The Murder of a certain Harold Holderness (MT, Open)

Harold Holderness coughed slightly and shifted gears. His car hummed in approval and continued to cruise, the rain pelting against its windows with a cadence. His hands, covered by camel-leather gloves, held the wheel and shift with a steady grip. His eyes, slightly sunken into his pudgy, balding head, were trained on the slick pavement ahead.

The road Mr. Holderness traveled went by the name of Southern Via, and it was deserted. Aside from its utility, the highway owed a regional fame to the dramatic view it provided. It was paved atop a fifty-mile streak of palisades, that overlooked the churning blue-and-gray sea. The water would crash against the cliffs and its spray would reach high, falling short of the edge every time, like a small child reaching for candy. The sky above it usually held a stormy hue, and often disposed of huge quantities of rain. But the horizon occasionally gave way for a dazzling sunset that commanded pilgrimages of photographers.

Mr. Holderness was not there for the view. Instead of the marine expanse to his right, he would occasionally let slip a glance to the passenger seat, in which comfortably sat his cell phone. At an easy arm's reach, he was obviously anticipating a phone call. And it came.

The luxury vehicle's clock struck a cool 6:03 in the evening, and his call came. A confident ring broke an hour long silence and he, with a steady hand, picked up the phone, brought it to his ear, cleared his throat, and flipped it open.

"Hello?"

From the Office of the Chancellor
Dear Mr. Trelease,
In troubles me to inform you that in light of recent events your office and mine will have to break off communication. The investigation of your organization by the Justice Department in regard to the disappearance of Harold Holderness besmirches your name in the political arena and it would do no good by me for us to be associated currently in the eyes of the media.
I trust you understand my reasoning and I hope that the situation does not remain so restricting.

Thank you for your compliance,
Chancellor Peter Stone

National News Wire
Body of Harold Holderness Found in Hunter County

The charred remains of Harold Holderness washed ashore in Hunter County last night, 45 hours the reporting of his disappearance. The Justice Department, which is currently conducting the investigation of Mr. Holderness, has yet to issue a statement. Mr. Holderness was a prominent parliament member and a leader of the Federalist Party.

I'm looking for several nations to fill roles.
Basically, Harold Holderness was an aggressive member of the Parliament who, amongst other ambitious trade regulations, was pushing for serious taxes on foreign purchases of the diamonds that lie in Cavanah's northern mountains.

The roles would be the perpetrators of his murder (a bomb implanted in his phone), probably a criminal syndicate in neighboring countries' diamond industries.
Also, I'm inviting anyone to play the Provincial Party head, who was Holderness' rival and backed by shipping industries, who is undergoing investigation for the murder and the prime suspect.
Finally I need someone to write the role of the diamond mafia, who is also under the impression that the murder was the doing of the Provincial Party, and is looking to do something about that.

The idea would be well-written engaging, god-mode-free roleplay.
This is a sort of introduction thread to by nation, the Confederacy of Cavanah. If this thread and if this garners any attention I'll be opening an OOC thread. I'm currently making a map and writing a factbook for Cavanah. Please forgive me for the unorthodoxy and imperfections of the thread, it is my first...at least in a long while.

OOC: This sounds interesting enough. Tag for the perpetrators of the crime.
