Subject: Greetings from Syresia.

Dear sir/ma'am,

Syresia greets your nation with a hope for the future. We are a former British colony, like many other nations, though we gained independence in 1923, after a deal with the British government. We are quite large exporters of, among others, copper, diamond, iron, wine and wheat, and thanks to this our economy is starting to rise up, slowly but surely.

Syresia is located in Oceanica, near Australia and New Zealand, also former British colonies. Our climate is much like Britain's, with rain being a regular occurance in our nation's beautiful green forests which rival that of Ireland. We also generate a large revenue from tourism, thanks to great interest in the Anicent Syresians, who's civilisation was started in 900BC and was destroyed by natural disasters in 156AD.

Our military, the Syresian Armed Forces, is quite small, just 10,750 servicemen and servicewomen. Our special forces branch, the Syresian Rangers, are best known by their motto: 'We are real'. They are quite a deadly force. We would like to join a defensive organization to help protect our country from foreign invaders, and to protect other nations.

I hope today is the beginning of a new dawn in Sryesian history.

President Patrick Ryan.

((OOC: Aye. I often complained, as roleplaying as a member of the Police Service Northern Ireland Special Branch during a staff meeting isn't exactly the best thing in the world. The UK player turned Northern Ireland into a warzone, while the Republic stood as a shining beacon of hope and joy, part of the European Federation...))

Dear sir,

Sryesia thanks Falkasia and her people for her kind message. Contary to popular belief, we are actually a much developed country, members of the Commonwealth of Nations, trade partners with 95% of all Commonwealth member states, member of several trade organizations and great allies with Australia, Britain and New Zealand.

Still, we are glad for your message and are confident of a future for Falkasian/Sryesian relations.

Prime Minister James Brown.

((OOC: Bit of a mouthful, but this thread was mainly to get all nations to take notice of Sryesia before embassy openings. ICly, it was mainly to check 'who's likely to be an ally' and 'who's likely to be an enemy'.
