New Queen Elected!

Kitsuneville

(Well I was thinking of doing the whole song and dance of an election thread, but I can take a good guess ya'll might be a tad tired of that so I'll skip right ahead, send your compliments, criticisms, and yes you can send death threats but you can't actually act on them, unless I say it's okay and for the time being it's not).

Kitsuneville-The votes have been tallied, the people have spoken and a new Queen has been elected to rule, and her name is Eriko Morioka, age 22 from the Farmers Party she is the second Queen in a row to win an election, never before has this happened in Kitsuneville, and it's also the first time anyone from the Farmers Party has been elected to the Highest Office in the Land.

About: Morioka-Queen-in transition-Morioka was yes you guessed it born on a farm in Kitsuneville's rural south-western country side of Kitsuneville. She was home schooled until she was about 13 when she started attending Middle School. Her passion for politics came on her first election at 16 (The legal age to vote in KV) when she was able to cast her ballot for her City Mayor, and Regional Governor. At age 17 she was able to cast her first Ballot for a King or Queen when the Traditional Monarchy was abolished and the election process was introduced. Morioka married at 18 to her high-school sweetheart Kouji Morioka and planned to settle down and farm. However when the Great Flood of '04 struck, she wanted to help her fellow farmers by making sure they could get the benefits they needed to rebuild and start over, when the waters receded. She Joined Congress at 19 and has been sitting for the last 2 1/2 years before seeking the Office of the Queen.

Plans with her Administration:

There are a number of issues to work out and get settled as she takes office. First the issue of the newly introduced
Social Welfare Program-The program was introduced and defeated several times before finally be passed last year. Morioka supports the Program and want's to encourage Businesses to engage in the program as well by offering deep tax write-offs.

Non-Kitsune Rights After the controversial Tax Break for Non-Kistune residence was defeated (Morioka supported the Bill) a huge question of the rights of non-sentient species has come up. KV legislation hasn't made tremendous efforts to change the defacto discrimination against humans, and Morioka want's to change it.

Environment- As a girl from the country, she's dedicated to environmental preservation. She's widely encouraged crop rotation and soil preservation, and has fought against chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Morioka will be inaugurated on Friday

Letting people that young run a country? How ludicrous!

Her record claims she was 19 when she was elected into Congress... physically, that doesn't even qualify as an adult. And by 22, she's a queen? In many cases, even that does not physically qualify someone as an adult. And maturity issues, those would be a horrid event!

You seam to be implying, that simply for the reason, that this woman, is not an adult, that she is not capable of leading her nation. That, is blatant ageism. Such ageism, only servers to show how ignorant you, and, most likely, the people of your nation, are. While we do find it odd, that a Queen, is being elected, that is not of our concern. As to Ms. Morioka, we apologize, for the Fascist Federation's ignorant, comments, and wish that your reign be long, and prosperous.

Your 22 year-old farmer Queen won your nation's elections? Something's definitely wrong here...

"Ageism"? Is this some sort of new card someone can pull, next to the racist card? ("All because I'm 22, man!")

Age and mental ability are NOT something disputed, like race or gender. Age has a direct effect upon mental ability. You know, things like maturity? It's kind of why a three year old isn't as smart as say, a 53 year old. The brain takes time to develop.

We have heard of the election that has happened in your nation. Even though we do find it strange, we find it also a unique thing for your nation. Do not feel that being the youngest is the most troubling thing that can happen to anyone. Lynion has had a pair of 19 year olds ran Lynion in the late 1940's and they were very successful with their job.

It figures in this new world order that a child would become Queen. Hopefully, she wasn't in some "girls gone wild" video last year.
If we are lucky, we will learn she has held a job, paid taxes and learned through her many years that wisdom takes time, something she doesn't have.

To the Grand World Order,

We are note disputing that. However, saying, that because some one is 21, they are unfit to rule, as they are too young, is ageism. It is discrimination, based solely on age. Mental development can vary. Some develop faster than others. Your statement, was not based on mental development, or anything else, it was based simply on the fact of her age. That is ageism.

We agree with the Beatus's statements. Our president was 11 when he was elected, yet he led wisely from the point he was elected onwards to this day.

The Kingdom of Bardar laugh of such lunacy, a queen who has been elected. The Kingdom is aware that some foreign cultures are insane, but this really takes the price. All civilized nations know monarchs inherit their strength and wisdom from their ancestors, and therefor a throne must be hereditary.

The name of the Head of State and Government is irrelevant to the true type of government that is used. For example, they might as well call the Queen a Dictator or a President or Prime Minister. See the many "Democracies" that in reality, oppress it's citizens. See the many "Presidents" that are not elected.

We are in no position to debate this, as our leaders are chosen in Air soft tornaments, and political parties are usually bands of teenages, who want to rule a country for 1-4 years, but mostly fail to realise, the fat overweight politicions are dead accurate shots.

Good luck, and may the Luck be with you.

OOC; we are not discussing presidents here, but queens. It's a big difference.

(wow so many responses!)

To All Whom It May Concern:

The Elective Monarchy appreciates any compliments payed forward to our new Queen-Elected, and we hope we can all have a good healthy relationship.

To those that criticized, we're sorry you don't feel the same way Kitsuneville does about energizing the youth to get involved in their community. That is why the age of suffrage is 16, and that is why the minimal age to run for public office is 19. This is nothing new, many countries practice such methods, and many traditional Monarchs have young Royal heirs that take the throne.

Truly,
Eriko Morioka
