GSRN Reporter: We're getting reports of a situation going on at the harborfront. Apparently, we have several unmarked container ships refusing to identify themselves.

Several CVPD cruisers were parked at the docks, with police officers taking watch at the container ships. As the Novistranian Army major gave the command to attack, an Mi-35 Hind rose from one of the container ships and opened cannon fire on the CVPD cars, who backed away in reverse trying to get away frantically.

CVPD Sgt. Nikolai Tikhonov radioed dispatch. "11-99, 11-99 emergency! They have gunships, I repeat, gunships! We need help immediately! Gibberish America is under attack!"

A BTR-80 rolled through the sea wall and ran over several parked civilian cars as the Mi-35 landed a squad of Novistranian Army troops. The major who ordered the attack, Major Yurinov, came out to look at the skies. "The vultures have come to feed and the bear has arrived. Clear the skies."

A ZSU-23-4 SPAAG was unloaded from the ship and shot at a circling new helicopter, which in turn, exploded and crashed. The city of Vostok was theirs, but taking it wouldn't be easy.

Captain Mark Bannon of the Seattle Army Depot rushed through the streets of Vostok in his M1025 HMMWV on the phone at the same time.

"This is Captain Bannon! I'm trying to reach the major... What? Who's in command then? What do you mean I am?" He crashed into a roadblock where National Guard and CVPD SWAT members were opening M4A1 and AK-103 fire at the oncoming Soviet forces as they were trying to get civilians to safety.

"Thought I'd see the last of you in Liberty City, Lt. Parker!"

"Well, you're wrong."

"Hey you two, who are you?"

"Mike Thompson and Anton Rivera, sir! Vostok National Guard! We need to get to our unit!"

"Well, grab a rifle and start fighting! We don't have much time. We have to start evacuating the city." The troops got into M2A2 Bradley transports and M1025 HMMWVs and headed off. Bannon radioed an overhead scout chopper. "Bannon to Redeye Four. I need you to go down to the harbor and gather me some intel."

"But, sir! We already lost 2 choppers down there today! It's a death sentence."

"That's a direct order."

"Yes, sir. Rolling out." The OH-6 Cayuse flew over the harbor, right over Novistranian air defenses.

"Kombat 2 to Vympel, we have an enemy helicopter our way, looks lioke a scout chopper."

"Shoot it down, now!"

The ZSU-23-4 set its sights on the OH-6 and threw AA rounds into the sky, ripping apart the fuselage of the OH-6 as it burst in flames.

"Major Yurinov, we need forces to secure the port and to advance further into the city. Your orders, sir."

"I want a company of Spetsnaz, BTRs, BMPs, and jeeps to take the Americans head on at the harbor. Then send some BMP-2s, UAS-469s, and some AA vehicles to the downtown area so we can clear out the enemy resistance. The Russian consulate is located just across the street from the sports stadium, where in both buildings, a lot of civilians and enemy soldiers have been holed up. I want the Russian soldiers killed and the civilians detained. Any questions?"

"No, tovarisch major. We'll take care of the Americans and Russians. Live mother Novistrana!"

"For, mother Novistrana, comrades!"

"Shit! We just lost our recon chopper. Parker, get your Bradleys to the harbor and gather some intel before we have to get out of this quagmire!"

"Yes, sir. Bradleys are rolling out." The M2A2 Bradleys headed out to the harbor, encountering some Novistranian jeeps and infantry who in turn opened fire. "Damn commies. Why do they even try?"

The Bradleys returned fire, tearing up the jeeps and putting down the enemy infantry.

"This is Staff Sgt. Hanson of the Vostok National Guard and we have men pinned down at the docks. They're killing us!"

"Don't worry, I'm on it, Hanson. Just stay frosty while we get you outta there." The Bradleys entered the container yard, where Hanson and his squad got in. They promptly left as Parker relayed intel to Bannon.

"Bannon... Uh... I think you should know that how the Novistranians got in... They snuck past our navy using civilian freighters. I bet there's more coming.:

"Thanks, Parker. Now we know how they got here, all we need to know is how we can get out of here."

"Lt. Parker, there's a lot of civilians taking shelter at the stadium! We have to get them out before it's too late."

"Negative, Hanson. They'll have to fend for themselves."

"But you can't just leave them to die!"

"Alright! We'll do our best to evacuate them, sergeant, but what we need to do is find a way to get in an evacuation group to help the civilians."

"Negative, Parker. There's AA batteries in the parking lot. Looks like you'll need to destroy them first. I'm sending you a HMMWV to use to help repair the stranded Bradley by the freeway underpass. Go put it to good use."

"Yes, sir." A Humvee headed over to Parker's platoon. "Readly for orders, sir."

"Good, now go fix up that Bradley. Hanson, your squad can man it, is that right?"

"Yes, sir."

"Then off you go." The Humvee crew patched up the Bradley, which Hanson's squad went in to grab the controls. They then headed out to a shopping street by the stadium.

The Stadium
"Enemy AA in sight. Opening fire."

The Bradleys opened fire on the four ZSU-23-4s along with several UAZ jeeps, ripping them to shreds with the 25mm cannon and blowing to smithereens with the TOW missiles. Army soldiers from inside the Humvee put heavy M4A1 fire into the Soviet troops on the parking lot of the stadium.

The Russian Embassy
Spetsnaz troops from the Russian Army Spetsnaz Guards Brigade were trying desperately to stave off repeated Novistranian armor attacks. The Russians already lost 3 squads. As an enemy BTR-80 came into sight, the engineer squad taking cover by the embassy entrance shot several RPGs at it, killing its driver and setting it on fire. As the Russian ambassador was being airlifted by his special CH-53, several police platoons came over in armored trucks and police cruisers to evacuate the civilians inside and the embassy staff. The Spetsnaz troops lined up and mounted machine guns onto the civilian cars on the parking lot.

In a moment, a fleet of M939 trucks arrived to the parking lot, where civilians and their belongings loaded up by the hundreds. In fact, one group had to load up in a semi trailer truck in order to get out. The group, under cover from the police and Army, was going to leave town.

"Major Yurinov! The advance is succeeding, but we are sustaining heavy casualties!"

"Make sure the Americans keep retreating. And if there are any left in the stadium, I want them destroyed."

Minutes later, a BM-22 Smerch MLRS unit combined with naval air support razes the stadium, crumbling it and leaving nothing standing.

"Shit! They just destroyed the stadium! Luckily we were there to get the civilians out of there."

"This is Colonel Sawyer. I've been given command of this regiment, and I am ordering all units in the city of Vostok to evacuate and retreat to the east. We're headed to the city of Pine Valley, about 50 miles from city limits. Head o to the U.S. 90 bridge and head east. We'll make our way through the suburbs then into the Kirkland-Tacoma area before getting out of the metro area. Understood?"

"Sir, I-"

"A simple yes would suffice, Captain Bannon. Lt. Colonel Alexandr Rykonov pf the Russian Army Spetsnaz Guards Brigade is here with us evacuating the Russian embassy and more civilians. He'll be providing support during the evacuation."

"We'll do our best, Colonel. We'll have to see to our retreat."

Il-76s flew in to drop the VDV brigades into the Vostok suburbs as Novistranian forces rolled east to pursue the USGA forces.

Civilians were leaving Downtown Vostok by the thousands. They took their valuables and baggage by any means of transportation possible: by car, by bus, even using commercial trucks! At the west end of Kuznetsov Island (equivalent of Mercer Island) suburbs, Colonel Sawyer's joint USGA-Russian battalion trailed the fleeing civilians, securing the bridgehead of the US-90 bridge heading west. The troops were able to dig in using their Humvees and Bradleys as cover. Parker, seeing the Novistranian VVDV troopers, asked Bannon, "Captain, are you seeing what I'm seeing?"

"Yes, Parker... We're being invaded..." Bannon quickly regained his senses and ordered his company of M60A3 and M1A1 Abrams tanks, "All units, stay here. We'll set up a defense over here and help Parker's forces hold off Ivan any way we can."

One of the Russian squads came to Bannon with several civilians with Colt CAR-15s and AK-47s in their hands. A Russian corporal asked him, "Tovarisch Kapitan, we found some civilians willing to stay with us and help fight off the Novistranians."

"What's your name, son?"

"Arkady Tikhonov. These are my friends: Nikolai Turdyev and Frank Kamov. We're from Kuznetsov Island High Schools and are in our senior year-"

"Get back to your families, boys. I'm sure they're worried sick about you."

"Sir, you don't understand! The Rooskies captured them, and only we managed to escape. If there was any way we could help, we'd be glad!"

"Alright. If that means you lead one of the Spetsnaz squads around here. Since you're locals, we can put ourselves at a great advantage and waste the commies."

"Thank you, sir! We'll be right on it."

Parker came over and commented, "Brave kids, huh?"

Bannon lamented, "If only I were that brave..."

The Spetsnaz dug in at the head of the bridge as the civilians were heading east. The Army evacuated the residents of the suburbs in school buses as USGA Air Force Command sent a group of F-15E Strike Eagles and A-10 Thunderbolts to provide air support for the ground units. An AWACS plane flew over East Vostok and scanned from the air, ground enemies and air units. Colonel Sawyer was on the line with Air Force Command about blowing the US 90 bridge.

"Colonel Antsyforov, this Sawyer. I'm evacuating a lot of civilians from Vostok and the Novistranians are closing in on us fast. We need a bomber to blow the US 90 bridge on Kuznetsov Island so we can get our asses out with minimal casualties, pronto!"

"Roger that, I got a B-52 on standby ready to destroy the bridge for you, over. Just tell us when to blow the bridge out of its fuckin' mind. Out."
