AN NATION REBORN
After years of civil war, the new nation of Mareregnum emerges from the ashes from the former island nation of Dominatus.
The country has been torn in two for many years. The land formally known as Dominatus was an economically strong nation with many private enterprises in which the former corrupt government allowed relaxed laws upon in return for financial support. Millions of the common people were affected by this as many were forced to move into polluted slums along the coast as the country became a corporate police state.
This was the scene of the country for a decade before the protests started breaking out as a civil rights movement took to the street. The protests soon after turned to bloodshed as the police fired on the protestors and the major cities quickly turned to riots. It is then that Prince Michael, a man that it whom is said the people love, made a daring statement proclaiming that it was time that the monarchy should return once more before disappearing with a small gorilla task force.
Civil War had begun. Through the years the corporation run country tried to hunt the prince's forces, proclaiming him a criminal, but the mountainous forests provided a safe haven for the gorilla forces as they commenced hit and run attacks on vital instillations. Winning hearts and minds of the people, Prince Michael, soon raised an army to combat a full scale war.
On the 16th of December 2008, the prince's forces captured the corporate state's HQ and the flag bearing Prince Michaels’ golden dragon flies on the government building to this very day.
Today has been marked a historic moment for the new nation of Mareregnum and its peoples as Michaels’ coronation took place and he marked in his speech what he envisaged for the future of the island nation. He marked that as king he will rule Mareregnum benevolently and "like the phoenix from the ashes" he foresees the nation becoming strong with its people safe and proud once more. He finished his speak saying “One nation, one king, one people, one Mareregnum.”
He has also invited leaders of other nations to the island to celebrate and talk of the future of both their nations and the island of Mareregnum.
