The Clinic

In the dead of night or the heat of the day the ominous clinic always was the beacon of terror among the God-fearing and conscious people of Kurona. Standing in the heart of Sonomi protected by razor-wire fences on all sides it was the place where the strange and unusual were sent. The freaks: Transvesties, Fags, Lezbos, all those who explored a sexuality that was out of the confines of tradition were sent to be fixed.

Dragged out of the prison carriage was Aya Ito as young innocent farm girl who found an interest with girls over boys. This scared her parents deeply so they sent her. At check in her name age and other vitals were given and she was taken to the shower area. A high powered hose shot water on her to clean her of any filth from her country life and lesbian behavior. "Done."

She was taken soaking wet down the halls of the dark clinic with only a small lantern and flashes of lighting from the ever constant thunderstorms. "This is your room." They threw her in onto the hard wood floor. The wood was rough and not shaven like most in Kurona. There was a small cot for her to sleep on, no sheets.

"Do I get cloths?"

"You get your uniform tomorrow."

A jet black rolls royce pulled up at the clinics gates, the driver getting out and opening the back door, allowing a tall Dragona ,with black scales and wearing a very long black trench coat, to step out. She stood at the gate, the driver waiting in the car incase his pasanger wasn't allowed in after all.

"Entry papers please." The guards requested.

The rough cloth bag was torn off his head, even the light touch of the cloth setting waves of pain through him as they touched ther bruises, burns and cuts from a previous interrogation, the light burning his eyes as soon as he saw it. He clenched them shut, hours of blindness from the Black Bag making his eyes oversensitive. He tried to pull his hands apart; no success. The handcuffs clinked in a fairly determined way, so he simply relaxed, as best he could with his hands behind his back and what he assumed to be an extremely bright light being pointed directly at his eyes. He couldn't see anything, but he remebered these cells well enough. He heard the metal door open, hinges rusty, and the hobnail boots of the Peacekeeper moving over the bare concrete floor. A scrape as the metal chair across from Nathaniel was moved out from the table, then silence as the officer sat down. After a good few minutes, the officer spoke.
"You are Nathaniel Lawrie, nineteen years of age, son of Peter and Elizabeth Lawrie, currently residing in 247 Hampton Lane?"
Nataniel said nothing. The officer mutely nodded and continued.
"It says here that you went to St. Treyarch." Silence. "You know you really aren't doing yourself any favors."
"Where are Elena and Jakob?"
"The two that came with you?" The officer made a 'pow' noise. "Re-educated by order of Emperor Torquearmarda." Silence. The officer sighed. "It might have sprung to mind why you aren't being executed?"
"I assume it was for some nefarious purpose."
"Not particularly, no. You see-" Here he heard the man lean forward, resting his elbows of the table between them, "the Emperor hates killing his citizens. However, it is like treating a mad dog. You cannot save it, but you can put it out of its misery. But, most diseases, if not all, can be cured. You have been volunteered to go to a re-education facility in a lovely little country called Kurona. You may not refuse."
"If I do?"
"A spell in the Iron Maiden, followed by some thumb screws and then a lively beating."
"I'll go."
"Yeah, I thought you would." The man chuckled. "You leave now. Do not attempt to put up a struggle. You will be shot at the first sign of resistance. Have a nice day. Bag him." He heard the bag rustling before he felt it suddenly cover his face, the end tightening around his throat. He went unconcious after a few hours.

He was woken up by a keval glove smacking him across the face.
"Wake up maggot. We're 'ere." A pair of Templar troops were dragging him towards the gates.
"We have a delivery here." He guards shook the limp figure they carried between them. "For re-education from Void Templar."

Andre reclined in his large black chair, feet on his desk, and bottle in his hand. He had before him his middle drawer open, where he had created a little shelf for his ashtray, which had the remains of two large cigars glowing peacefully within. In his bottle-free hand, Andre clutched a small glass, filled halfway now with the Kemerovian Spirit of the Revolution, a vodka as well as a play on words.

Every spring he had to have more of the stuff smuggled in, and if the local police ever raided his home, he would probably go away for a long, long time... Andre preferred not to think about that.

That was the only problem with this place, he mused, taking another gulp of the clear liquid, alcohol and smoking were both prohibited. There was, however, a benefit to the long-standing ban; none of his co-workers knew what exactly his breath smelled like when he came out of the office...

Now, however, Andre had a new job. He was no longer the single despot of a five-room doctors office on the outskirts of the city. No, now he had a boss, and hours, and real patients. It was the old times, in Kemerovia. Except, there, everyone's breath smelled like his.

This was how Dr. Andre Sorgochevik had always passed his time at work, and this new job was not likely to change that mood to severely...

Hearing footsteps, however, would change his mood, and when he did, Andre was quick to kick the drawer closed, tossing the bottle and the quickly-emptied glass in after it.

Moments later, the door swung open, "We have a new patient, thought you might like to inspect this one before she get's assigned, see how we do things here," reported Andre's new assistant; a local whose name the foreigner had not even bothered to learn. Obviously, the aide, whose name was Atsuko Midori, knew nothing of Andre's habits, and he intended to keep it that way.

Grumbling, Andre rose, his wrinkled white coat falling down around him. He started to walk over towards the door, stumbled slightly, and steadied himself on the desk.

Eventually, he managed to make it out of his room and, haltingly, moved down the hallway towards the front desk. He had been spending too much time in his office, these past few hours.

Walking up to the receptionist, for he was now in fairly good control of his motor skills, Andre asked her in relatively good Kuronan "Where is the new patient? I would like to see it."

ooc: well be that as it may, i doubt it'd go well if she flew there using her wings. Incase you hadn't guessed yet she's a half dragon, bit more scary for the inmates.

IC: Hanagaru reached into the folds of her coat with out even changing expresion. As her coat moved to the side when she reached inside, it revealed a few knives and a phial of orenge liquid. Seconds later she presented the guards with her papers.

Turning to see the aproaching templars she said "Oh spiffing, even the templars have 'em eh?" in a mock upperclass acent (not dissimilar from the steriotypical british acent)

"Let's double him up with a girl. Maybe the sight of breasts, long hair and slender build will begin the process."

"Well this is an usual choice, but I think we can for this one time."

They led him to the same room with Aya inside. "You have a room-mate for the night. Get acquainted, your both going to be here a long time."

Constantine Laurens had always been devoted to helping people with their physical problems wherever he had worked whether it was a local clinic in New Constantinople or some hospital in Sonomi; it had been in Sonomi that he had heard about the new asylum that opened. The rehabilitation of people with alternative lifestyles sounded quite interesting in his opinion and he had always wanted to work at least once in an asylum so he applied for a position. Sending his daughter to school and giving his stay at home wife a tender kiss, Constantine walked to the asylum, showed off his entry papers, and walked inside to speak with the receptionist. He wore a warm coat, an aura of authority and knowledge was around him, and he had a picture of his two beloved ladies in his wallet. It was always a pleasure to think about them. He cherished them. He loved them. He desired nothing short of happiness for them.

The asylum didn't look special to him. Aesthetical appeal was substituted for a standard look typical of places where people with differences were pushed aside into the abyss of obscurity and never to be remembered. Constantine noticed Andre but all he did was smile a little at him. Besides, he was far more concerned with getting himself actually working with a patient. Constantine smiled at the receptionist. "Excuse me, madam, but can you tell me where I may find a patient? I'd really like to start working."

(she would have come in by boat though I wouldn't care if she did fly with her own wings. Kurona is devoid of most technology even of the 1920's. A lot like Classical Pre-War Japan and Classical Ireland.)

"Welcome." They opened the gate and allowed her to enter.

Andre nodded to the receptionist and Constantine on his way out, and made his way down to the holding area.

Constantine nodded. "I suppose I'll take a walk around as I might as well get acquainted with the place where I am working; then, I believe, I'll stop to see the high power wash-down. Thanks for the information, madam."

He turned away from the receptionist and proceeded to explore the asylum so as to know where everything was located; he made mental recordings of every inch of the complex and once he had finished with that, Dr. Laurens decided he would head over to see the high power wash down. The entry facility wasn't hard to find. As he walked inside, Constantine discovered the line of naked men and women waiting to be washed and looked at them with hardly any emotion upon him. It wasn't that he was apathetic towards their plight but he didn't feel a need to complain about what he deemed to be standard procedure.

He took out his notebook and began writing notes about how they looked sullen faced and emotionless; devoid of any sense of appreciation for the program they were put into, as the people said, for their own good. He suspected many of them did not want to be here; but then assumed that the doctors were saying that it was just a symptom of denial, of putting fences in your mind to impede yourself from finding progress, and so forth. He had to admit that it was kind of arousing to look at the naked women; that was only because of his own experiences with his wife. There was no way he would cheat on her here.

He noticed in the distance one of the officials, so to speak, and so he went over to talk to him. "Excuse me, sir, I am Constantine Laurens, one of the doctors of this institution. If it is possible, at all, might I take one of these patients with me once you're done with them? I'd like to start analyzing them. After all, isn't that what you want?"

Constantine smiled before waving his hand around. "They really don't look like they want to be here but that's probably just a mere inevitability. Some people don't think they have problems when they end up having many of them."

"Thank you" was all the response the receptionist got before Hanagaru walked off in the same direction as constentine, stoping next to the guad he was just talking to and looking into the room with barely concealed disgust before noticing she wasn't alone and asjusting her expresion acordingly "Disgusting arnt they?" she said to her self more than anything, raising her 'eye brow' as she saw constentine enter the room.

Constantine turned to see Hanagaru looking at him and the girl and had heard her words which didn't seem to concern him. She didn't look human in a sort of way but he didn't seem to want to ask about her looks. "You must be one of the doctors. You may call me Dr. Laurens. What may I call you? As you can see, I'm just working here with Miss Sakamoto."

Andre watched for a moment as the two patients spoke with one another, a naked man and woman, sitting in the same room... Neither seemed particularly aroused.

Andre noted that before he opened the door suddenly, "You both," he demanded, "Stand upright." His tone was neither quiet nor comforting, and his body language suggested a projection of authority, a projection not hurt by his thick frame and resonating voice.

Nathaniel stood up, propping himself against the wall. He kept mouthing his personal motto. Even though it was the Void's national motto, it still served him well. Nemo me impune laccessit.

"For four years I loved her. We did everything together."

Constantine wrote all of the information down in his notebook before looking back at his patient. "You loved her? I assume that imply a falling apart of the relationship? Well, even homosexuals aren't immune to the degration of relationships. Tell me, though, when was the first time you felt in love with this girl? Prior to her presence, did you feel attached to girls? I think I'll look for a boy for you to meet. I'm sure that there are cases of lesbians being shifted to what you'll hear called the proper path but who knows how it will turn out. Anywho, give me that information."

Constantine sighed. "I think a physical exam will be held after this; I'm going to make sure everything is alright. You must know that I'm a certified doctor with plenty of cases solved here in Sonomi due to my work so don't think I'm just going to experiment on you. I'm not going to. Disregard any carnal connotations of the word as well."

Aya obeyed standing up promptly. It was tough for her she was tired winded cold scared and hungry

"Yes sir."

"You will call me Dr. Sorgochevik," Andre said, understanding his name likely far too foreign for her to remember, and not worrying about it too terribly much,

"Hold your arms apart," he ordered, and, as she obeyed, Andre began to make observations in a little notepad he produced from his coat. As he wrote he muttered his notes under his breath, in his native Kemerovian, occasionally casting glances at the young, naked body standing obediently before him. Clinical thoughts were not the sole occupant of his mind.

A few seconds later, he replaced the notepad and, approaching her, he prodded with his middle and forefinger the underside of her arm and sides repeatedly.

Finishing this unusual exam, he motioned that she may lower her arms, but added, "Keep still,"

He then placed both his hands on her head, seeming to feel around the top of the skull and side of the face, as if looking for something distinctive.

This strange procedure went on for a moment before Andre's gaze fell upon Nathanial, "You, hold out your arms,"

Ignorant of any meaning in the position of his patient's hands, Andre drew again his notebook, but spent significantly less time on the visual inspection of Nathanial than he had only minutes before on Aya. Andre was not in need of confinement here, by any means.

Initiating his examination, Nathanial was subjected to the same finger-prodding, head-groping technique that befell his roommate.

Finishing, Andre made a single remark in Kemerovian, turned back towards the door, scribbled for a second in his notepad, then, turning his head to the patients, "I am finished here today, you may sit."

The whole process may have taken five minutes, and Andre was gone.

If either of the two had spoken Kemerovian, they would have understood Andre's remark to himself, "Strange. Their proportions are average..."

Constantine wrote down the information in his notebook before contemplating it in silence for a brief moment. It reminded him of when he had fallen in love with his wife so many years ago but he didn't let that get in the way of analysis. "I assume Makiko is going to be sent here as well or, out of fright, she may have converted to heterosexual norms. After all, who says that we cannot give up our convictions on the mere basis that, should we not, we would incur punishment? Anyway, enough of the philosophical rhetoric. Please stand up and spread out your legs. I'm going to give you a physical exam."

He began to circle around the young woman, his hands prodding and poking all over her body, his eyes focusing on parts such as the breasts and the arms. An ailment could be found anywhere, he knew, but it didn't seem like she had one at all. Well, she didn't have any physical ailments. Constantine didn't get aroused by this at all. The only time he could get aroused with a naked woman was when his wife was the woman. After the exam was finished, Constantine smiled. "You seem to be in fit physical conditioning and thus I see no reason to be concerned with you in the physical sense. What we will focus upon is your mental condition. Obviously, I'm here to help you get back to the norm. You will be like me. Perhaps you'll find a man to marry; I really don't know whether or not you will successfully come out of here reformed or be cast away as an epic failure. A doctor can only hope, after all, for in some situations his expertise may be relied upon in vain. I shall take my leave of you, Miss Sakamoto, and please don't think I hate you. Doesn't the saying say that we must love the sinner and hate the sin? Farewell and good luck."

Constantine walked out of the room and sighed before walking down the halls before he walked into an office that had been made for him. He closed the door and took out the picture of his wife and daughter, putting it on the desk, and smiling before he went to work with his notes. He didn't mind if someone came to visit him; just as long as they weren't too much of an impediment to his work.

Andre made his way back up from the patient's room - he could not stop thinking to himself: cell - to the front desk, "I would like to know where I can find whoever is in charge of the newest patients, specifically, the two most recently brought in," he said to the receptionist.

Andre had not taken the time to learn the names of the two people he had just examined, that was not important, for, in his mind, they were in a cell, and they were in it because they were prisoners. If he could discover what made these people behave the way they did, then perhaps he could cure it.

No infections had made themselves obvious to him, but he wanted to be kept abreast of their progress, so as to monitor the disease's progression and perhaps better identify what exactly these two people were afflicted by.

Constantine smiled at the worker before he returned to his notes. Once he felt that he was finished with the studying of the notes he had written, Constantine decided to look around some more. Exiting his office with a smirk, he began walking down the halls in hope that he may learn more about the asylum. He checked the time whenever he found a clock and remembered that he ought to be home by dinner lest his wife question him. She was just quite curious at times, he thought, and he could understand any concern she might have had.

Constantine noticed Andre at the desk of the receptionist and greeted him with a smile. If he was going to be working here, then he might as well get to know his colleagues.
