Ralkovia

Rachel Devon sat at her station on the Drill Demon as her fellow crew mates called it. A diamond encrusted tungsten/steel drill sat at the front of the DC2200 held by an arm. Under it several tendrils with long drill pipes buzzed as they were lowered down into the ground. With enough power to drill almost 3 mile underground they had sensors that would alert the crew to the possible location of oil.
Ralkovia had been searching for oil in the Bedson-Ralkovia border region for almost a decade and nothing had been found. What a waste of money Rachel thought to herself only to be interrupted by the beeping of her computer work station. The sensor was off the meter and the platform stopped immediately."I think we hit the motherlode," she said confusing oil for metal which would have made her colleagues laugh if they weren't triple checking the data. Over 1.4 miles down was a large pit full of oil, ground penetrating radar immediately sent back a picture of a large chasm almost 150,000 ft wide and at least 4000 ft deep. Following mathematics it was deemed that any where from 500 billion to 800 billion barrels could be in this chasm.
The Ralkovian Oil Survey Project(TROSP) immediately contacted its superiors of the information. The cost of removing the amount of rock and granite was close to 3 billion dollars and the ralkovian government just healing from economic hardship was unwilling to pay the full 3 billion dollars for the project and other costs.
Thats why it contacted its friends at griffincrest who would most likely be willing help pay for the operation along with ralkovia.
