Climate: The Climate is cool and temperate. During the summer it gets to about 27˚C on average and during the winter stays around 5˚C. Often dropping below zero with the possibility of snow.



Economy

The main industries of Whiskeasy was historically farming, trading, mining, fishing and the making of fine Scotch malts. It now includes Manufacturing of commodities, tourism, car manufacture, as well as those previously stated, though Farming has suffered a little in the Industrial Boom. The Whiskesian economy brings in hundreds of billions of poonds in a fiscal year and the government takes a healthy cut to pay for the up keep of the country. The unemployment rate is 4.36% (8/12/08) and there is the dole for those who cannot find work. Although there is a trade deficit the country has several huge docks which ship's and receives millions of tonnes of shipping each month. The trade lanes bring in a profit. Although only a little oil is gathered in Whiskeasy, it is a global refiner of crude oil. Turning it into petrol and other goods.

Energy
Whiskeasy runs on a very mixed form of power supply. Coal is the primary which is mined from the hills and imported(37%). Then Natural Gas (23%) and then Nuclear Power (20%). There are 21 Nuclear power stations in Whiskeasy under the control of the National Nuclear Commision (NNC). The rest is done by other means such as hydroelectric and tidal (20%).

There is a large demand for oil and petrol some is collected from the two oil rigs just of shore however the bulk of it has to be imported. Some of it brought over land but the bulk brought in by Tankers to one of the main ports.

Army

The Whiskeasian Royal Army is the primary land force the Commonwealth of Whiskeasy. They rely on better trained and supplied troops rather than the horde technique. A large sum of money is spent individually on each soldier to make sure they are best prepared, trained and equipped for most combat situations that presents itself. The Army's primary shock troops and Airborne division are the Paratroop Regiments. They act as a driving infantry and airborne assault force, considered to be one of the toughest regular branches of the military.

Equipment
The Primary Armament for all Whiskeasian Army personnel is the K29 Assault Rifle (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14283118&postcount=1). Bought from Stalwart Arms in December 2008 the Rifle is considered one of the best around. Paratroopers and Tank Commanders are issued the Carbine variant. As are Special Forces, certain officers also use it though are encouraged to carry the full rifle. The AVIR III rifle (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14373489&postcount=1) has been brought in to supplement the K29, it is a very similar rifle deemed by many to be superior even of the already highly respected K29.
The standard issue sidearm for all soldiers is the L105A1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIG_P226). However other pistols are in use. The Whiskeasian Government is looking to replace this sidearm in the near future with something more modern. The standard issue SMG is the Heckler & Koch MP5 (L92A1) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_MP5). The standard squad support weapon is the ADEC Light Machinegun (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13631383&postcount=1). This was bought from Armacorp in January 2009 to replace the Minimi.
The Heavy Machine Gun currently in use is the Rheinmetall MG3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheinmetall_MG3). Also the M2 Browning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Browning). The anti-tank weapon in use is the Javelin Anti-tank portable missile system. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FGM-148_Javelin) The disposable anti tank system is the MBT LAW disposable anti-armour missile system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MBT_LAW). The current portable surface to air missile system for the Whiskeasian Army is the Starstreak Missile System (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starstreak_missile).

The standard IFV is either the Warrior Fighting Vehicle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrior_Tracked_Armoured_Vehicles) or the Lyras made LY219 Ironheart Armoured Multirole Tactical Vehicle
(http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=533583&postcount=1). This has been recently acquired from Lyran Arms Corporation and is yet to see combat service.

The Main Battle Tank is either the Challenger II Battle Tank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenger_II) or the Lyran made LY4A1 Wolfhound MBT (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13416164#post13416164). Medium Tanks in service include the LY7 Rottweiler Medium Tank (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=557163).

Two "Ironheart" Divisions were acquired from Lyran Arms Corporation and are currently being used by shock troops such as the Parachute Division and Royal Marine Divisions.

The Helicopters Currently used in the Army Air Corps are the Westland WAH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westland_WAH-64_Apache), the Boeing Chinook in varying models (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_Chinook_(UK_variants)) and other types of helicopters for more specific tasks and missions.

Royal Whiskeasian Air Force

The RWAF is currently the main force for air support and air superioity in the Military. However both the Army and Navy maintain their own Air Corps.

History

Early

At around 300 BC early Whiskeasians were not a unified kingdom as the are now, rather they were a collection of squabbling tribes vying for power over the lands of Whiskeasy. The three main tribe were the Bricans, the Irouviums and the Whiskenites. Of course decades of squabbling and open war changed how the tribes reacted to one another but in about the 56AD the Whiskenites landed a definite blow onto their greatest rivals, the Bricans. They merged as one faction through the marriage of the Whiskenites Chief with the previous Bricans Chief's daughter. As the two tribes now became one the act of unity brought the tribe of the Irouvians to their knees, dragged to the negotiation table they became the vassals of the new superpower. This would come on to become the Kingdom we know today, the Queen herself is a direct descendant from these warring tribes.
