Bohovian Nuclear Power Plant Problem!

At around 2:30AM last night, during the 6th day of the operation of the Nuclear Power Plant, the Plant let out a very loud BOOM, almost deafing, as the sound shockwave streached over thousands of kilometers. For an odd reason the Nuclear Power Plant failed. This caused a nation of about 450 million people, to loose power a 14 and a half hour power outage was reported in ALL of Bohovia. After further investigation officials found a leak of Nuclear fluids, as a result the safety devices forced the plant to turn off. The Plant has been fixed and is operational again. MORE ON THIS STORY AS DETAILS COME TO US...

"Nuclear fluids?" You don't actually know how a nuclear power plant works, do you?

We are not a normal Nuclear Power Plant, we have gotten a different way of building these plants, we got an idea from Mewsland, they have asked that we do not tell there secrets

No. Really. There's only one way for a nuke plant to work, and it involves piling lots of uranium on top of even more uranium. Moreso, liquid uranium is A) tremendously hot, and B) typically on fire. Generally, having it is a sign that your reactor just exploded.

Thebb it would appear that the reactor has exploded, but no matter. The problem has been repaired.

This ring a bell? It's been over 25 years, and it's still pretty dangerous there.

WOW! This is quite a graphic photo. Although we have installed multi-million dollar safety devices to prevent diasters like the one in your picture from happening, and the safety divice we installed did what it was suppose to do, It turned off the plant.

I... buh... You...

Right. Let's start over. Liquid uranium means that your coolant has failed, along with any control systems. You now have a nice glob of uranium at a minimum of 4000 degrees celsius melting through the floor of your reactor. By now, your coolant has probably flash-boiled, causing several large explosions and flooding anything below the reactor nicely. The dropping uranium flashes the coolant below to steam again, causing a final, massive explosion that sends radioactive material flying over an area the size of Europe.

I'm quite interested in how you propose repairing that.

EDIT: Oh ffs... If uranium is liquid, you're fucked at this point. It's now pooled together in one nice big molten mass, where it continues to react until it's gone (or, I suppose, below critical mass). It can't be "turned off."

No amount of god moddery could fix molten uranium..

The biggest mistake you made, was taking design advice from Mewsland. However, it could be a Molten salt reactor, where the nuclear fuel is dissolved in the molten fluoride salt coolant. However, if that were leaking, it would also not be good. They never specifically stated what type of reactor it was, or if it used Uranium at all.

Yes, because molten nuclear fuel of any sort leaking won't burn a hole through your reactor. ;) Not only is molten salt both corrosive and burny by itself (hotter than liquid uranium, actually), it also releases flourine gas when it cools, along with a whole host of other problems.

Yes, I think it should be clarified as to what type of fuel is being used, so we can determine the severity of the situation.

OOC: How come every time we criticize him or try to investigate his nuclear power plant, he just leaves the forums?

IC:

In other news today, a massive nuclear explosion has grazed the surface of Bohovia. Scientists will begin investigating the probabilities of radioactive clean-up (as well as the viability and productivity of the land itself) and government officials will be looking towards claiming radioactive wastelands.

In an unrelated incidents, two junior scientists and one soldier have died after their plane crashed over the Ascelon Ocean.

Well, it could be a uranium hexafluoride reactor where the hexafluoride has cooled into a liquid, but is still hot enough to prevent crystallization...

Also, claiming to fix it already will not work, The area will be Radioactive for up to 200,000 Years.

Yes, but then the magnetic containment should fail, which would result in the hexaflouride eating a hole through your reactor, subliming into a gas upon exposure to the low pressure, and killing everyone within a few square miles.

Sorry for not replaying i was out, and im not afriad of someone attacking me, its called having a life. Anyways, we are currently conducting a full-scale radioactive clean up, which will tkae about 1 week.

He's right, you just crapped up the thread, will you stop posting here or just comment on the general topic.

OOC: holy crap dude.... if you had a problem with the reactor you should have dealt with it in a TG. You sensless OOC: dump feast has prevented people from participating in a RP that had some potential.

Today, a huge nuclear failure occurred in Bohovia. Apparently, it has already been fixed, despite the impossibility behind such a move. It has been suggested that this is simply propaganda, as liquid uranium is mentioned inside the broadcast; at such temperatures, the damage would have been irreversible. More on this yet to come. Stay tuned to NDR for the full story.
