OOC: Hello there. Telros here. I am going into MT. I don't really know what I'm doing, aside from a vague idea of what I want. I've racked my brains as to how to accomplish my goal of getting my nation set up and understanding the basics of MT. And this is the only way I can see how. Now, I know I am not going to be the tech/numbers/organization/tactic buffs a lot of you are. Some of you have read an incredible amount of stuff for this and could write plenty of term papers on the various subjects in MT. I am not one of you, I just simply like to rp. So, with that in mind, here we go.

Note, this is a thread asking for IC helping with building a military but it's mostly an OOC effort to try and get situated.

IC:

Announcement from Emperor Alexis Darsin the IV

A man whom appears to be in his late forties appears, sitting on a polished wooden throne, with black silk padding. His robes are a mix of dark red and gold, with black trimmings. Sitting with his hands loosely clasped together in his lap, he nods to the camera and begins to speak.

"Salutations from the Imperium of Telros. I am Emperor Alexis Darsin, ruler of the Imperium and all its peoples. I have come forth to speak of a matter of gravest importance."

Shifting in the chair, he leans forward, with his hands clasped in front of him. He looks eager but determined in his manner as he continues his speech.

"The Imperium has long been very isolationist, only interacting with the world through trade agreements, meetings for new companies and inventions, and perhaps to discuss relations. But we have kept our borders shut, with a slow trickle of immigration and visitors, always seeking to keep our land safe from the troubles of the world. As many of those who have walked our path have realized, we too had come to the conclusion that in a global society such ours, we cannot stand apart from it. We have to accept the good and the bad such a society generates and move forward.

This is why I am announcing my personal call for the nations around the world to send advisors or anyone of such caliber to the Imperium. Our isolationist ways have weakened our military severely, and our long stay from war has also depleted our knowledge of modern weapons, tactics, and military organizations. So I humbly ask for any nation to send aid in form of advisors and such to come into our nation and help rebuild our military. Now, for those whom are more.....inclined for benefits instead of charity or good will, we will be awarding contracts to nations and corporations whom aid us in this endeavor. After all, we will need to update our vehicles, arms, technology and various other required items if we are to take our place on the world stage. If we are to both defend our country to our uttermost ability and to protect our interests across the globe, we will need the weapons to do so.

So, I leave you with a request, and an incentive. Any nation whom aids the Imperium will surely get a....very good reputation in our country, and future aid, be it economic or military, will be assured."

Screen flickers out, displaying the flag of the Imperium.

OOC: Just a note, I'm looking to make a nation with a strong ground force, moderate navy and air force. Navy is to patrol and defend our coastline since we only have one border that is coast, and be able to project our forces and presence outside our borders. Air force is to support the ground force with air support, bombing, and fast reaction forces. That's as far as I understand.

Advice is plenty welcome and OOC comments are too, but don't flood me with them.

OOC: If you want MT hardware, check out Lyran Arms, Ninevah Ironworks, Yanitarian Arms, or Lamoni's storefront. They all have good equipment.

As for guidance about tactics, I'd ask, again, the above. Lyras in particular is very switched on, but he and I go way back, so I admit to some bias.

OOC: Second point, check out the Fedala Accords, if you intend to RP a bit. I never get the time, but they come highly recommended.

OOC: Where is this Felada Accords? And also, I know of Lyras, but I also have NO idea what to get, how to build my forces, etc.

OOC: Also, the Commonwealth of Land Warfare Cooperatives(my Army Storefront). I don't bump it enough or an old enough to have a rep, but it's quite complete regarding land warfare stuff, including things that usually won't be found commonly around because they are "unpopular", like mortars.

OOC: Fedala Accords are here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=554863&highlight=Fedala). They are one of the better and less demanding alliances. They've got some wargames in the works as well, so you can get some experience up soon-ish.

OOC: I don't feel comfortable really getting into anything big without having my nation set up.

I have divisional packages with more or less the equipment needed for an entire division. Also here an example of infantry organization.

One thing to remember is that you'll need at least one non-combatant for each combatant.

Yeah, I know logistics are big in MT. Divisional packages I kinda understand, but how does one build a modern army? My experiences of army building, at most, come from RTS'......T-T

Thanks for tg, Sovereign. I replied.
