Established as a territory of the USSR in the year 1970, it enjoyed the perks of being a Soviet client state, receiving most of it's technologies from there. After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, the nation followed a democracy until 1995, when a revolt involving numbers of the military command ousted and killed President Ivanov. Following that, the small republic entered a state of perpetual civil war which lasted until 2002, resulting in a ceasefire. Elections were held, and the Soviet Socialist party was elected, partially in fact that many followers of President Ivanov's regime where purged over the years. The country quickly fell into a serious depression, until late 2004, where the economy slowly began to rise. The leader of the Soviet party at the time, Anatoly Dityatev ruled until mid 2005, after suffering from a terminal illness stepped down due to pressure from the party and appointed Gregory Yaroslavl as Premier, who was assassinated by the NKVD following intelligence that he was a puppet candidate from neighboring Drakovia.

After a short period without a leader, party officials had decided on appointing Viktoria Kotenko as Premier. She was the youngest person ever given a position of importance.

In 2007 rebels staged an uprising in the cities of Naszran, dragging the MVD and Army into a bloody conflict. After intense fighting for several weeks and the gassing of Naszran, the uprising was put down.

During the same time, the southern bordering nation of Drakovia[loosely based off of Austria and Romania] had attempted to invade, because most of the SRCP's forces were in the northern regions. Once the full force of the military was able to mobilize, the Drakovians were annihilated. Much of their land was annexed, with other sections being given to nations that had helped repel the assault. The nations being the United States of Gibberish America, who at the time had just become allies, the Royal British States, the Blouman Empire and the Federation of Oseato respectively.

Following an economic collapse in 2013, the President at the time, who's name has been forgotten by time, disbanded the government. Civil war once again broke out between political factions and the Army, which lasted for several weeks. After the Military had retaken the capital, the old Socialist regime was put back in place, and fighting continued against Fascist and Democratic rebels around the countryside. After they had been put down with extreme prejudice, a Troika had been put in charge until late 2014, when a crisis involving the members of parliament had occurred. Over a span of 4 days, many had stepped down, while a number decided to hold themselves up in the parliament building in Veblensk. Internal Affairs troops and paramilitaries had stormed the building on the morning of the 5th day.

Following that, party officials announced the reappointment of Premier Kotenko, who had previously been in a labor camp, and in a Socialist paramilitary group during the brief civil war. She had since enplaned several reforms, aimed at fixing the economy.

In October 2015, the Autonomous Republic of Kolgujevska had unilaterally declared independence, resulting in a brief, though extremely poorly executed operation to secure ICBM sites and chemical weapons facilities. Following that, the nation north of the river was annexed and rebuilt. Several Generals were sacked due to the unacceptable casualty rates sustained in the opening hours of the 39 hour operation.

In early December, the President declared an official invasion of Kolgujevska, and The capital city of Petrovic was bombarded with artillery before forces moved in. The Kolgujev president was captured at a border crossing by an MVD squad, and the conflict still continues against remaining forces.

One of Premier Kotenko's reforms was the addition of foreign support program, directed at developing or struggling nations. Currently forces were deployed to La Havana Cuba[?] to train and reequip their air defense systems with up-to-date equipment, in part to recent aggression from their neighbors.

In the Spring of 2015 in the neighboring Republic of Adjikstan anti government forces, aided by PMC's, began an uprising, along with a string of terrorist attacks aimed at government facilities and military bases. Prior to this, the SRChP had a spetsnaz regiment deployed as part of an agreement to strengthen border security and mop up militants who flocked into the mountains following the end of the war in Novistrana. Currently an SRChP Motor Rifle divison is partaking in a multinational peacekeeping operation, while assisting the Adjikstani Army in putting down the uprising.

Geography

The geography of Chernobyl-Pripyat varies greatly depending on the region. While most of the nation consists of extensive hilly plains, there are extensive forests and several mountainous regions.

Several large rivers run through the center of the nation, connecting to an inland sea which later connects to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Yantar region [near the lake] is the lowest point, and occasionally floods. The area is consistent to swamps, however some years the lake shrinks. It's also near a peak, which is a large source of natural gas.

The country has hot summers, cold winters and rarely has a week were there isn't some form of precipitation.

Both the 35km Exclusion Zones in Pripyat and Chelyabinsk suffer from constant thunderstorms, making reconstruction difficult, if not impossible.

Transportation

While many people own motor vehicles, the poor state of roads have made mass transit the popular choice of moving from city-to-city. Currently the best developed railway is centered in the industrial city of Raccoon, and runs through Naszran, Veblensk and the suburbs in between, and in the opposite direction makes many stops in the Urstanian ASSR. A second rail system, almost exclusively used by foreign diplomats is the Lipovic-Triste-Veblensk line. Currently further systems are planned, as the budget allows.

Government

The SRCP is a single-party state. Until 1995, elections were held every 5 years and had a variety of political parties, including the Democrat, Republican, Independent, Socialist, Nationalist and Liberal parties. Following the 5 year civil war, sev

Economy

80% of the workforce is employed by state owned industries, 15% is employed by private industry and less then 5% of employers are employed by foreign companies.

Following Kotenko's reforms, the nation has been enjoying a steady rise after a brief recession, heavily stimulated by regional sales of natural gas and military equipment.

(OOC: Interesting enough. I'm not sure if it's just me seeing it this way, but it looks as if you have some overly huge font in your first post, by the way!
More seriously, though, your 'Troika' interests/puzzles me a little. Okay, it's three important people, but are the national premier (what's his/her actual post?), the minister for internal affairs, and the head of the intelligence services really equal?)

The Troika is basically a "congress", if you put it like that. Laws and stuff like that have to pass through them first[President can't enact things on her own because of this. It sounds complicated, but it's fail-safe per say.]

to: Greal: Ah, yes, that's what I forgot.

(OOC: So, presumably the Premier, as per the Troika, is this President you mention? He/she can't do anything without internal-affairs and intelligence approving it? That is actually quite interesting, I'll have to think about that. Right now I'm stuffed full of cheap vodka, so I'll think about it... later.)

Yeah, Premier and President, if I'm not mistaken are nearly interchangeable, based on the fact that Lenin preferred "Premier", while Krushchev and up preferred President

(OOC: Oh, well, every hierarchical nation has a premier, be he President, Prime Minister, King, Chairman of the Communist Party of X, Chairman of the Presidum of the Council of State of the Y, or whatever, of course. 'Premier' is rarely if ever an official title, just a way of talking about whoever happens to be top-dog. In some 'Communist' states it would be Chairman of the such-and-such who was in charge one moment, and Secretary of the Party the next, hence the need to talk about premiers instead of fixed titles such as in western nations.
BG has none, but we're a proper communist state ;)

The only thing really that I found unusual was that the premier (ie, leader of the country) (in this case a President) can't act without the approval of the leaders of the interior ministry and the intelligence services (since surely that's what the 'troika' means, and that's what their posts equate to).)
