Work in progress.

Think Blood Pact. Think ritual scarification. Think teeth-grinding religious fervour crossed with advanced infantry. Think unflinching obedience. Think learning from mistakes. Think adaption and counter-action. Think 120mm close-support mortars. Think combined operations. Think mechanised wave. Think heavy weapons specialists. Think airborne flanking manouver. Think a combat-drugged sociopath with a .2 second reaction time ripping a 24 centimeter serrated bayonet from your groin to your solar plexus while repeatedly headbutting you in the face with a big and unpleasantly spiked helmet, all the while screaming at the top of his lungs a cacophony of unintelligible filth which is in fact the sweetest and most holy of prayers.

The Anointed

The minor warrior-cult known as 'the Anointed' [of Chaos? ref. Frederikus Codex Vol II, 770.M41], which eventually grew into a heretical movement of [DATA CORRUPTED] proportions, is first acknowledged within the fragmentary archives of the Adeptus Arbites of Sangaur III. The initial annihilation of the newly-discovered cult is believed to have left an unknown taint on certain members of the participating Arbites teams, and is held responsible for increasing levels of corruption among Administratum staff until 696.M41, when communications were lost with the Sangaur system. This loss of contact is believed to be due to uprisings among the Sangaur III PDF, who had been reportedly showing increasingly uncontrollable levels of disorder in the weeks leading up to the event [ref. Administratum File Reg. 696M4100353BB526].

Staggered communication with elements of the 6th Sangaur Hive Primus Grenadier Regiment, believed to have captured - with substantial losses, a communications facility on the northern continent, under the command of [DATA CORRUPTED] were able to transmit a partial report of the planetary situation before their signal was inexplicably lost [possible unregistered psyker activity. ref. Memoirs of Warmaster Macaroth, Chapter Herodor 821.M41]. The situational report detailed a three-week campaign blighted by limits of communication and supply, with the entire Departmento Munitorium network in crippling disarray. The Regiment had fought a six hundred mile retreat to the citadel of Kurakis, suffering sixty-four percent casualties, with enemy forces of unknown size estimated to be within twenty miles of the survivors.

Records of the first ten days of the defence, which have been suppressed from public...[FRAGMENT ENDS]

Reading too much 40k. Chain-reading 40k achieves a similar effect to watching every horror movie you own back-to-back, for a week (this is assuming a large number of the aforesaid hypothetical horror movies); you lose your grip slightly on what's real and what's not, all you can think about is bayonet charges.
