Cloverford had been nothing more than an insignificant patch of land blessed with a near Edenic quality of natural beauty that no one could care much about until it came to pass that a young woman by the name of Zelda Plantagenet took control of the land when her father's death propelled her into his position by merit of merely being born as his only child. While most women who married the leaders of the land were the mothers of many children, it had been ordained that Zelda's mother couldn't get pregnant again after her birth but that did not tarnish her marriage to Zelda's father at all. What love and affection they reserved for other children would be put upon Zelda. She grew up in a home with much love and care and, despite the wealth and luxuries, she had been told never to look upon lesser classes as inferior but rather as merely ungifted with those things she took for granted.

On the day of his death, Zelda's father signed over his powers to his beloved child before his life ended with his corpse being sent away to a small chapel where it was laid to rest amidst the lamentations of an aging consort and that one child who was always hailed as the icon of their hopes. That, though, was about a year or so ago when Cloverford was slowly inching its way towards international recognition. Zelda's father wanted Cloverford to know all about the world and vice versa. He loathed the unintended isolationism that was in place over his nation. He wanted it all to change.

Zelda's first year as the Reigning Princess went along quite well with only some problems arising out of the policies she enacted but those problems were, at best, temporary squabbles. On a day that she spent walking her German shepherd around the hillside castle where she lived, she had recieved a message from Amelie Poulain who had been her confidante. Amelie and Zelda had known each other since childhood and the deep emotional attachment they shared had been well maintained as they aged. While the 27 year old Zelda had never married, Amelie had married at the age of 25 to a young officer in the Cloverford Defense Forces and had two children. Two years ago did that marvelous event happen. The message Amelie sent to Zelda was that the foreign minister of Cloverford, Sir Damien Aghion, had written up a blunt message to the nations of the world in search of diplomatic relations. The message was a simple one, merely that Cloverford came into the world and that it requested nothing short of recognition of its independence along with the creations of friendships. Zelda knew Aghion well. A middle aged man with a reputation for being quite blunt towards others, Aghion was an icon of the emerging nationalist movement which believed Cloverford ought to be treated like an equal in the world and that, indeed, its people were to be treated like equals among the ranks of the world's peoples. Aghion was an icon in that he supported the tenets of the movement with all his heart and that he would publically say so whenever he felt like it. Zelda did not mind the nationalist influence in the court. If anything, such influence bolstered the patriotic spirit she sought to cultivate among her various ministers and those under them. The message Aghion wrote was soon sent out to the nations of the world while Zelda went into her private study to relax while Amelie spent the day with her husband and while the citizens did their own things whatever they may have been.

OOC: If you are reading this post, dear reader, and wish to open relations with Cloverford then please assume you've recieved the message; a transcript be not needed since you ought to know it merely is nothing more than the standard formula. Just post that you want relations, what sort you want, and I'll carry on from there. Geographically, this nation is like Singapore but politically it would look more like nations such as Luxembourg and Lichtenstein; I'm not certain if I want democratic elements though.
