General Information:
The federational military is divaded into six main operational categories:

Federational Land forces

Federational Land forces is the oldest military branch of Cukarica it is consisted only from proffesional contracted soldiers and few divisions of semi-professional troops .Its organization, structure, armaments and equipment are tailored to support their assigned missions and tasks, predominately on the ground.Also the Land Forces are tightly tied to the other branches of the Federational Military for higher effectivnes and faster response to crisis situations.
The obvious benefit to a country in maintaining armed forces, is in providing protection from foreign threats, and from internal conflict. In recent decades armed forces personnel have also been used as emergency civil support roles in post-disaster situations.
Expenditure on science and technology to develop weapons and systems sometimes produces side benefits, although some claim that greater benefits could come from targeting the money directly.
Federational Land Forces are primarily responsible for:
* deterring armed threats
* defense of the territory
* creating conditions for mobilization and development of the Army and other bodies, and organization of defense system,
* participation in peace-keeping operations and international military cooperation and
* providing support to civil authorities in countering non-military challenges, risks and security threats.
Manpower:
The Federational Land Forces is the largest army branch within the Military of Cukarica. Currently there are about 750000 professional soldiers.After the reorganization, the number of professional troops has grown, while the number of conscripts has decreased. Conscription has been abolished in the Land Forces,but its still alive in the Federational guard, and all military personnel is aproximently 70% professional.After the entire reorganisation process is over the military will have aproximetly 900000+ semi-professional troops,able to respond to crisis situations.
Organisation structure:
-The current Federational Land Forces are organized into 6 Land Forces Corps, Combined-Arms Artillery Brigade, Special Brigade, River Flotilla, Military Police battalions and independent supporting,fast reaction,shock,armoured,special forces and artillery battalions.
-The six Land Forces Corps are bigger than the regular modern Corps.and their size is more akin to a modern army group.The each Land Forces Corps consist of ten Divisions, one command battalion, two infantry Brigades, one self-propelled artillery battalion, air defense rocket artillery battalion,2 tank brigades, five mechanized battalions, six logistic and ten engineer battalion. Only exception is the Shock Brigade, which have only ten infantry battalions,one armoured battalion and three pontoon battalions.
Every Corps has its own logistics and acts independently.
Also the Military has the possibility to mobilize 10 more Corps in state of emergency and full scale war.

Equipment:
Standard infantry rifle
Standard infantrymen have kevlar and body armor.Equiped with grenades and standard CZ-99 pistols as secondary weapons.Also they have M21 rifle.
It chambers and fires the 5.56x45mm NATO or .223 Remington round. It is gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire firearm with a folding stock.

* Hammer forged barrel with chromium plated rifling to increase accuracy

* 40 mm under-barrel grenade launcher
* Flash hider to decrease blinding of the operator and to stabilize the weapon
Armoured units:
Standard M-90 tanks(mostly),T-80A and M-84 are used as main battle tanks.As the M-90 MBT and M-80A IFV are the main armored units in use, a small number of T-72's are used for training purposes(about 200).

Self propelled artillery is mainly Nora-M84.
The 152 mm field gun-howitzer M84 NORA-A was developed in the beginning of the 1980s at that time Yugoslav Military-Technical Institute. It was introduced in Yugoslav People Army (JNA) arsenal in the 1984. It is based on the Soviet 152 mm towed gun-howitzer M1955 (D-20).It has been imported in Cukarica in the 80's and is widely modernized and durable at the moment.
Also there is around 60 Akatsiya curently in use.
The 2S3 Akatsiya (Russian - 2С3 «Акация», English - 2S3 Acacia) is a 152 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by the Soviet Union as a response to appearance of American 155 mm M109 howitzer and produced during the Cold War. A project development started in 1967 according to the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of USSR from 4 July, 1967. 2S3 is its GRAU index for self-propelled artillery systems.
There is also PzH-2008 battalion bough only recently from Universal defense weapon systems.
his vehicle is an upgraded PzH-2000, currently in use by many militaries around the world. . It can fire both direct, and indirect at enemy targets.
Two men can fire 75 rounds within 12 minutes without overheating. It is currently one of the most advanced vehicles in use around the world. It is protected against light shells, and artillery fragments.
Also few regiments have BM-21 "Grad" and M-87 Orkan MLRS.
They are rocker systems each has 12 launch tubes mounted on FAP 2832 truck. It has a range of about 50km, able to deliver war heads, anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.

Air-defense weapon system are 2K12 "Kub" and S-125 Neva/Pechora.
The 2K12 "Kub" (Russian: 2К12 "Куб"; English: cube) mobile surface-to-air missile system is a Soviet low to medium-level air defence system designed to protect ground forces from air attack. "2К12" is the GRAU designation of the system. Its NATO reporting name is SA-6 "Gainful".

The Isayev S-125 Neva/Pechora (Russian: С-123 "Нева"/"Печора", NATO reporting name SA-3 Goa) Soviet surface-to-air missile system was designed to complement the S-25 and S-75. It has a shorter effective range and lower engagement altitude than either of its predecessors and also flies slower, but due to its two-stage design it is more effective against more maneuverable targets.

Also as armoured transports are used BVP M-80 ICV/IFV,BOV-3,BTR-80.
Professional troops mainly use BTR-80 and BVP M-80 ICV/IFV,and BOV-3 is used in the Federational Guard and the State Police as riot control and similar police actions.Some of them are used as target practise for the military because they are obsolete and old.Institute of Land warfare is curantly researching a new armoured transport vehicle which is goinf to come in use and mass production in 2009.

In its concept and applied technical solutions, the vehicle is particularly adapted for use by modern infantry units and special forces engaged in missions within anti-terrorist and peacekeeping operations, with emphasis on engagements in urban conditions, settlements and on intersected terrains,in environments involving ambushes, antitank mines and improvised explosive devices set up by an adversary.The concept of this vehicle practically represents an advanced MRAP, featuring certain properties (mobility, terrain negotiating capability and fire power) of MRAV [1]class combat vehicle, this combining main characteristics of both,nowadays highly important classes of wheeled armored vehicles.When designing the concept of the vehicle, special emphasis was placed on achievement of high mobility, system of armor protection, armament system, ability to transport 10 infantry men who should be able to quickly embark or evacuate the vehicle using tail gate.

Armor STANAG 4569, level III+ (protection against 12.7x107 mm B-32 API round fired from 100m) at front and level II at the sides and rear.By fitting add-on armor of laminated composite structure,attached on basic armor, vehicle ballistic protection is rated level V at front and level IV at all other sides. Armored hull design allows quick fitting and replacement of add-on armor sections by vehicle crew, which, when fitted, do not degrade basic functions of the vehicle.

Strategic Interbalistic Missile Corps
Federation of Cukarica has nuclear arsenal at its disposal but its not an agressive country.Its nuclear troops are mainly defensive and pose no external treat to any other country.
The newest imported sistem is Topol M of Russian design.
The RT-2UTTKh «Topol-M» (Russian: РТ-2УТТХ «Тополь-М», NATO reporting name: SS-27 Sickle B, other designations: RS-12M1, RS-12M2, RT-2PM2) is one of the most recent intercontinental ballistic missiles to be deployed by Russia and bought by Cukarica, and the first to be bought by Cukarica after the domestic design fail attempts to make a good missile launchers.
The Topol-M is a cold-launched, three-stage, solid-propellant, silo-based or road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile's length is 22.7 m and the first stage has a body diameter of 1.9 m. The mass at launch is 47,200 kg, including the 1000 ~ 1200 kilogram payload. Topol-M carries a single warhead with a 550 kT yield but the design is compatible with MIRV warheads.
In its Russian designation РТ stands for "ракета твердотопливная," Raketa Tverdotoplivnaya ("solid fuel rocket"), while УТТХ - for "улучшенные тактико-технические характеристики," uluchshenniye taktiko-tekhicheskie kharahteristiki ("improved tactical and technical characteristics"). "Topol" (тополь) in Russian means "poplar". It is designed and produced exclusively by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology, and built at the Votkinsk
Also there are stationary missile silos and its presumed that Cukarica has about 15000 Nuclear warheads at its disposal.

Special Forces of The Federation of Cukarica are divided into five main battle hardened units.

Special Anti-terrorist Unit
The (SAJ) The Special Anti-terrorist Unit (Cukarican: Специјална Антитерористичка Јединица (САЈ) / Specijalna Antiteroristička Jedinica (SAJ)) is Cukarica's prime counter-terrorist unit.Their numbers are about 100 men.
Special Anti-terrorist Unit has two assault teams, A and B, and logistics team C. SAJ duties include combating terrorism, insurgency, organized crime, hostage situations and high risk warrant executions as well as VIP protection,also the Federational goverment deploys them as embassy guardsmen in various countries.
Members of SAJ are better equipped and clothed than any other Federational police units, as all counter-terrorist units in the world are. There are several training "centers" for the SAJ, one of which is the Paklenik training center in Central Cukarica, where they have a model town for training in warfare in an urban environment. The average SAJ operator is between 20 and 35 years in age. He must all be athletic and proficient in martial arts. Recruiting is conducted on May 13 every year.
Units are equipped with a vast array of specialized firearms including:NATO-made 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm assault rifles, FAMAS, M4 Carbines, submachine guns, shotguns, riot control agents, stun grenades, and high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers). They often have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, entry tools, HMMWV vehicles and night vision optics just like the Gendarmerie.

Special Operation Unit[AKA Blue Berets]
Special Operations Unit,is an elite special unit of the Cukarica's Service of State Security.
The elite unit in the Federational military,not much is know about this shadow battalion.Its main base is close to the Naval base Tikidion and press reporters are not alowed o take pictures of the unit nor their base of operations.
The "Blue Berets" are the best equipped unit of the military. They are independent from other army and police units because they have their own logistics. Most of the weapons used by "Blue Berets" are NATO and Russian weapons and a mix of weapons from Cukarica's own design M4A1, CZ-99, M76 sniper rifles, M80 Zolja RPG, M84 machine gun,also some foreign weapons like HK MP5, M4A1 and others. The Unit also has a number of vehicles like Russian-made UAZ-469 jeeps armed with Browning 12.7 mm, Nissan pick-ups with Zastava BGA 30mm and M84, Pinzgauers, armoured Land Rover Wolfs, HMMWVs. There are also some armoured combat vehicles like BOV M86 APC and BOV-3 AAA, M-80A IFV, but also a number of light rocket-artillery systems like "Košava" and "Saće". "Blue Berrets" also had air unit equipped with a number of Soko Gazelle light anti-tank helicopters, Bell 212 helicopters, two Mi-17V transport helicopters, two Mi-24V attack helicopters, a number of Soko J-20 Kraguj aircraft and few other aircraft.
Their numbers are guessed about 750-1500 men.
Also they have access to the most of the army equipment and have three Apache Longbow atack helicopters of western design.

Gendarmerie
The Gendarmerie consists of 4 battalion sized units.
Their main missions are:
* Restoring peace and stability if they have been heavily disturbed
* Counter terrorism
* Countering violent groups
* Repressing riots in prisons
As civil duties include: to provide security and public peace, to investigate and prevent organized crime, terrorism and other violent groups; to protect state and private property; to help and assist civilians and other emergency forces in a case of emergency, natural disaster, civil unrest and armed conflicts.
Its military duties include to provide, preserve and protect security and public peace, public order, to protect state and private property, to assist other security forces in case of emergency, civil unrest, war; to repress riots; to reinforce martial law and mobilization; to fight and apprehend suspected criminals, terrorists and other violent groups ;
Its additional duties are to perform any duties decreed in the decrees of law and regulations other than civil, military and other duties and the duties given by the governmental decrees based on them.
The Gendarmerie uses special combat uniforms depending on situation and operational setting, is equipped with various camouflages. It also has its own traditional, dark blue with red trim and collar tabs, ceremonial uniforms for special events.
Unit are equipped with specialized firearms including submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, carbines, riot control agents, stun grenades, and high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers). They often have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, special entry tools, armored vehicles, anti-riot vehicles, infantry fighting vehicle, utility vehicles, night vision and thermal vision optics.

723nd Reconnaissance-Commando Battalion
Its main tasks are reconnaissance and demolition.Used as a Special Ops sabotage unit behind enemy lines they are one of the most elite units in the Federational military.
The battalion is armed with NATO-made 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm caliber rifles, 5.56 mm South African automatic rifles,Steyr AUG rifles, 7.62 mm, 7.9 mm and 12.7 mm caliber sniper rifles, 7.62 mm machine guns and various types of pistols and revolvers of the battalion's own choice. The 72nd Reconnaissance-commando Battalion's heavy armament consists of disposal, NATO-made grenade-launchers, hand rocket-launchers also of domestic production, the "Wasp" Armour-piercing rocket system, and the 60 mm and 82 mm light mortars and optic-electronic devices for night operations.

631st Special Paratroop Battalion
The 631st Paratroop Battalion is one of the battalions constituting the Special Brigade of the Federational Land Forces. It used to be of brigade-size, but it has the status of a battalion within the restructured Cukarica Army. It is intended for special, reconnaissance and diversionary operations deep behind enemy lines.

Composed of 5 fleets which are equiped with modern weaponry.
Most of the vessels are made in the Federation and have high tech domestic weapon systems,but some are bought from foreign navies.

Their most recent deployment was at the Nordfire incident when they reinstated the Monarchy to this country.

Aspire class battleship:
With most of the design taken from different naval warships of the World navies Aspire all is a very effective multirole battleship.This class was developed by the Federational Naval warfare Institute as a response to numerous Pirate attacks in the South Cukarican Sea.The design is not in fact a ordinary battleship design because it is more of a heavy battlecruiser.
Armament design is mainly taken from Kirov class battlecruisers but heavily modernized.
This class is equipped with missiles and guns as well as electronics. Its largest radar antenna is mounted on its foremast, and called "Top Pair" by NATO. The Kirov class's main weapons are 20 × P-700 Granit (SS-N-19) Shipwreck missiles mounted on deck, designed to engage large surface targets, and air defense is provided by 12 × 8 S-300F launchers with 96 missiles and 2 × 20 Osa-MA with 40 missiles. The ships had some differences in sensor and weapons suites;

Sea Dart or Guided Weapon System (GWS) 30
Sea Dart is a two-stage, 4.4 m long missile weighing 550 kg. It is launched using a drop-off Chow solid-fuelled booster that accelerates it to the supersonic speed necessary for the operation of the cruise motor, a Rolls-Royce (Bristol Aerojet) kerosene-fuelled Odin ramjet. This gives a cruise speed of over Mach 2.5, and unlike many rocket powered designs the cruise engine burns for the entire flight, giving excellent terminal manoeuvrability at extreme range. It is capable of engaging targets out to at least 30 nautical miles over a wide range of altitudes.
AIM-132 Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile
This seeker has a long acquisition range, high countermeasures resistance, approximately 90 degrees off-boresight lock-on capability, and the possibility to designate specific parts of the targeted aircraft (like cockpit, engines, etc). The ASRAAM also has a LOAL (Lock-On After Launch) ability which is a distinct advantage when the missile is carried in an internal bay such as in the upcoming F-35 Lightning II.

Conscription has been abolished in the Land Forces,but its still alive in the Federational guard, and all military personnel is aproximently 70% professional.After the entire reorganisation process is over the military will have aproximetly 900000+ semi-professional troops,able to respond to crisis situations.
Organisation structure:
-The current Federational Land Forces are organized into 6 Land Forces Corps, Combined-Arms Artillery Brigade, Special Brigade, River Flotilla, Military Police battalions and independent supporting,fast reaction,shock,armoured,special forces and artillery battalions.
-The six Land Forces Corps are bigger than the regular modern Corps.and their size is more akin to a modern army group.The each Land Forces Corps consist of ten Divisions, one command battalion, two infantry Brigades, one self-propelled artillery battalion, air defense rocket artillery battalion,2 tank brigades, five mechanized battalions, six logistic and ten engineer battalion. Only exception is the Shock Brigade, which have only ten infantry battalions,one armoured battalion and three pontoon battalions.
Every Corps has its own logistics and acts independently.
Also the Military has the possibility to mobilize 10 more Corps in state of emergency and full scale war.

Standard infantrymen have kevlar and body armor.Equiped with grenades and standard CZ-99 pistols as secondary weapons.Also they have M21 rifle.

Self propelled artillery is mainly Nora-M84.
The 152 mm field gun-howitzer M84 NORA-A was developed in the beginning of the 1980s at that time Yugoslav Military-Technical Institute. It was introduced in Yugoslav People Army (JNA) arsenal in the 1984. It is based on the Soviet 152 mm towed gun-howitzer M1955 (D-20).It has been imported in Cukarica in the 80's and is widely modernized and durable at the moment.
Also there is around 60 Akatsiya curently in use.
The 2S3 Akatsiya (Russian - 2С3 «Акация», English - 2S3 Acacia) is a 152 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by the Soviet Union as a response to appearance of American 155 mm M109 howitzer and produced during the Cold War. A project development started in 1967 according to the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of USSR from 4 July, 1967. 2S3 is its GRAU index for self-propelled artillery systems.
There is also PzH-2008 battalion bough only recently from Universal defense weapon systems.
his vehicle is an upgraded PzH-2000, currently in use by many militaries around the world. . It can fire both direct, and indirect at enemy targets.
Two men can fire 75 rounds within 12 minutes without overheating. It is currently one of the most advanced vehicles in use around the world. It is protected against light shells, and artillery fragments.
Also few regiments have BM-21 "Grad" and M-87 Orkan MLRS.
They are rocker systems each has 12 launch tubes mounted on FAP 2832 truck. It has a range of about 50km, able to deliver war heads, anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.

The Isayev S-125 Neva/Pechora (Russian: С-123 "Нева"/"Печора", NATO reporting name SA-3 Goa) Soviet surface-to-air missile system was designed to complement the S-25 and S-75. It has a shorter effective range and lower engagement altitude than either of its predecessors and also flies slower, but due to its two-stage design it is more effective against more maneuverable targets.

Federation of Cukarica has nuclear arsenal at its disposal but its not an agressive country.Its nuclear troops are mainly defensive and pose no external treat to any other country.
The newest imported sistem is Topol M of Russian design.
The RT-2UTTKh «Topol-M» (Russian: РТ-2УТТХ «Тополь-М», NATO reporting name: SS-27 Sickle B, other designations: RS-12M1, RS-12M2, RT-2PM2) is one of the most recent intercontinental ballistic missiles to be deployed by Russia and bought by Cukarica, and the first to be bought by Cukarica after the domestic design fail attempts to make a good missile launchers.
The Topol-M is a cold-launched, three-stage, solid-propellant, silo-based or road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile's length is 22.7 m and the first stage has a body diameter of 1.9 m. The mass at launch is 47,200 kg, including the 1000 ~ 1200 kilogram payload. Topol-M carries a single warhead with a 550 kT yield but the design is compatible with MIRV warheads.
In its Russian designation РТ stands for "ракета твердотопливная," Raketa Tverdotoplivnaya ("solid fuel rocket"), while УТТХ - for "улучшенные тактико-технические характеристики," uluchshenniye taktiko-tekhicheskie kharahteristiki ("improved tactical and technical characteristics"). Special Anti-terrorist Unit
The (SAJ) The Special Anti-terrorist Unit (Cukarican: Специјална Антитерористичка Јединица (САЈ) / Specijalna Antiteroristička Jedinica (SAJ)) is Cukarica's prime counter-terrorist unit.Their numbers are about 100 men.
Special Anti-terrorist Unit has two assault teams, A and B, and logistics team C. SAJ duties include combating terrorism, insurgency, organized crime, hostage situations and high risk warrant executions as well as VIP protection,also the Federational goverment deploys them as embassy guardsmen in various countries.
Members of SAJ are better equipped and clothed than any other Federational police units, as all counter-terrorist units in the world are. There are several training "centers" for the SAJ, one of which is the Paklenik training center in Central Cukarica, where they have a model town for training in warfare in an urban environment. The average SAJ operator is between 20 and 35 years in age. He must all be athletic and proficient in martial arts. Recruiting is conducted on May 13 every year.
Units are equipped with a vast array of specialized firearms including:NATO-made 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm assault rifles, FAMAS, M4 Carbines, submachine guns, shotguns, riot control agents, stun grenades, and high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers). They often have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, entry tools, HMMWV vehicles and night vision optics just like the Gendarmerie.

Special Operation Unit[AKA Blue Berets]
Special Operations Unit,is an elite special unit of the Cukarica's Service of State Security.
The elite unit in the Federational military,not much is know about this shadow battalion.Its main base is close to the Naval base Tikidion and press reporters are not alowed o take pictures of the unit nor their base of operations.
The "Blue Berets" are the best equipped unit of the military. They are independent from other army and police units because they have their own logistics. Most of the weapons used by "Blue Berets" are NATO and Russian weapons and a mix of weapons from Cukarica's own design M4A1, CZ-99, M76 sniper rifles, M80 Zolja RPG, M84 machine gun,also some foreign weapons like HK MP5, M4A1 and others. The Unit also has a number of vehicles like Russian-made UAZ-469 jeeps armed with Browning 12.7 mm, Nissan pick-ups with Zastava BGA 30mm and M84, Pinzgauers, armoured Land Rover Wolfs, HMMWVs. There are also some armoured combat vehicles like BOV M86 APC and BOV-3 AAA, M-80A IFV, but also a number of light rocket-artillery systems like "Košava" and "Saće". "Blue Berrets" also had air unit equipped with a number of Soko Gazelle light anti-tank helicopters, Bell 212 helicopters, two Mi-17V transport helicopters, two Mi-24V attack helicopters, a number of Soko J-20 Kraguj aircraft and few other aircraft.
Their numbers are guessed about 750-1500 men.
Also they have access to the most of the army equipment and have three Apache Longbow atack helicopters of western design.

The Gendarmerie consists of 4 battalion sized units.
Their main missions are:
* Restoring peace and stability if they have been heavily disturbed

As civil duties include: to provide security and public peace, to investigate and prevent organized crime, terrorism and other violent groups; to protect state and private property; to help and assist civilians and other emergency forces in a case of emergency, natural disaster, civil unrest and armed conflicts.
Its military duties include to provide, preserve and protect security and public peace, public order, to protect state and private property, to assist other security forces in case of emergency, civil unrest, war; to repress riots; to reinforce martial law and mobilization; to fight and apprehend suspected criminals, terrorists and other violent groups ;
Its additional duties are to perform any duties decreed in the decrees of law and regulations other than civil, military and other duties and the duties given by the governmental decrees based on them.
The Gendarmerie uses special combat uniforms depending on situation and operational setting, is equipped with various camouflages. It also has its own traditional, dark blue with red trim and collar tabs, ceremonial uniforms for special events.
Unit are equipped with specialized firearms including submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, carbines, riot control agents, stun grenades, and high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers). They often have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, special entry tools, armored vehicles, anti-riot vehicles, infantry fighting vehicle, utility vehicles, night vision and thermal vision optics.

723nd Reconnaissance-Commando Battalion
Its main tasks are reconnaissance and demolition.Used as a Special Ops sabotage unit behind enemy lines they are one of the most elite units in the Federational military.
The battalion is armed with NATO-made 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm caliber rifles, 5.56 mm South African automatic rifles,Steyr AUG rifles, 7.62 mm, 7.9 mm and 12.7 mm caliber sniper rifles, 7.62 mm machine guns and various types of pistols and revolvers of the battalion's own choice. The 72nd Reconnaissance-commando Battalion's heavy armament consists of disposal, NATO-made grenade-launchers, hand rocket-launchers also of domestic production, the "Wasp" Armour-piercing rocket system, and the 60 mm and 82 mm light mortars and optic-electronic devices for night operations.

The 631st Paratroop Battalion is one of the battalions constituting the Special Brigade of the Federational Land Forces. It used to be of brigade-size, but it has the status of a battalion within the restructured Cukarica Army. With most of the design taken from different naval warships of the World navies Aspire all is a very effective multirole battleship.This class was developed by the Federational Naval warfare Institute as a response to numerous Pirate attacks in the South Cukarican Sea.The design is not in fact a ordinary battleship design because it is more of a heavy battlecruiser.
Armament design is mainly taken from Kirov class battlecruisers but heavily modernized.
This class is equipped with missiles and guns as well as electronics. Its largest radar antenna is mounted on its foremast, and called "Top Pair" by NATO. The Kirov class's main weapons are 20 × P-700 Granit (SS-N-19) Shipwreck missiles mounted on deck, designed to engage large surface targets, and air defense is provided by 12 × 8 S-300F launchers with 96 missiles and 2 × 20 Osa-MA with 40 missiles. Sea Dart or Guided Weapon System (GWS) 30
Sea Dart is a two-stage, 4.4 m long missile weighing 550 kg. It is launched using a drop-off Chow solid-fuelled booster that accelerates it to the supersonic speed necessary for the operation of the cruise motor, a Rolls-Royce (Bristol Aerojet) kerosene-fuelled Odin ramjet. This gives a cruise speed of over Mach 2.5, and unlike many rocket powered designs the cruise engine burns for the entire flight, giving excellent terminal manoeuvrability at extreme range. It is capable of engaging targets out to at least 30 nautical miles over a wide range of altitudes.
AIM-132 Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile
This seeker has a long acquisition range, high countermeasures resistance, approximately 90 degrees off-boresight lock-on capability, and the possibility to designate specific parts of the targeted aircraft (like cockpit, engines, etc). The ASRAAM also has a LOAL (Lock-On After Launch) ability which is a distinct advantage when the missile is carried in an internal bay such as in the upcoming F-35 Lightning II.
