History.

The nation of Qaitia was founded in 200BC by a large group of Arab travellers, looking to settle down and build a nation for themselves. The first Qaitian village was by the name of Saldir, which is the modern day capital of Qaitia. At the centre of Saldir was an oasis, which all buildings, big and small, were based around, though this tradition died after the Birth of Christ.

Qaitia, for the most of the years before Christ, remained an isolated community, ruled by the Royal Family which lasts to this day. The Qaitians slowly developed their nations, and expanded even slower.

In 500AD-525AD, Qaitia embarked on a major modernisation process, trading with other Arabic nations and soon became a major power in the Arab world. Soon, the Empire was born, and Qaitia decided on their imperial policy and started conquering nearby lands with their fearless, often suicidal armies and fierce diplomatic skills. These traits have lasted to today, with the Qaitian Armed Forces often called the 'Arabic Imperial Japan', as a sign of their likeness to the Japanese Imperial Army in World War II.

In 1191AD, the Empire of Qaitia was invaded by a 50,000 strong army of Crusaders, seeking to destroy the Islamic culture of the nation. However, the armies of the nation stood their ground, and, after many deaths which are still unknown, defeated the Crusaders and literally 'slaughtered them', a fact which many Qaitians are proud of. The war became known as the 'War of the Blood', and lasted twenty-five years.

During the majority of the 1200s-1800s, Qaitia continued to expand, fighting against other empires and usaully defeating them, with heavy losses on both sides.

During the First World War, Qaitia was mostly unaware, until a British messenger informed in 1917. The then absolute monarchy government decided not to intervene, as the nations in the war had 'no connection to Qaitia'. The same policy was adopted in World War II.

In 1950, a major event happened; the Qaitian Parliament was formed, as a democraticlly elected body modeled off the British Parliament. This gave a new democratic approach to Qaitia, with the Royal Family losing many of it's powers.

During the rest of the 1900s, Qaitia remained uninvolved in most major world events; though it did adopt the usaul Arabic policy of not reconigsing Israel. The nation ruthlessly expanded into the wider Arab and African world.

In the 2000s, there has been a risse is Islamic fundamentalism, which is slowly being destroyed by the government. No major terror attacks have occured in Qaitia yet.

Geography & Climate.

Qaitia is a huge nation, spanning the Middle-East and beyond, but it somehow maintains a very small population of 7 million, though it has been rising in recent times.

The Empire has most of the Middle-East under its control, minus several countries like Israel and Syria. In Africa, the major territory held is Egypt, though some Qaitian politicians have been hinting at giving them independence.

Mecca has remained unconquered for religous reasons, and instead Qaitia interacts closely with the Holy City.

Like most of the Middle-East, the Qaitian climate is very hot, tipping 40 degrees celsius at times. It is famous for it's large deserts, and the massive oil reserves in the nation, along with the reserves of gold, silver and other precious metals.

((OOC: Since there is no Arabian nation currently roleplaying in International Incidents or NationStates, I have claimed these territories. If there is another Arabic nation out there, I will edit this.))
