2250 AD
The Dominion of Hu Tian Di on earth had ceased to exist. Its final desperate move for survival rested on one ship, the 救星[jiu xing], the Saving Star, the Savour. It was a sleeper ship, people were held on board in suspended animation and the ship was sent out to the cosmos.
The ship was soon lost from any record; it had malfunctioned unable to reach its intended target. It now travelled through space looking for a colonisable planet to travel to.

[System of Hu Tian Di]

The ship ended up in a system on the outer edge of the galaxy. It was a remote system, but it was rich, better than the intended target. It had taken two thousand years to get this far. Now the ship, pockmarked with impacts from dust and micrometeoroids travelled to the one habitable planet in the system. The ship landed on the surface of the planet. There were only 100 beings on the ship, but there were millions of eggs and sperm cells along with artificial wombs. The colony would start and it would grow. Knowledge of the original location of HuTianDi/earth was lost, but the history and knowledge contained in the computers still remained and they would further the growth of the colony.

[two thousand years later AC 2008, c. AD 6000]
(I don’t honestly care about the dates; they don’t matter much in FT anyway)

Rapid growth and expansion occurred over the years. The use of nanobots and other technologies sped up the spread of civilization transforming much of the planet into a city. There were no laws for birth control as there had been and there was now a population of 12 billion on the planet alone, with a growth rate unhindered by the lack of medicine, food, or water. The rapid increase in people quickly forced the formation of a space program and there are now several O’Neil Class Colonies at the Lagrange points of the planet and system. This expansion in technologies also increased interest in space faring vessels, and there are now a good number of vessels, military and civilian in the system. All this corresponded with a rise in technology of all sorts.

The inner system is populated from the double asteroid belts to the three inner planetary bodies. Outside of that there are Four gas giants, all with outposts that produce hydrogen for use in fusion reactors back home. The system was heavily developed and defended. Immune from those fools that decided to try and form pirate groups. Military vessels patrolled all major trade lanes. The knowledge that time was not on their side, the people had invested heavily into the military and hopefully it would be enough should any race, human or otherwise Find them.

Still the people were human. As such they had a natural thirst for the unknown and A FTL Engine was developed. With this the First interstellar Fleet was created. It was a Military fleet, intent on first establishing a minor outpost in a nearby system before colonists came. There were numerous types of ships. There were large carriers and battleships, bulky in their appearance and riddled with weapons and armour. There were also smaller ships, powerful in their own right and numerous in quantity. Soon the ships entered subspace where they would soon arrive in system.

(OOC: I have Shields, Mass Drivers, Missiles, Nanobots, Lasers, and various other weapons… nothing too powerful like a turbolaser... I also dont really care what happens to me, I could get conquered.. just make it somewhat fair if you want to attempt that)

I'm interested in doing some kind of war RP, it's been a long time since I have, but I'm not sure what nation would be most appropriate. I've a few options that spring to mind...

Benevolent main nation only really likely to attack you if HuTianDi attacked it first, or was oppressing its people.
Order-obsessed transcendant beings who are extremely isolationist, but might do something for many reasons. Especially if you're anarchistic socially.
Religious zealots of false gods. Individually terribly ineffective at warfare, but well motivated. Probably the most developed background aside from the main nation.
Religious zealots of more convincing false gods. Rare in numbers, but what they do have is very potent [as a bonus, this nation has almost nothing done with it. Though like most of these, it's a rip-off of a faction in a popular sci-fi franchise]
A couple (literally) of criminals from a particularly super-tech nation, with a mercenary force of some flavour. Full on supervillains, though I'd play them straight...

The last couple would just invade because they want to conquer. The former two are more interesting, but would need some kind of reason for aggression.

[it doesn't really matter... like I said I dont care how it turns out... just let it develop as it will... that being said I need at least someone in the system Im going to]
Greywatch

OOC: Good enough?

A Greywatch Explorer sat quietly above a new found world. A desolate one to say the very least, no signs of life whatsoever. It was perfect for what Greywatch had in mind, and the best part was that the system was unmarked and unclaimed. Exploration teams were already looking over the unremarkable, sandy surface of the world. A massive desert, no water, little oxygen. This planet would be marked shortly enough, and then the real work could begin. "Sir," came the voice of the tactical officer, "We have posible contacts. Orders?" The captain looked back at the man and nodded, "Raise shields and bring weapons to 30%. When they get closer, hail them."

The map projected above Galaxian Plaza on the C’tan world of Duat was, if not the most accurate, one of the most. Below it, a reflecting ring of dully reflecting black ice provided more traditional entertainment, at ground level, the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies, the most prominent of the very close orbiting dwarfs, was projected at about the level of humans. Around the edge of the massive map, high above the low ice rink, rings of monitor stations allowed one to call up the details of any of the hundreds of billions of stars represented.

It had been a major project of the C’tan state to map every star in the galaxy for a long time, and after a fashion, ignoring the countless hostile states that shot such probes down, the occasional freak meteor collision and similar things, it was complete. Of course, the blind spots managed to encompass billions upon billions of systems, it was easy enough to miss foot wide probes, but the kilometer long ships that delivered them were rather difficult to ignore. Complete enough, anyway. Hundreds of billions of probes, each less than a meter, fed data about the assigned star systems to the massive communications world of Xolotl.

The probes were harmless, ‘cultural survey’ probes. Their task was to record the growth and expansion of cultures in the galaxy.

Each spark of light on the sprawling display that represented a claimed system was subtly shaded and labeled – tiny lettering that couldn’t be seen with un-augmented eyesight, but nonetheless covered parsecs with each letter.

The colony of Hu Tian Di had thus been labeled as such since its first establishment.

Now, it was amended with two new names, one indicating an interest from Hu Tian Di, and another an explorer ship from a more distant culture. That would flag the system for analysis by an AI, even now.

(OOC: Random selection says it’s the main nation, so… For now, I’ll let Greywatch handle it, as he’s in the system. The C’tan will become involved later)

"Sir, probe alpha 220.12 is reporting a possible contact with another sentient race in the beta quadrant.
It has reported that they have advanced enough to have ftl drives and several major space colonies."
"Why haven't we seen them before?"
"It seems that their ftl has just recently been deployed and that quadrant was not known for its sentients or anything much for that matter."
"Do we have any ships in the area?"
"Yes the Esus is 5 jumps away from the main planet"
"Contact it and tell it to try and establish relations with that planet"
Bxero scratched a scale on his shoulder, "another contact, hope they're friendly than the last bunch"

The Erus
The Erus had received the message 5 days ago and had now just reached the edge of the system. When it started to release several more advanced scientific probes into the system and started to beam a message in galactic basic onto the only habituated planet.
