Captain Karl Jones stood in the bows of RBS Atlas, a Argonaugh class cruiser, looking out at the Sea. Stars reflected in the sea like Diamonds. He ran his hands along the metal on either side of him till they met to form the forward point of his cruiser. Karl liked the sea best at night. All was quiet, all was calm all was so much simpler. Carl turned and walked back along the walkway back towards the inner ship.

Commander Hannah Berkovic walked to the top of her ship, admiring the F-16 pilots doing their excellent take offs and test flights over the deep blue sea, something which she hads loved doing back in the late 90s and early 00s, before being promoted to commander of the Moonshine, the best aircraft carrier in the whole Elijah Islander Navy.

Her attention turned towards the west, where a much larger ship sailed slowly. At first glance, she could instantly tell it was Western, much like the American and British ships she had studied back at Navy school.

She soon was staring at the ship, eyes peeled only on it. She knew that Elijah Islander merchent vessels might be coming this way soon.

Was this ship out for them?

"They're changing direction," noted Hannah. "Not very Western then."

"How, Commander?" asked the young pilot she was standing beside.

"Western powers never surrender," began Hannah, not very pro-West. "It's why the bastards won Dubya Dubya Two. And why we had the fuckin' Cold War."

"Not really," argued the pilot. "The Cold War was the USSR starting a massive-"

"Is that the shit they teach in state-run schools?"

Just as Hannah breathed 'schools', a squadron of F-16s screeched up the runway, and in a few instants flying comfortbly through the air, towards the fleeing ship. Western ships didn't move, according to Elijah Islander Navy gospel. And there was MVs coming by.

Somewhere in ther southern Atlantic.

Squadron Radio Delta had been informed that this mini-mission was all about misleading the enemy. Thus, whenever reaching the ship, they flew straight over it, towards the MVs which were sailing nearby. Lovely cover. It looked like they were just making sure the MVs were doing all right, after their voyage to Ireland. Bringing back some timber and even, for some reason, Guinness.

"MVs alright," confirmed Captain Fahimi Bin Fahim, the leader of Radio Delta.

He started flying back towards the unknown vessel, or the Moonshine.

"The Bloody cheek" Karl muttered as they flew over again.
"What do they think we're doing?" The XO wondered "Going after their merchant vessels?"
"Maybe we should, for a bit of fun?"
"Oh yea right, that'll go down reall with command"
"At least bring the weapons to fireing status sir?"
"Very well, TACTICAL ALERT"

((OOC: Is the ROTB some seriously unstable colony of Britain? What sort of state would attack a fellow nation's merchent ships, despite all the non-neutral allies it has, despite it's compulsory military, thriving economy, huge amounts of resources and the defence budget?

It's a bit like attacking New Zealand. They can't do much, but they're allies can.

I'll post IC tomorrow, got to go. Night.))

Hannah shook her head, and ordered the F-16s to continue their taunting. They did a massive amount of tricks and the like, likely angrying the unknown ship's commanders.

"Come back down."

The F-16s started making their way back towards their ship, when suddenly a shot fired at Cappy's fighter.

"Shit!" screamed one of the younger pilots, just before he threw his plane in front of the Captain's, killing him instantly but saving the Captain.

"I told you to target them" Karl excalimed "Not blast them out of the sky"
"Whoops"
"GET OFF MY BRIDGE, THIS IS SOO NOT GOING TO LOOK GOOD" Karl shouted
The tactical officer was dragged off the Bridge
"Keep trying to hail them, but take us to Red Alert"

In the midst of all the action, a strange thing would be spotted. A massive ship, twice as long as a normal carrier and with a small fleet in it's vicinity came around an island chain.

Six aircraft were launched and two began to fly over watch of the carrier, while three climbed and backed towards the impromptu battle. Meanwhile, the carrier attempted to raise both sides.

This is the Crimmond Sailing Ship Mammoth, Fleet Admiral John Chapman commanding. Would someone mind telling whose war we just stumbled into?

The Mammoth was an international joke. A ship made of a pykecrete like substance, it was almost literally an iceberg with a modern carrier deck sitting on top of it. And engines too. The Crimm Navy was well aware the ship was a mistake, but they were far too proud to admit as such and sent it on long patrols to keep it away from port as much as possible. Thankfully, it was a one of a kind vessel.

The fighters continued their banking climb, coming around on both sides. They split soon after, with two flying towards each nation's aircraft even as the megacarrier was approaching. And readying more aircraft, by the looks of it.
