Through the Fire: The birth of a Nation

The former revolutionary leader, now Supreme Chancellor of the new People's Republic of Stamford Point, George Townsend, went to bed one night after successfully driving out Imperial Tyranny after three years of war, and woke up with the daunting task of creating a government. After some encouragement from his peers, he began work on a grand constitution. With the memory of slavery and oppression still fresh in his mind, he got to work.
Constitution of The People's Republic of Stamford Point
Article I
"Mankind does not go forth into these lands for the benefit of a divine. No, Mankind advances forward to better itself. We cannot exist on our own. Man needs company, and man shall treat his company as his equal." Let none advance without carrying equal weight. Slavery is barbaric, cruel, and inhumane. Let no man squander his spoils, nor force him to ask anything of his neighbor. Let help be given to the needy. Share all with everyone, or be left with nothing. All brothers of man are worth just as much as the other. Everyone belongs to everyone.
Article II
The government shall be divided into three houses.
The Supreme Chancellor
-The Supreme Chancellor serves as Chief of State, Chief Diplomat, Commander in Chief, Head of Foreign Affairs and Head of Party. The Supreme Chancellor shall rule for life, and upon his death, the eldest born son shall take office. Should there be no next of kin, the Upper House shall decide upon candidates that must be approved by all fifteen Councilors, and the members of the lower house, before a democratic election is held. The Supreme Chancellor may be restricted at any time by the Upper House. However, in states of emergency, where quick, decisive actions are required, the Supreme Chancellor has the power of Executive Action. This power promises the Chancellor the authority to overrule Congressional action and take his own, if in the direct benefit of the people of Stamford Point.
Upper House
The Upper House is the most powerful of the Congressional branches. It is made up of fifteen members, each appointed by members of the Lower House, and through Public Election. Upper House members also function as the Chancellor's Cabinet, giving them responsibilities in various Government offices such as the Foreign Ministry, The Department of Homeland Security, The Department of Commerce, The Department of the Treasury, and The Treaty Review Department.
Lower House
The Lower House is a congress of representatives from the three main provinces of Stamford Point. The amount of Representatives is determined by population. The function of the Lower House is to create, ratify, and amend bills or articles of the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights. The Lower House also serves to raise awareness of situations occurring in each province, and, in light of these situations, to call for actions, either legally or martially, to be taken.

The People had read their constitution, and looked upon their leader's face on their Television sets. George Townsend stood before the steps of Parliament, that same Parliament that, just days ago, had housed those who had oppressed the people of this colony-now-nation. Townsend's address included his own inauguration, and the inaugurations of the other chosen members of government. The Upper House was to be made up of Fifteen of the highest ranking members of the People's Liberation Force. The Lower House was to be elected in the coming weeks, and the Supreme Chancellor had nothing to do but finalize his government, and get to work on reconstruction.
Little to no trade during the Three Year's War meant the economy was going to need a miracle. Stamford Point needs strong trade bonds. Stamford Point's main trade consists of Agriculture and textile exports, along with industries established under Imperial decree. These industries include Automotive and Aviation facilities, Mines, Tea, Tobacco and Cannabis farming, and Clothing and Apparel.
George Townsend summoned his Minister of Trade, Nicholas Foster, into his office. Foster saluted his Supreme Chancellor and sat down in the chair before his desk. The Chancellor looked at Nicholas.
"Tea, Minister?"
"No sir, I've had a spot with brunch." replied Minister Foster.
"Quite. How are your children adapting to our new society? And your wife?
The minister looked off toward the window.
"My family is adjusting well, thank you. I'm a far cry from the position I was in a few years ago, but that's all thanks to you. How is your son, sir?"
The Chancellor looked at the middle aged minister. He sighed as his face became twisted with sadness.
"My eldest son has a virus. He picked it up while visiting other countries and attempting to find us foreign support. His efforts were not in vain, but let's leave these matters to be. We have other things to discuss."
With that, the two men forged a plan that would force the once enslaved people of Stamford Point to return to their places of work, this time as unionized workers. Once the major factories were put underway, exports could begin, and a new era of prosperity could take shape.
The Trade minister was given the task of visiting foreign dignitaries with offers of trade, and to hopefully gain economic support.

The Armed Republic of Salzland is not interested in conducting business with a totalitarian state masquerading as a democracy. Effective immediately, the Nation of Stamford Point shall be considered under an embargo. No Salzland companies or citizens will be permitted to do business with the nation, companies or citizens of Stamford Point.
Have a nice day.
Signed,
J. Marcus Davis
(OOC: Note that it is an embargo, not a blockade. There is a difference, despite the dozens of times I've seen people use the terms interchangeably. Learn it, live it and love it.)

On behalf of the Supreme Chancellor, George Townsend, I would like to thank you for your offer of trade. Vessels in Kingsport, Stamford Point will be made ready to travel to the Port city of your choice. These vessels are unarmed, and will be stocked with nothing but the intended cargo and a small unarmed crew. We thank you for extending a hand in international trade, and hope to do further business in the future.

The Supreme Chancellor is appalled at your quick judgment of our nation. Your swift embargo of our goods despite your trivial assumptions of our country, as a collective, is ridiculous and not called for. The Supreme Chancellor, George Townsend, asks your leader to take the time and send an emissary to visit our nation, and to see what our nation holds before drawing rash and ridiculous conclusions.

Excellent news. The port your vessels should head for is Resa International Port and Harbour. Once your vessels enter Londim waters they will be escorted to dock by a small frigate. This is for your protection in deterring pirates.

On behalf of the Supreme Chancellor, George Townsend, thank you for your reply. We are ready to trade whatever goods you request. A meeting between leaders would not be a good thing at this moment. Our nation is recovering from a three year long conflict, and needs swift and decisive action if we hope to remain an independent nation. However, we could send an ambassador until things have settled on the home front. The Supreme Chancellor regrets rejecting the meeting, however, he wishes for a meeting date to be discussed at a later time.
Sincerily,

Sir,
Having previously taken the time to read your Constitution, it is the opinion of our government that no hasty, rash, or unfair judgements were passed upon your nation in our first communique. Your head of state is an hereditary autocrat, your legislative branch can be rendered powerless at any point of time and your people are enslaved under what can reasonably be read as a militant form of Communism to the point where your Constitution blatantly threatens any who dare to not "Share all with everyone."
The Armed Republic of Salzland will not condone such actions, politically or economically, nor will its people. Thus, your nation's products will be embargoed in Salzland and Salzland products will not be made available to your nation, companies or citizens.
Once again, have a nice day.
