Pressure on ZDF in Saul Islands.
http://www.israelinsider.com/channels/security/images/sec_0054_art.jpg
Pressure is increasing on Zealander Defence Forces troops in the Saul Islands, as the increase in terrorism and a recent wave of crime starts collasping the country in nearly all areas of life.
Saul Islands, a semi-independent territory of Zealand, is generally desribed as as a 'paradise', thanks to it's beautiful landscapes and oceans making thousands of Zealander Pounds monthly from tourism. Now, it is a 'warzone' with a hundred deaths a day.
The terror groups are communist, the mainstream groups being the Islands Communist Force (ICF) and the Saul Islander Socialist Volunteers (SISV) destroying the former peaceful islands with their Bolshevik views. As a result, the ZDF have started a full scale public operation named 'Red Death' to elimanate these organizations.
Over 5,000 have died in this crisis, mostly civillans. The islands are being destroyed by this, and PM Sarah Alexander has warned that 'not taking action on this crisis may make it develop into a global one'.
"This crisis must be dealt with swiftly," said Alexander. "This is a clear threat to Zealander security and failure to deal with it may make this crisis into a global one. Full stop."
The small ZDF with just 11,250 servicemen and women have called for foreign help in this, as the problem 'grows to big for the ZDF'. The ZDF has always been small, but the recent recruitment drive's efforts have been shattered as young Zealanders choose not to join and go into the Saul Islands.
"I think I'll enter banking," said George Jackson, a young student. "I did have ambitions for the ZDF, but I don't want to get killed in the Sauls'."

The UH-20 Blackhawks soared over the calm, clear night skyline, flying over The Mountains of Peaks, one of the coldest places in Zealand itself. Despite this, it was a cesspool for the terrorists who were destroying the Saul Islands with communisme as the French called it, and the Zealander Rangers had a 'special' operations in Peaks'.
They were quite near some of the mountains, but the pilots were trying to increase their altiude as you'd expect.
Private Daniel Brady was sitting down in the death black Blackhawk. 22-year-old, he was one of the younger troops in the Rangers, and the only one in his squad from this damned country of Saul Islands.
"Right, I think we've got something down there," said Captain Alex Collins, standing just in front of the gunner. "Got ready for para-"
He collasped, blood exploding everywhere. He had been shot by a 9mm sniper's bullet. His body slipped out of the Blackhawk, falling towards the snow at a speed which would put a Zealander Motorsport Championship driver to shame.
"Shit," blurted Brady. "Shit."
The gunner had been kicked whenever Collins had fell, causing him to join Collins in his adventures. Well, that was Danny's best friend since Kindergarden gone.
"Right, we've lost-" started Colonel James Michaels, before the sound of an RPG hitting the aircraft rumbled. "-Holy motherfucking shitting Jesus."
The Blackhawk started spinning, soldiers fell out of the aircraft, screaming yet calm-
-Brady hit the wall of the UH-20, then fell out of it slowly. He fell slowly, reflecting on his life's achievments. Winner of the Commonwealth Essay Compietion-
-That was the last thing Private 2nd Class Daniel Carl Brady ever saw.

Admiral Davout stood on the Bridge of his flagship the CVN Blaise, as he looked down on the decks below he was pleased to see the first of the Recce flight aircraft were ready to launch, they were a matter off an hour away and already in range.
Satelite reports indicated the fighting was spreading and radar reports indicated the proximately of Rechburgs Ally the fleets of Rammsteinburg, it also indicated aircraft approaching Zealand from further a field.
He turned to his CAG commander
"Zeb, I want you to send some F18's over to check out those planes, flying into Zealandia, theres too many to be regular flights and the itch on my bald spot tells me they are up to no good".
Everyone on the bridge smiled to themselves when they heard the Admiral refer to the famous itch, it was suggested by some that his bald spot was more reliable than all the sensors aboard ship.
Within a matter of minutes a flight of F18's was heading for the unidentified aircraft over Zealand.

A massive force of warships sailed towards Saul Island at 25 knots. As powerful as this group was, it represented only a mere fraction of the might of the Kriegsmarine and of The Great Warlord Republic as a whole.
Vizeadmiral Sarah Dresner and General Thurmond Hanson stood on the flag bridge of the battleship RNS Rammsteinburg. Hanson was a small man, only 5'4", his stature made more ostensible by the height of the woman next to him. Dresner was nearly six feet tall. Despite her superior height, Hanson did not feel intimidated. He was still her superior. All the destructive power of these war machines and eight thousand warriors rested in his hands. He alone could release it, and it was an awesome responsibility he did not take lightly.
Five thousand yards behind Rammsteinburg was the Hafenstadt-class fleet carrier RNS Oberpapstberg. It turned into the wind and the first set of aircraft were about to takeoff.
A Predator UAV modified for carrier use would be the first to go. A large cloud of steam from the catapult formed beneath it. The flight deck was checked for debris. The "okay" signal was given to the launcher, and a tremendous force launched the unmanned aircraft forward. It successfully made it into the air and headed towards Saul Island to reconnoiter.
An F-18E Superhornet was pushed forward and aviation bosun mates began the prelaunch procedures.

12 hours from Saul Islands
The Unkerlantian fleet sailed swiftly across the open sea. The fleet which stretched out across the sea in multiple battlegroups each centering around three air craft carries a piece all together the three battlegroups formed a wedge with the largest forming the center all in all enough aircraft to form a small airforce and enough missiles to send a medium sized nation back to the stoneage.
The true force however of the Unkerlanti fleet was not measured by the number of ships or aircraft buy by the diehard men who now rested perhaps uneasily, in the holds of several dozen troop ships.
In total some ten thousand Imperial Marines and another three thousand Imperial army troopers with medium armored support stood ready to unleash their fury upon the communist upstarts on the Saul Islands.
Admiral Herstein looked over the latest satellite images and communication updates sent in via the Ministry of War, Intelligence branch back home.
Already a large number of other nations had set about deploying forces to quell the communist usurpers.
The Imperial Government however had perhaps a secret agenda.
Rammsteinburg
23-11-2008, 00:55
The UAV flew over the Saul Islands. The images it recorded were immediately sent back to the carrier RNS Oberpapstberg and subsequently sent to the flag CIC aboard the battleship Rammsteinburg. Intelligence specialists swiftly reviewed the incoming data.
Meanwhile General Hanson stood outside of the bridge, his hands grasping the metal railing, looking out at the surrounding ships. A fresh ocean breeze smacked him in the face. He did not expect this battle to be one which would stick out in his career; he was perfectly aware that High Command had requested so many ships and men simply as a show of force to frighten the rebels on the Saul Islands. However, the marine general always felt a great thrill and sense of pride before any engagement, big or small. It didn't matter if the battle would go down in the history books among D-Day or Iwo Jima. The fluttering of the Rammsteinburg naval ensign entered his ear. He turned his head and watched it. He smiled and then turned his attention to a distant troop carrier. He thought of all the man contained inside. Some might die, and that was tragic, but at least they would die with honour. The general was overjoyed to be leading such great men into battle. He was a warrior, and fighting was how he made his pay; and he wouldn't have it any other way.
The first wave of Superhornets was already in the air and rapidly approaching the islands, and Second Fleet with its five Wasp-class LHDs was 10 miles from the coast.
Aboard the amphibious landing ship RNS Quagmire, marine Lance Corporal Edgar Moor waited fearfully for his taste of combat. The Rammsteinburg warrior spirit was not within him; he knew and accepted that. It wasn't that he was a coward; he just did not believe that a military life was the life for him. Some people just aren't cut out for war. Moor was only in the Marinesoldaten Korps because of The Great Warlord Republic's conscription law. He had hoped that he would spend his mandatory four years of active duty without seeing action, and until today he had genuinely thought that he would be so lucky. And then his country had to go and get involved in some other nation's affairs for reasons he didn't understand. The lance corporal pressed his rifle against his chest and said a Jewish prayer he remembered from child in his head.
His platoon sergeant, sitting to his right, noticed the young man's fear and said, reassuringly, "Don't worry, Eddy. It'll be alright. You're a Rammsteinburgian, and more importantly--you're a marine!" LCPL. Moor grunted.

Aboard RCVN Blaise
The noise of the first two waves of intercepters launching had finally receded now that they were all airborne.
Admiral Davout watched from the Bridge as the last of the fighters formed up and made their way to Saul Is.
As part of operating procedures he had ensured the IFF codes had been relayed to the Rammsteinburg Fleet,
No need for friendly fire between airforces he had thought to himself.
Down below the Tornadoes ground strike aircraft were getting ready for laucnching.
He stepped through the bridge and out onto the Port wing, using his binoculars he looked towards the Landing Assault Ships he could see the air landing units were away, Chinook helicopters escorted by Apache Gunships and Harriers.
Captain Brad Thorn came out onto the bridge, standing beside the Admiral he yelled into his ear
"Radar has the airborne units coming into range, looks like the timing was perfect."
"Well Brad" remarked the Admiral "It bloody well better be better than perfect, one cock up in the schedule and we end up with the biggest screwup of all time".
The Admiral paced the bridge, occasionally looking into his binoculars, occasionally leaning over the bridge railings.
"Whats the matter Admiral"? asked the Captain, "You look worried".
"Hmmm what... ohh. Its that damned Unkerlantum fleet we saw on the last satelite pass, they havent made their intentions known and I sure as well would hate to have them turn nasty while I have my pants down fucking those bloody communists on Saul".
"You see them as a threat, admiral" asked Captain Thorn.
"Well of course they are Brad, someone turns up on your door with several fleets unannounced you better be sure they are a threat"
"You want I should put some prowlers up to watch over them then Admiral?.
"Hmm ehhh yeah ok Brad, do that" the Admiral replied somewhat distarcted as he watched the first ground attack prepare to take off.
The Captain called the CAG over and instructed him to launch two prowlers with cover, and keep them topped he yelled as CAG scurried back into the bridge.
All of a sudden the relative peace of being on one of Rechburgs largets carriers was once again disrupted as the ground attack planes began to launch.

"Frau Admiral, a fleet has been detected approximately 12 hours away, on a direct heading towards the Saul Islands" a petty officer informed Vizeadmiral Sarah Dresner, naval commander of Marine Expeditionary Force 1. She sat in her chair aboard the flag bridge of Rammsteinburg. "Three carrier battle groups and a very large number of troop carriers."
"Nationality?" asked Dresner nonchalantly as she watched a group of helicopters from one of the LHDs fly towards the islands up ahead.
"They're from a nation called the The Divine Reich of Unkerlantum."
"Never heard of it. Have they made their intentions known?"
"No, ma'am."
"Give me regular updates on their movement," Vizeadmiral Dresner ordered. "There is no telling if they are even coming here for sure. And get me their SIS file. In case we do have to confront them, I want to know who I'm up against. Also, send out a dispatch back home, to be relayed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I want them on alert."
"Aye, aye, ma'am," replied the Petty Officer. He stood at attention, saluted, and left the bridge.

Herstein paced the bridge calmly looking out over the horizon at the vast array of vessels under his command his pressed grey uniform adorned with a number of medals and ribbons gave him an aura of superiority and inspired his men.
"Initiate phase one commander."
Herstein turned to the officer flanking him similarly dressed
"Very well Admiral."
The commander turned and spoke into a comsat mic and gradually the Unkerlantian armada began to split with one battle group heading north another the largest holding course and another taking up a flanking position to the south.
The troop ships largely remained with the center force which was now picking up steam making for the shoreline with several heavy cruisers taking up lead positions with a single feathermore dreadnought

"Frau Admiral, latest intelligence shows that the Unkerlantian fleet has split." Vizeadmiral Dresner was handed a copy of the latest satellite images, taken half an hour ago. She reviewed them carefully. Finally, she said, "I think it's time we find out what these fellows are up to."

2 ralkovian carriers, 3 battleships, 4 attack subs, 4 SSBNs, 5 cruisers, 10 destroyers, and 10 LHD-1s(and support crafts) made their way to the Saul Islands. Their mission was simple, establish a ground command on the islands, from there ralkovia would to the public look like it was supporting the government forces while in reality it would support the rebels. Of course no nation knew of ralkovia's plans yet.

Sarah Dresner waited impatiently for a response to arrive, often doubting there would be one. She realized that if the Unkerlantian fleet was on the side of the rebel forces, or had some other hostile intention which she could not imagine, her force alone would not be able to combat it. It was essential, then, that she be able to coordinate activities with the other forces in the area.
She turned to her chief of staff, Kommodore Reinhard Wolf, and said, "Get a message sent out to the other pro-Zealand government forces that I wish to confer with them."
"Aye, aye, ma'am." The kommodore quickly carried out her order.

Vizeadmiral Dresner sat calmly in her chair on the bridge of Rammsteinburg, thinking hard over the situation. At least we have the support of the Rechburg fleet, she reminded herself.
Meanwhile there were already talks going on back in Rammsteinburg as to how to deal with the Unkerlantian fleet. Unfortuneately, the Special Intelligence Service file on the nation offered little information. However, The Great Warlord Republic had the advantage of being close to Zealand*. There were more than enough Rammsteinburgian warships in the south Pacific area to combat those Unkerlantum if necessary. The entire 3rd Fleet had already been placed on alert, and the Advanced Strike Force of the 8th Fleet had already been mobilized to parallel the Unkerlantian fleet.

The first group of marines embarked on their journey to the beach. General Hanson watched with joy and pride as those brave young men sped through the water in their landing craft. There were approximately 2,000 of them total. More would be sent as the situation warranted.
RNS Rammsteinburg turned to parallel the coast. Her forward mounted 16 inch guns turned to starboard and opened fire. Several other ships fired their considerably smaller guns in an attempt to clear the beach for the marine landing. Pamphlets warning of the attack were dropped by helicopter throughout the area, in an attempt to move any innocents out of the area; hopefully only the rebels remained.
Lance Corporal Moor was among those marines heading into battle. It amazed him that the thunderous explosions of the guns, particularly the battleship's, didn't make him deaf. Never before in his life had he heard such a racket! He stuck his fingers in his ears, but it hardly helped. One of his squad members patted him on the back, smiled, and said something, but he could not tell what. The lance corporal simply nodded and half-smiled at his comrade.
Moor's landing craft was among the first to hit the beach. As soon as it touched down on the wet sand, the front of it opened and his platoon charged out. He felt a sudden rush of adrenaline as he ran out into a world danger and uncertainty, and for a moment he even felt a thrill. Maybe, he thought, there was some warrior spirit in him; maybe it had remained dormant until now. He dismissed that thought, though, when a shell from Rammsteinburg's massive guns burst 30 yards ahead of him. Startled, he lost his balance and landed ass-first on the ground. It really hit him then: this was war.

Konteradmiral Bootsmann's Advanced Strike Force received its new orders while on routine patrol near its home port at a small Rammsteinburgian island in the North Pacific. The orders were simple: follow Unkerlantian fleet, maintain radio silence, and DO NOT ENGAGE. The last bit was repeated for emphasis.
"How long until we can reach them?" Bootsmann asked one of his subordinates.
"Approximately 2.6 hours at a speed of 26 knots, Herr Admiral."
"Right. Let's get to it, then." He picked up a phone on the flag bridge and explained their new mission to the captains of the Strike Force's ships and ordered, "Alter course 270, speed 26 knots."

Admiral Ney stood in the combat centre watching the evolving scene.
"What a goddamn shitfeast" he muttered to no one in particular.
On the one hand they had the Unkerlantum Fleets approaching and for their own reasons acting in a very belligerent manner, and over on the other side their were the Ralkovians and they werent declaring themselves.
Just ahead of him about 100 miles away were the Rammsteinburg and the Rechburg Expeditionary Fleet now supporting each other. Word had been received that the airborne troops had secured the airfield and by now the Galaxies should be bringing in the Airlanding Brigade.
The 1st Mech Brigade was ashore and unloaded, already the transports were clearing the area and on their way back to Rechburg, where no doubt the Duke was already loading up more supplies and troops.
Looking over on the radar plot on the large screen, he could see the 1st of the airforce fighters flying over his fleets on their way to land in Zealandia, no doubt the strike aircraft will follow.
Admiral Ney smiled when he thought of his soul mate and naval comrade Vizadmiral Sarah Drezner being face to face with the goddamn Unkerlantum pricks, no doubt they are going to find out they have a cat by the tail any moment soon.
He walked over to the comms suite, placed a call to the Rammsteinburg command ship,
"Morning Vizadmiral Drezner, I have have breakfast ready, shall I bring it over".
Well Fuck it the thought I wonder how in the annuals of military history that message was going to go down.
Ahhh well so much for pleasantries, I must get my shit down and dusted.

"Frau Admiral, message from Admiral Bey of Rechburg, ma'am," reported Dresner's chief of staff. He handed over a single sheet of paper. She smiled and chuckled when she read it.
"What's it say?" asked the chief of staff.
"Oh, nothing, nothing," she replied, a mischievous grin on her face. She was grateful for Admiral Ney's joke message; it provided much needed relief in a time of stress.
Vizeadmiral Dresner stood and went to the phone on the the port side. She asked for the following message to be sent to the Rechburg chief of national security:
"Sure. Bring lots of coffee. I'm going to need it. And make it nice and salty."
The petty officer in the communications room raised an eyebrow over that, but he wasn't one to question a flag officer's orders and quickly sent the message.
The commander of the 2nd Fleet returned to her chair and realized to her dismay that it was time to get back to work. She sighed inwardly and wished that she were with Admiral Ney. Hopefully I'll make it back to see him, she thought.

The President-General listened attentively as the Chief of Naval Operations, Großadmiral Hermann König, briefed him on the current developments in the Zealandia affair.
"And we know practically nothing about Unkterlantum, correct?" Großadmiral Emmerich asked when the CNO was finished.
"The SIS file on them is barely a page long. There's simply no way to determine what they have in mind, sir."
The President-General rubbed his chin and leaned back in his chair. As commander-in-chief of the Wehrmacht of Rammsteinburg, in theory he bore the ultimate responsibility for handling this situation. Of course, as a career naval officer, he understood all too well the great divide between the commander on the field and the commander back at home. In practice it was the former who really held the burden on their shoulders. Luckily Großadmiral Emmerich knew Vizeadmiral Dresner, General Hanson, and Admiral Salzmann. All were great officers and he had complete faith in their ability to handle the situation. And luckily we got the Rechburgers to back us up, too, he thought.
"Well, you already have 3rd Fleet ready to move, and Advanced Strike Force 2 has been mobilized," said the President-General. "Militarily there's not much more we can do but sit and wait. Diplomatically, however, there still may be hope." He picked up his phone and said to his secretary, "Get me Dr. Kohlberg, please, Hannah. Use the URGENT priority line."
"Yes, Herr President-General."

General MaClaren was the Land commander of Rechburg forces in Zelandia, he arrived with the 1st expeditionary fleet and was currently trying to make contact with the Zealandia Government as well as securing Saul island.
Admiral Ney was the overall theatre commander, currently he was at sea but was expected on land soon.
For MaClaren however it was a case of sorting the chaos out. The Port and city were secure, already the security people of detachment of 717 were going through the records of people they would bring in for interrogation.
The streets were being patrolled and a 12 hour curfew was in place, it would then be reviewed as the security situation became clearer.
The airborne units had secured the airbase and the villages around it, already the big AWAC's has landed and started patrolling, the information they provided was being patched not only to MaClaren but to Admiral Ney and the Rammsteinburgs as well. Nothing afloat or in the air moved without the AWACs noticing.
The fighter wings were landing and the first Flight was already airborne and flying CAP after refueling.
The strike forces had been loaded for anti shipping strikes and were ready for combat.
As General MaClaren sat down in his headquarters, he read the Exclusion notice that Admiral Ney had issued.
Drinking his coffee, dark and sweet, he pondered his next moves.
That exclusion notice gave him as well as Ney the right to search planes and aircraft that landed in Saul, any aircraft flying over Saul and not landing would be shot down. From now Saul was closed off to the world.

General Hanson was in the flag Combat Information Center of Rammsteinburg, reviewing data. The large room was illuminated only by a dim red light and the glare of the various computer consoles and tactical display screens. It gave the room an eerie look, adding to sober intensity in the air. On one large screen in the center of the CIC was a map displaying the locations of all Rammsteinburg and Rechburg forces. Images relayed from the UAVs patrolling the islands appeared on various consoles throughout the room.
The general was being given a summary of this tremendous amount of information by his intelligence chief, Generalmajor Hans Oppenheimer. Hanson was simulataneously disappointed and relieved that his men had yet to face any hostilities, more so the former than the latter.
"And so, that's it, Herr General," Oppenheimer said when he was done. General Hanson grunted. "Yea, okay," he said in response. He turned his attention to the large tactical display and wondered what his boys were up to at that very moment.

"Скажіть, ми тут для того, щоб допомогти уряду" The admiral said switching over to another dialect. The communication man would lose his tongue somewhere.
"Very well, admiral," the communication man said a bit flustered. He walked out of the room as Tsoon laughed. A message was sent back,"We are here to help reestablish government control and prevent the communist from getting a footing on the island."

There a Communications Specialist 2nd Class handed them a decoded dispatch from COMTHRDFLT (Commander, 3rd Fleet). The two senior officers confirmed the message as authentic. It read:

Herstein sat at his station on the bridge pipe in hand and a shot of the finest Unkerlanti scotch at his side, his behavior reflected that of the old Unkerlanti military an old guard as some of his peers referred to him.
He was a seasoned commander and had already fought countless engagements on the high seas, he had even had a brief four year stint as an instructor at the Ministry of War academy before switching back to command type assignments.
"Order patrols, and begin reconnaissance flights and sub screening Contact the admiralty and request the 4th fleet If any plane or submarine is detected within ten kilometers I want it destroyed."
Herstein bellowed out a long cloud of smoke his voice still cold and uncaring.
"Yes admiral."
another junior officer replied from one of the stations below as they began relaying the new set of orders and communicating back to the Admiralty.
"Begin channel syncing, I want to know what every one's saying who doesn't talk on an encrypted network."
Again the same quick reply to Herstein's orders.
LU-45 air superiority craft streaked off the flight decks of several of the Unkerlanti carriers. Several of the squadrons were equipped with sea pike anti-ship missiles which would allow for them to engage the enemy vessels from over forty five hundred kilometers.

Konteradmiral Bootsmann's strike force was now 45 minutes away from being able to parallel the course of the Unkerlantian fleet. The experienced veteran of the Kriegsmarine commanded from the Manticore class cruiser RNS Mueller. He had assumed control of this tiny, yet powerful group of stealthy warships only a week earlier, immediately after receiving a long overdue promotion. Prior to that he held a minor position on the staff of the Eighth Fleet commander.
If his ships saw action today, Bootsmann would not be unprepared for the challenge. Only four months ago he led a squadron during the infamous Red Dawn incident, during which he suffered heavy damage. And several years ago, during the Second Civil War of Rammsteinburg, he participated in a massive campaign against a rebel flotilla. Nobody could say that this Konteradmiral did not understand the realities of battle.
Outside the ocean was rough. Heavy winds blew, and massive waves constantly pounded against the bow of Bootsmann's flagship. Storm clouds loomed in the distance. Weather reports indicated a possible squall. This unnerved Bootsmann. He could handle the struggle of man against man, but he despised when it was man against nature. Nature was much more cruel, more unforgiving, and unpredictable, he thought. At least men are sometimes willing to negotiate. Mother Nature, that wicked bitch, on the other hand, refuses to ever surrender.
A Communications Specialist came to the door of the bridge. Konteradmiral Bootsmann observed him struggle to keep his hat from blowing off and the paper in his hand from flying away. A nearby officer opened the door for the man. When he did so the frightening whistle of the wind entered along with the petty officer. There was an uncanny quality to the sound.
"Sir, I have a message," said the communications specialist, panting from exhaustion, "from the Unkerlantian fleet." He handed it to the strike force commander.
"Well, it seems that our friends are imposing a buffer zone. I guess we'll just have to make sure we keep out of it, then," said the admiral. He had been ordered to maintain radio silence, but it was essential that the captains of the strike force ships be alerted. A warning was sent, in German, using the highest level of encryption.

he handed the note to Admiral Ney.
"Well it seems the Unkerlantum Fleet have declared their own exclusion zone, so that is fine, we stay away from them unless they enter our own 200 mile zone around Saul, then; well then I guess we lock horns if they wish."
He then turned to his control panel, he connected himself via the highly encrypted link with General MaClaren.
"Hows things going ashore, Mac" Admiral Ney asked.
"Well Admiral let me say there is less chaos than there was earlier, but its still chaos in a lesser degree.
Any chance of getting those Helions flown over General"? Admiral Ney asked.
"Well we are a little stretched for room on the flights , but if you deem them priority I will shuffle things back a little to make room"
The General replied, trying not to imagine the further chaos another loading reshuffle will create for his logistics staff.
"Ok Mac, make it so will ya, we need those stealth missiles urgently, I have a few being unloaded ashore, but hey I could always do with more"
"It will be done Admiral" general maClaren replied.
"Whats happening with the Goddamn commies Mac" asled the admiral.
"Well sir, they have gone to ground, we have no or little opposition and I am dragging through the Government records and hauling every fucking red on the island in sir. Nothing concrete yet, but we are developing leads. Seems they may have been seeking outside help, but god knows who. The Department 717 fellas are going to do their thing any moment, we will break them sir."
"Outstanding Mac, keep me informed will ya"
With that Admiral Ney closed the net.

Aerographer's Mate 3/c Joachim Moll stood on the stern of RNS Mueller, holding a red weather balloon. At the same time some seamen were lowering the Rammsteinburg naval ensign to prevent it from being blown off by the intense winds. AG3 Moll released the balloon, which quickly ascended into the air. The radiosonde attached immediately began recording data.
* * *
Fifteen minutes later:
Oceanographic/meteorologic officer Korvettenkapitän Johnson reported to Konteradmiral Bootsmann's quarters, where the strike force commander was sipping coffee and reading a passage from Sun Tzu's The Art of War.
"What's the verdict, Herr Johnson?" the admiral asked.
Korvettenkapitän Johnson was clearly nervous. He shook and tapped a pen against his thigh. This alone told Bootsmann that the news wasn't good. "We're about to head into a very rough storm, sir. It's simply too dangerous to risk sailing through it. We must alter our course within the next couple of minutes."
Konteradmiral Bootsmann groaned in annoyance and bit his lower lip. He thought for a moment. "Are you absolutely sure it's too dangerous?"
"Sir, I wouldn't tell you that if it weren't true."
"Alright, Herr Johnson." He sipped his coffee. "Calm down, okay? I'm not going to hurt you. You're just doing your job. You can't control the weather, only monitor it." The strike force commander stood and stretched his back. It cracked loudly. "How bad is this going to affect our mission?"
"After maneuvering around the squall, we will not be able to parallel the Unkerlantian fleet for at least another hour. And that's at maximum speed. Considering how fast they're approaching Zealandia, I'm not sure we will be able to reach them in time. I'm very sorry, sir."
Bootsmann felt his heart sink. "Alright, alright," he said with the voice of a broken man. "I'll redirect the strike force. I suppose I better inform High Command of this." He sighed.
