powerful at the end of the engagement. However, Minister, I believe that it would be in our nation's greatest interest to take that planet by force, colonize it, and upon establishment of permanent garrisons, make it the second planet in our empire. The odds are long and stacked against us. The enemy is likely to have established defenses, but I am of the belief that prompt action can and will allow us to strike them before they can establish a firm foothold, enabling us to gain control.
The G.L.T. Apocalypse, large though it is, is still smaller than the enemy ship, but it is about evenly matched, so far as we can allot. Obviously, though, with the other enemy fleet elements likely to be present, we will need more ships. I hereby request that you then, in addition to release of the Apocalypse, permit me to take from our yards a number of the newly-commissioned Raptor-Class Capital Carriers (true carrier warships, as opposed to those glorified cruisers that we call "Assault Carriers"), in addition to a number of Death-Class Battleships. The usual complement of the Doombringer Assault Carriers and Plague Destroyers would also not go amiss. I also believe that we should accelerate the commissioning of the Demon-Type Frigate, as it would provide us with a greater number of capital warships. I propose this order of battle: [OOC: Click on Class Name for pic]
- 1 Apocalypse-Class Titan
G.L.T. Apocalypse (http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/3/12/18/f_Ragnarok2m_626e361.png) 26.7 km
The key point in this battle. Can both give out and receive significant amounts of punishment.
10 Death-Class Battleships (http://img03.picoodle.com/img/img03/3/9/30/f_Deathm_5e8daa3.jpg) 2.2 km
- G.L.T. The Black Death
- G.L.T. Reaper
- G.L.T. Slayer
- G.L.T. Pale Horse
- G.L.T. Genocide
- G.L.T. Murder
- G.L.T. Doom
- G.L.T. Scythe
- G.L.T. Invincible
- G.L.T. Spectre
Our reliable battleship class, built around its twin Ragnaroks and designed to cause mayhem among enemy ships.
8 Raptor-Class Capital Carriers (http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/3/12/21/f_Demonm_f834a62.jpg) 2.6 km
- G.L.T. Kite
- G.L.T. Hawk
- G.L.T. Eagle
- G.L.T. Harrier
- G.L.T. Osprey
- G.L.T. Falcon
- G.L.T. Buzzard
- G.L.T. Vulture
Perhaps our second trump card after the Apocalypse, these new ships will turn the tide with their on-board starfighters and bombers.
Each Raptor holds 20 each of Orion Starfighters and Gemini Starbombers, for a total of 160 of each type.
10 Demon-Class Frigates (http://img19.picoodle.com/img/img19/3/12/21/f_DemonBattlem_eb69f8b.jpg) 1.6 km
- G.L.T. Baal
- G.L.T. Astaroth
- G.L.T. Mephistopheles
- G.L.T. Abbadon
- G.L.T. Satan
- G.L.T. Furcas
- G.L.T. Ipos
- G.L.T. Kulak
- G.L.T. Lucifer
- G.L.T. Orobas
Remember, Minister, that our classification of "Frigate" is different from that of most nations; most consider it a small, expendable vehicle. What we call a frigate is another nation's Battlecruiser.
20 Plague-Class Destroyers (http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=galleonxq0qj9rg8.jpg) .8 km
- G.L.T. Pandemic
- G.L.T. Epidemic
- G.L.T. Pox
- G.L.T. Sickness
- G.L.T. Leprosy
- G.L.T. Pestilence
- G.L.T. Infection
- G.L.T. Affliction
- G.L.T. Scourge
- G.L.T. Blight
- G.L.T. Scar
- G.L.T. Famine
- G.L.T. Virus
- G.L.T. Diseased
- G.L.T. Typhus
- G.L.T. Cyprian
- G.L.T. Bubonic
- G.L.T. Endemic
- G.L.T. Typhoid
- G.L.T. Fever
Little needs to be said about these mobile Ragnaroks.
18 Doombringer-Class Assault Carriers (http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/3/12/5/f_Doombringerm_db91e95.jpg) .66 km
- G.L.T. Obliteration
- G.L.T. Destruction
- G.L.T. Doom
- G.L.T. Hellraiser
- G.L.T. Raider
- G.L.T. Breaker
- G.L.T. Indestructible
- G.L.T. Chaos
- G.L.T. Destroyer
- G.L.T. Ender
- G.L.T. Summoner
- G.L.T. Glory
- G.L.T. Pathfinder
- G.L.T. Annihilator
- G.L.T. Stonewall
- G.L.T. Charger
- G.L.T. Executioner
- G.L.T. Gladiator
While we fall short on numbers, each carrier is outfitted with 5 Orions and 5 Geminis.
250 Orion-Class Starfighters (http://img26.picoodle.com/img/img26/3/12/21/f_Orionm_c647f80.jpg)
Quick and agile -- designed to find and destroy enemy fighters.
250 Gemini-Class Starbombers (http://img27.picoodle.com/img/img27/3/9/27/f_Geminim_0892bda.jpg)
Our Geminis can be equipped with low-yield nuclear warheads for more intense destruction, and I'd recommend it on this mission.
Minister, if we contact the Angenterians, we are sure that they will aid us in our mission. I therefore urge, in addition to passage of this Order of War, that a line of communication be opened with our allies, so that we may coordinate our efforts to take the planet.
May the Great Lord accept our plans,
Admiral Harold J. Rakno

RE: Retaking the planet held by Pact Rhine
Sir or madam,
I am the commander of the Imglot force that engaged the Pact Rhine forces in defense of your fleet, honoring the Watchman Treaty. While I know that time is short, we are already making plans to engage the Pact Rhine in that system, both for joint posession of that resource-rich planet and for the sake of vengeance. It is crucial that we move as quickly as is possible, so that we may strike before they can truly establish a defensive position. Enclosed (OOC: Above) is our given Order of Battle, as well as a small description of our fleet deployments (OOC: Last paragraph before ORBAT).
While this is a massive force, bear in mind the number of ships that the enemy possessed when we were forced to retreat; additionally, as mentioned above, the G.L.T. (Great Lord Tiger's) Apocalypse is a slight match for the enemy titan, which essentially means that the true burden will come from smaller ships. Whatever you can contribute to the effort will be a great benefit to our efforts. We, the Great Lord and whatever deity you wish to believe in willing, will have our revenge.
Sincerely yours,
Admiral Harold J. Rakno
OOC: Just the intro thread. No action will occur here, but I urge that Angenteria, The United Fleets, and Oblivion2 post their own ORBATs. In addition, TUF can set the stage for the sorts of defenses he's building up, so we can get an idea of what awaits.
Before you balk at the numbers, TUF, remember that my Plagues and Doombringers are tiny little sunzabitches, in comparison to the rest of the fleet.
Significant information about the Apocalypse, Demon, and Raptor types are in my Military factbook; but that's all right, because you don't know that the latter exists and only have a vague idea of the formers' capabilities!
