Open Tender MoD/20081126/0001: Firearms System For the Falastine Defence Forces

Due many high-profile scandals rocking the Ministry of Defence recently and reports of minsters receiving kickbacks from military contractors, the Falastine Federation has introduced a new protocol of securing deals with military contractors through an open tender, in which many contractors can bid and the one which provides the most attractive package for the lowest price will be able to secure the contract.

In this tender, the MoD is seeking to arm the troops of the Falastine Defence Forces. The contracts for the system are issued individually (any contractor can bid for any/more than one of these 6 contracts) as follows:

1. Assault Rifle

Requirements:
- The rifle must be a variation of the Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle: in the carbine (G36K) and CQB(G36C) version, both weighing less than 3kg.
- Fire modes of the rifle will be as follows: Safe, Semi-Auto, Full-Auto
- The rifle must have iron sights with an accessory rail so that the Trijicon Reflex/ACOG sights, which have been adopted by the FDF, can be used as well.
- The rifle must be modified accordingly to ensure optimum reliability in sand/desert conditions. A sand test, which involves firing 500 rounds with no stoppages after being buried in sand, will be conducted. A 10,000 round torture test will also be conducted. To pass, the rifles must encounter less than 300 stoppages, with no major damage (ie. cracking of receiver/warping of barrel) whatsoever to the weapon.
- Accuracy of the rifle must be below 2 MOA at 100 metres when shot using iron sights.
- The rifle must be able to adopt the M203 underbarrel grenade launcher with an appropriate sighting system.
- An initial 10,000 units will be purchased, subsequent units will be produced by Tazzaq Heavy Industries under license purchased from the contractor.

2. Machine Guns
- The FDF wishes to procure substantial units of the FN M249 Squad Automatic Weapon(infantry), the FN MAG(tank/helicopter/IFV/APC/vessel mounted) and and the Heckler & Koch GMG Automatic Grenade Launcher at the lowest cost possible.

3. Designated Marksmen Rifle
- The rifle must be based on the Dragunov Sniper Rifle, to be issued at rifle team level.
- The rifle must be chambered in 7.62 x 51 mm NATO.
- The rifle will differ from the Dragunov as follows:
# Heavier match-grade barrel of shorter length
# One stage match trigger with pull less than 2.5 kg
# Free-floating handguards with integral bipod at the front end
# Absence of bayonet lug
# Accessory rail on top of receiver to accomodate scopes
# Accuracy of at least 1 MOA or lower with match grade ammo.
- The rifle must be lighter than 5.5 kg
- Rifle must pass sand and 10,000 round torture test.
- An initial 5,000 units will be purchased, subsequent units will be produced by Tazzaq Heavy Industries under license purchased from the contractor.

4. Sniper Rifle
- The FDF wishes to procure the SAKO TRG-42 chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum at the lower possible cost.

5. Sidearm
- The FDF wishes to procure substantial units of the CZ-75 Compact pistol chambered in 9mm at the lowest possible cost.

6. Personal Defence Weapon
- The FDF wishes to procure substantial units of the Heckler & Koch MP7 at the lowest possible cost.

ISA is right. If it's RL guns that you want, you don't even have to buy them from anyone else. You can just say that you bought them from the makers.

If you are willing to wait, you could purchase my LAAR-5 assault rifle from LAIX Arms. The gun is based on the HK G41. http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=4956

Your assault rifle less than 3 kg? Yet essentially a G-36?
Good luck with that, as the G-36 wieghs almost 4 Kg when loaded, more when accessories are added, such as the standard Bundeswehr scope and double-clipped magazines.

For the DMR, why must it be MORE reliable than your rank and file guns when the barrels won't even last that long?*
As for every other aspect of the DMR, an M14/M21 /w/ ART II scope would better suite you for every one of your additional requirements.

Legitimacy of a torture test should only be considered as legit as the group doing it.
Since the Dragonskin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Skin_(body_armor)#Testing), Thompson-LaGarde (http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/history/background.htm) Armalite (http://www.jouster.com/articles30m1/index.html), and M9 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_Service_Small_Arms_Program) fiascoes seems to prove that such tests can and usually are borked beyond all recognition.
"Spiw!" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Purpose_Individual_Weapon)

The MOA accuracy of a gun is not measured based on what sights are used, but on dispersion when fired from a solid benchrest+cradle. True accuracy depends on shooter and gun working together.
Again, these resaults can be borked.

And when "making" the RL designs with your country's workforce, you get what you pay for. So cheap gun means no nice accessories except the ones required. That or massive defects.
