President Klein was engrossed in a certain story in the newspaper he was reading as the plane landed on the runway. He placed the paper on the simple table in front of him and looked through the small, circular window. Outside was Avavi, capital of the Elijah Islands. The heat was, he was informed, bound to be sweltering. Taking a sip from a flask he took his sunglasses out of his case and pushed them onto his face. They made him look somewhat undignified, but he did not mind. Klein was famous for being a relaxed and easy-going man and he was not really bothered what other people thought of him.
This conference could be important. He wanted to secure an alliance and trade deals between the two nations, so as to strengthen Parilisa’s international relations. The Elijah Islands were smaller than Parilisa by far, and he wanted to provide support for them as they inevitably grew.
“Mr Klein,” said the stewardess. “We’re here.”
He took another sip of cooling water as the door in front of him was opened and he stepped out into a country he had never visited before.

Outside, Ami Hasson stood awaiting the President. He was a tall man, six foot seven inches, with dark brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a suit, but the jacket was off, as living in the City of Sun required.
Beside him, two heavily armed guards stood. Clearly, the little coup d'etat in Abraham Isle had made seven colours of shit come out of the government, meaning Kalashnikovs were back on the list of 'Equipment Required for Protection of Government Officals'.
As Klein walked down the metal stairway, Hasson greeted him.
"Hello, Mister President," smiled Ami, offering a handshake. "Welcome to the Elijah Islands."
Behind Ami, a limo stood awaiting.
((OOC: Can we skip the inside the limo part and go straight to the meeting? Of course, Klein still greets Hasson.))

OOC: Sure, theres no need for it anyway.
Klein shook Hasson's hand.
"Greetings, Prime Minister." he said. His handshake was firm. "I trust you will forgive my somewhat scruffy appearance, but I would rather look like a fool in sunglasses than burn my eyes out with your beautiful sun."
He chuckled slightly.
"It is nice to be in a warm country for a change. I'm used to our chillier northenr climates."
OOC: I am right to presume that the Elijah Islands are warm arent I?

Hasson sat down in his oak chair, the sun shining in from the windows which overlooked Avavi, City of Sun. The walls were a creamish colour, with pictures adoring them. Several bookshelves called the room home, along other novelites such as the glass coffee table and the two plush leather chairs beside it. On his desk, a nameplate with 'Ami Hasson' engraved on it rested, along with a very small flag of the Elijahs.
"I hope you like my office," remarked Ami, with a engaging smile. "I know I do."
"Well, first I'll start off with the natural resources of the Elijahs," began Ami, sipping on a glass of water. "We have large supplies of oil, gold, silver, copper, phosphates, bromide, potash, clay, sand, sulfur, asphalt, and manganese. We also have supplies in natural gas."
"I believe that our nations should make any deals done today a free trade deal," requested Ami. "The Elijahs are strong believers in free trade."
((OOC: Yep, you are right.))

“Free Trade is favoured in Parilisa also, so that would be a most satisfactory arrangement.” Said Klein, taking a seat. “Our trade is mostly in natural resources such as coal, wood and recently discovered oil. The Ministry of Medicine has also opened a medical storefront which is expanding all the time, but we can discus that later. Parilisan industry would greatly benefit from all the resources you have to offer.”

29-11-2008, 21:09
"And the Elijahs industry would benefit from Parilisan resources as well," observed Ami. "There has been a slight shortage of timber in the Elijahs, and Parilisan wood would destroy any shortages."
"As for coal, that may be useful," began Ami. "We have very small amounts of coal in our nation, and we would greatly need some Parilisan coal to help end these shortages."
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 21:12
"Well then, I gaurentee you trade with our biggest resource trading companies. The minor details can be arranged later. In the mean time I would like to inquire about your other industrys. Perhaps you can trade in arms or equipment of other sorts?" smiled Klein.
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 21:18
"Well, we do not prouduce much military equipment," explained Ami. "Most of our military equipment comes from Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States, with a medium amount from Russia."
"However, we prouduce many other manmade equipment, like plastics, glass and steel," nodded Ami.
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 21:23
“Ahh! Steel!” said Klein. “We’ve been looking for a reliable source of that for a long time. We need it for our buildings and industrial works and we are suffering a shortage of sorts. If you can ensure us a constant steel trade then the Parilisan Government will pay you well. We can certainly provide you with medicines, as I mentioned before, and money in return. Glass and plastic are not as important, but nevertheless I am willing to open free trade for all resources.”

29-11-2008, 21:40
"I agree, and so does the Elijahs," nodded Ami. "The minor details can ben sorted soon. Of course, we feel that we in exchange for the steel, we would request shipments of coal."
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 21:50
“Then we are agreed.” Said Klein. “I think now would also be an appropriate time to discus arrangements in relation to the military. We have agreed to sign a non-aggression pact with you and we are willing to discus the terms and conditions of an alliance.”
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 21:52
"What would you have in mind for this alliance?" asked Ami curiously. "I would like to hear my ally's views before my own."
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 22:01
"A treat of terms whereby we would take military action to defenct each other's nation seems like a suitanle arangement. I would also like to hear your opinions of course."
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 22:14
"I would consider such, but only if our nation is the defender in such a case," played Ami. "I also believe such an alliance should be economic, political and defensive. Maybe the Democratic Party, which I am leader, could be a partner of the Parilisan mainstream modern liberal party?"
"We could also make, as a sign of friendship, our cities twins. Avavi could be the twin of the Parilisa capital, if you see what I mean."

"I am head of the Parilisan Liberal Democrat Party, and have been since its foundation. An alliance between our parties would certainly be a good thing."
"We could also make, as a sign of friendship, our cities twins. Avavi could be the twin of the Parilisa capital, if you see what I mean."
"Parilisa's capital is called Prezdorf and that sounds like a good idea. I would have to discus it with the City Chambers however. The Parilisan state gives large ammounts of power to the smaller administrative localities. I would have to present them information about Avavi. What is it like?"
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 22:28
"A partnership between the Elijah Islander Democratic Party and the Parilisan Liberal Democrat Party is something I will welcome," smiled Ami.
"Avavi is a large, peaceful city," began Ami. "It is one of the modern cities in the Middle-East and the Mediterranean, as our nation spans two subcontinents. It is generally sunny, with the southern part of the city marked by it's long, sandy white beaches."
"It is home to the Elijah Islander Parliament, Armed Forces, Police, Stock Exchanges and so on," explained Ami. "It is also the nation's Capital of Culture, and is extremely rich, if you can call a city rich."
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 22:31
"Well then, that is good. If you had told me it was some corrupt cess-pool of malnutrition and deformed babies i dont think the Chambers would even consider the deal." Klein chuckled.
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 22:34
"Yes, I don't think they would have!" laughed Ami. "Anyway, I think doing such would send a message to the world; the Elijahs and Parilisa are major allies."
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 22:40
"Indeed." said Klein, nodding. "Such a message can only be a good thing. You are, as yet, a relitvely small nation with a low population, and unti that grows you are under threat from the large nations of this world. Alliances will protect you."
"Perhaps there is some other way in which we may tie our nations together?"
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 22:44
"Well, the Elijahs prefers politics, economic and social ties with nations, rather than military ties," explained Ami. "Anyways, what do you have in mind?"
Parilisa
29-11-2008, 22:51
"Perhaps you could send some of your scientists or whatever to study at the University of Prezdorf. In return we shall send a team of Parilisan scientists to study here in Elijah. We could learn a lot about each other's cultures that way. In addition to this we could hold friendly football matches between our national teams. A bit of friendly rivalry isn't a bad thing!"
Elijah Islands
29-11-2008, 23:09
"That would be brilliant," grinned Ami. "I would particularly enjoy a few football matches. The Elijah Islands are a moderately good team, and I'm sure taking on Parilisa would be welcome to them!"
((OOC: Do you want to roleplay the matches, by any chance?))

"Very well then. It would be a fabulous oppurtnity for our team to practice, they are getting somewhat rusty."
Klein looked at of the window for a moment. He controlled the thouhts that whirled around his head and concentrated upon the task at hand.
"Tell me, how is the situation with the Islamic extremists? Is it stable now?"
Elijah Islands
30-11-2008, 15:49
"No," grimaced Ami. "It is worsening."
"The Abraham Isle has declared independence and claims to be an Islamic State," explained Ami. "Obviously, they are not strong enough to organize any proper attacks, and we are organizing a mechanized force to reclaim the isle."
"Minus the Abraham Isle and the Aeroplane Hijacking situations, all is well."
